Do you give to charity?

I was reading an article that said If you gave to a charity, the charity only gets 10%- 6% of it. www.latimes.com/news/printediton/front/la-me-charity
Now the LA Times did not name names. I don't donate money. I donate my time. At Christmas I donate toys to the underprivileged. So I know this goes straight to the charity.
