This tree is maybe about 40 foot tall and the trunk is about 3 feet in diameter roughly guessing. This was pulled from the ground from severe winds that at times in my daughters area were clocked at 70 MPH. I just wanted to share this awesome site I got to view today. Amazingly we drove around the city and saw many, many trees broken, uprotted, or knocked over and not a single house was damaged that we saw. God acts in mysterious ways at times. Have you experienced this before?

All I can say is what a shame...Some might think I'm a tad weird (uh, well maybe I am..LOL) but being a devote tree lover I hate seeing beautiful trees uprooted or damaged by nature's wrath...I experienced that myself some weeks ago when "my" beautiful baby tree that was planted about twenty five years ago fell during a terrible storm we had...I had loved that tree and it shaded the bedroom window from the hot sun...now it's no more...and I blame that due to the hatchet job a so-called tree expert company who did the worst pruning job imaginable which weakened all the trees in our area. I'm still very ticked off about that

I hate seeing trees damaged as well. I just told my wife tonight if it had hit here and it was eiather of my apple trees I would have cried. I said those apple trees are like my children. I guess you can say I am sort of a tree hugger in this way only.

Good evening, dear Grandpa Bob. So it is really rather severe a case or accident. Well, we also had this on campus in the early of February this year because of the heavy ice that many trees and bamboos were damaged and fell down and some uprooted. It is a great loss of trees, but now these trees are made straight again with ropes bound to them. I wish to grow as well as they used to. Thank you, Grandpa Bob.

Heavy winds moved one of my Apple tees as well last fall. I have a piece of rope staked with rubber hose around the rope to avoid damaging the trunk of it. It is straight now as well with this set up. Have a great day/evening.

Several times a year we can drive around and see trees uprooted or limbs blown off.Storm's aren't that rare here because a lot of times we get the winds off of the hurricanes that hit South Carolina and Florida. Thank goodness we rarely get the actual hurricane because out coast dips in so it just blows on until it passes over the areas that jut out into the ocean.

Quite a few years back, we had a very severe storm blow thru - winds were gusting to nearly 100 miles an hour - well, they were close to 70 anyway. Some neighborhoods were REALLY hard hit, including the very old neighborhood around the church I went to at that time.
Nearly all the trees were knocked over from north to south and mostly a little to the east going west - like the winds were blowing.
A GIANT old chinaberry tree was on the north-east side of the church - it was the ONLY tree in the area that went down to the south east instead of the south west - and it was more nearly east than south at that!

I agree... God works in mysterious ways... we get a lot of super typhoons here in my country... but i have never seen an uprooted tree in my area... although the biggest ship my country ever had just sank... with more than 800 people on board... but i think that was an act of stupidity on the part of the ship captain... and Sulpicio Lines...

Hi GRANBDPA BOB! I am happy to learn that no homes were damaged but I do feel sad for those tress especially that 40 foot tall Pine Tree. It is such a pity losing that majestic tree. I do believe though that God works in mysterious ways.
Take care and God bless!

My mother tells a story of how they took shelter from a storm in a small hut with a big tree leaning on it. The wind was raging all night outside and when the morning came they found the tree uprooted but lying down on the side of the house instead of crushing it. The whole night they were praying the powerful prayer of the Holy Trinity which my mother swears by. Life is not so easy to explain.

Hi Bob
Yeah some times we have storm which uproots many big and old tree, damaged the concrete homes and also big hoarding are flying in air

i believe one thing that when it comes to nature then nothing can stop it or hold it, either its earthquake, storm, rain, flood or any thing, all precaution of humans went to vain

I've seen a few uprooted trees in my lifetime but none like that. God does act in mysterious ways, and very selectively, it seems. There has been many storms here since I moved here last year but my street never seems to have any damage even though streets on each side of us have power out and tree/house damage. I've been blessed so far, let's see if it takes me through the summer unscathed!
Isn't it humbling to see the power of the wind?

it's good to hear that even though nature was partly affected with that unexpected weather condition, there was none of the houses and humans were hurt. we should thank god for that. and another thing to give him thanks, we were not affected with the past calamities just recently visited our place. thanks grandpa bob...

That pine tree is amazing, but close to where i live, in Romania there is an oak tree 2-2,5 METERS diamater ( that's about 7 feet I guess). These trees are realy miracles of nature and we must try to protect them, for our grandchildren to see.
