A Walk on the Beach.....Here I Come!

It has been a long, long time since my feet last felt the warm sand of the beach. I have so longed to go for a walk near the ocean's edge as the foamy water tickles my toes. This weekend I am finally getting to go to the beach! We pinched our pennies and saved enough money to go away for the weekend. We will only be spending one night, but will have 2 glorious days on the beach. I can almost smell the salty sea air now. Mini-vacations can be just what is needed to cast your cares away. No time or money for an extended vacation? Take a mini, even a day or two away from the norm can help clear the mind of cobwebs that weigh you down.

You lucky thing, you! I would love to be going to walk on the beach. And we certainly could use some time away from home and work. My husband went back to work and is working harder than ever, too much overtime. Great for the paycheck, but hard on the ole' body. And, a few days away at the beach would be so nice. Think of all of us as you stroll on that beach and let the water run between your toes. I love it! The late night strolls when it is cool are the best.

Hubby mentioned an evening walk on the beach. The last time we went it was wonderful. The only problem was that we got lost on our way back to the motel. Interesting drive we had, but it was spooky in the mist of the evening.

We went online to check out prices for places that were close or on the beach. Our finances kept us from booking with any of them. I was a bit dismayed when I came home from work yesterday and my husband had booked a room already. The price is right, but 4 miles from the beach. The beach that it is closest to doesn't have parking or restrooms.

It is so relaxing for me to sit or walk on the beach. I find it is the best way to leave my worries behind.

I miss the beach. I used to live in Myrtle Beach SC, Charleston SC, St. Petersburg FL, and Savannah GA. I love the ocean at night!

Well you have loads of fun and relaxation,my husband and I do that penny pinching and then we go away for a weekend at least once a year.We save all our change we didnt spend in a day and then we turn it all in.last year our change alone paid for gas and motel so we didnt have to take much out of our pockets. It is always nice to get away from the norm and clear the mind. You have a wonderful time, take care.

I tried to save my change. When I counted it out last night I found that we have enough for the tolls that we may encounter along the way. I didn't bother rolling the pennies. That will be saved for another day.

hi elusive butterfly I should go down to the beach more often and after Iam done with these shingles I will get on the bus and go down and walk alongthe beach. smelling the salty air and picking up sea shells, watching the Pacific flow in and out, its all so soothing and peacemaking and I am in need of that
right now,as the shingles have lasted much too long. lol.

Sorry to hear that you have the shingles. They can be quite painful. I do enjoy picking up sea shells as I walk along the beach. Sometimes we pick up small rocks and sea glass too.

I know what you mean about everything going bad at once. Life happens while we are making plans. This is our 3rd attempt at going somewhere.

Oh I wish you lived here where I do if you like the salty sandy beach. I haven't been out there in years and years. Last summer when my grandson was here for a visit my son ask if he and I wanted to go to the beach but my grandson didn't want to at that time so we didn't.
I hope you have a great time but I'm sure you will.

The 3 1/2 hour drive is not too bad. Hubby doesn't care much for it. I don't mind it though. I usually take a nap along the way.

I hope you have a wonderful time. Here, take my ears and listen to the waves for me. I don't really care for getting in the water, but I love to feel the breeze blowing off it and hear the waves.

Thank you for making me chuckle. I do love to listen to the sound of the waves. When I am feeling down I often sit with my eyes closed and envision myself sitting on the beach and listening to the sounds of the ocean. Very relaxing.

Its great that you choose to go to the beach for your weekend fun. I'm a beachbum myself whenever I have the chance to go to my province in southern Luzon, Philippines. Early this year, I visited Boracay Island with my friends. I simply love going to the beach, it never loses its magic over me. Have fun on your vacation!

Hubby would prefer to go elsewhere. He thinks you've seen one beach you've seen them all.

You are so right. Sometimes mini vacations can turn out to be the best ever. I love to take a quick vacation like that. And I love to just up and go; just out of the blue sometimes. Just a nice little break.
I know you are going to have a grand ol time just hanging out at the beach and soaking up all that good sunshine. I love the beach and I think the ocean is just awesome. I love to get a place on the beach where I can open a window and hear the waves rushing in while I am going to sleep. So restful.
Have a great time on your mini vacation.

It is my favorite place to vacation. We have gone to Niagara Falls, and into Canada, but nothing beats the beach.

That's awesome and I'm so happy you are going to get away. The destination sounds even better since it is a dream vacation of yours! I love the beach but my hubby doesn't care for sand. I have to drag him along but it has been a few years now, so maybe I can win this one again soon. Have fun and enjoy your relaxing weekend!

Oh that sounds wonderful! You will have a fantastic time I am sure of it. I would love to be going to a beach, but the way the weather is over here at the min I would not waste my money. We will only be having a few days out this year as we have already taken a holiday in May and we are slowly having the garden done. Have a great weekend though!

I really wish one was closer to me . The nearest beach is 7 hrs and the lake is aroud 3 hrs .I think maybe in August we will have enough money to go there .
