Do you feel refreshed or sleepy after a bath?

It's been so hot around here
lately, so I've started taking
several showers daily just to cool off.
After a nice shower or bath, my blood
pressure goes down and sometimes, I get
sleepy.
That's not so good, in the middle of the
afternoon!
But it's sure nice to take a cool
shower before bedtime.
Helps me calm down and put my day in perspective!
Do you take a shower to feel refreshed?
Do you take a shower to relax before
bedtime?

I do the wake up shower, too.
I have too! It gets very hot and I just
don't feel right if I don't shower first thing.

Showers revive me. I take them in the morning before starting my day. It helps to wake me up.
If I want to relax before bed then I need to take a soaking bath.
Sometimes I need to take a shower at night to clean off, like on nights that I play tennis. To keep from waking myself up and having a hard time going to sleep, I can shower without getting my hair wet. It is something about the water streaming over my head that tends to wake me in a shower.

OK! I have that problem too with
wet hair, but did not understand the
connection before now.
I will try to put my hair up in a towel
before my next shower and see if that
helps.
Thanks for your comments!
Have a nice night.

Sure! A shower is refreshing.
A tub bath is soothing.

we do not have a shower we only have a bath so I have no choice. Most of the time a bath makes me feel lovely and refreshed, but there is just the odd time that I get out and could just go and crawl straight into bed and go to sleep! Sometimes it kills me to have a bath!

The other day I was browsing through
the Lillian Vernon catalog and saw a shower
adapter that goes on the head of your
tub faucet and it converts your tub faucet
to a mini shower. I think it has a five foot
hose and costs less than twenty dollars, US.
Maybe could check out their online catalog.

I always shower in a hurry, some body will be at the door buzzing non stop or the phone rings, so I never get tired after bath, because it will over within in a minute:), but one thing ,I feel like having a cup of coffee after my shower.

I am the same way. In the really bad
heat, a cool shower is so comforting
and oddly energizing.
But a cool tub bath makes me feel sick.
I can't explain it.
I think my blood pressure drops too low.
My four year old daughter loves cold tub baths.
The child detests warm water!
She won't allow any hot or warm water
into the tub while she is bathing.

Hello beutyqueen26,
Yes, I do take a shower to refresh. When I am at home and it's the weekend, I usually work around the house. Cleaning up or fixing some broken things. After working around, I took a shower to freshen up. It's a real clean and cool feeling. I don't feel sleepy do, I feel the opposite, I tend to wake up.
I don't take a shower before bedtime because it makes my hair not pretty looking when I wake up. I prefer taking shower after waking up or before going to work or going out of the house. I don't feel ok if I go out without taking a bath or shower. I feel clammy and sticky. It's best to take a shower if you want to be fresh, clean and cool.

Hello dear beauty queen. I usually feel refreshed after taking a shower. Right now it is very hot here in the region of China, where I am living, the east of China. It is thundering and there is dark cloud, but I don't think that it will rain. So during the hot days, I usually take a few showers a day, like one after getting up in the morning, one before going to take an afternoon nap and one after having dinner and one before going to night sleep. Sometimes I take more times of shower a day if I cannot suffer the heat and sweat. I love to take showers to feel refreshed and good. Thank you and stay cool in the hot summer, my dear beauty queen.

Thank you my dear friend!
I will try to stay cool.
Often a shower does make one feel
cool in the heat.
When it gets winter, I will have
more tub baths with very hot water.
My poor skin will dry out terribly.
Have a lovely evening.

Absolutely yes...If I take a bath before I go to bed, it really makes me feel relaxed. I'm really having a hard time sleeping, but when I take a bath, then drink a hot milk, I can sleep easily. Then it doesn't end there, when you wake up, you very clean stress free.

It's so true! The milk/bath combo completely
relaxes the body and allows for more
refreshing sleep; more recuperative sleep!

It's a bit weird for me. Haha. I feel sleeping DURING the shower, but once I get out I feel so refreshed. I think it's cause I rinse off with cold water though. I normally take showers in the morning though, so that might affect something. Haha. I don't think I could get any sleepier after I wake up.

Sure! I hear you.
I think that happens cause
the body feels colder in room
temperature when it's wet.
Happens to me all
the time.

Yeah, taking a bath surely gets one be refreshed from anything tiresome that they've been through.. grants that feeling of ease when we do..
I do sometimes take a bath before bed time but, if I'm really that exhausted, I guess I'll just take it when I wake up..

You definitely feel refreshed, not necessarity sleepy.
I love to feel the cleanliness and odour of the fragrant soap and the end of all stickiness when the day is over.
After a good shower you can relax anywhere.
