I love cooking and have a ton of cookbooks to prove it. I am always getting recipes from family and friends and trying them out on my family. I have to say that my family enjoys trying all my recipes and even my own homemade ideas. But I must confess that there are things I dont really enjoy about cooking and the number one and number two is peeling a onion and potatoe. I also hate the mess that accolumlates as well. I hate that some the stuff I use to cook with takes of all my cabinet space.
But I will always keep on cooking no matter what!!!!
So what is your least favorite thing about cooking?

I love to cook and I think that there are not many flaws to cooking. If you dislike cooking then one of my least favorite thing is cleaning up especially if what you are cooking can get stuck to the pan.
Another thing that i dislike about cooking is while you are cooking you happen to spill something and that really irritates me.

I hate cooking.. mainly because I can't cook well. On the rare occasions I cook, my least favorite activity is the washing up. The oiliness really puts me off. I very much prefer baking. Even though I hate the cleaning up too but at least it's not so 'oily'.

Oh , I never thought i would be much of one to cook . But I do cook and I love doing it . It took time to learn and as time went on I learnt the ropes . For me what I enjoy most is when everyone enjoys the meals . What I hate , and I mean hate is the clean up . That is never much fun , and most times ya get no help .

I really love to cook - especially in winter when I get the woodburner going in the kitchen. Like you snoopy04, I don't enjoy peeling onions - they really make me cry. But by far the worst thing is doing the washing up afterwards! Hubby won't do it at all! lol ;0(

My least favorite about cooking is the time that it takes. First you have to go out and buy the ingredients, then prepare the ingredients. During the actual cooking you have to be patient. You can't take shortcuts.
Because of this I only cook every once in a while. I wouldn't want to do it three times a day!

I learned to at least live with chopping the onions although it still makes me teary-eyed. hehe. But the thing that I hate most is the cleaning. I mean, it's such a nice feeling to finish your dish and then after getting the meal prepared, I go back to the kitchen and see the big mess... It's so frustrating! But what can we do, it's part of the process. If only, it will go away with a snap of the fingers.

I don't like two things about cooking- the cleanup and the fact that my husband won't try new things. He is a picky eater and he hates it when I make something new. He never thinks that he will like it. He always wants the same things together too. It gets old quick!

I hate the clean up. I hate doing dishes so thats always the part I dread. If there was a way to have someone else do the dishes for me all the time I would be much happier to cook. Because I love to bake things like cookies, muffins, pastries, and other desert and baked good things.

The least favourite in cooking for me is that to wash everything.
I like to cook and enjoy the procedure of preparing the related ingredient. But after finished cooking, come to wash time, I do not like. Most of the time I may ask my boy friend to wash for me.
Besides that, my hands sensitive to the detergent, I will try to avoid the washing part in cooking. The dishes washing part.

cleaning up the mess afterwards... definatly hate that bit. i love cooking though, even the cutting up of veggies and other "manual labor" that is usually not regarded as rewarding.

I'm not really fond of cooking but I do try my best for my husband and my son. Sometimes I look for new recipes and try if I can cook a great meal out of it. Like some of who have responded here, cleaning up is my least favorite part. So, in order for me to be not burdened with a lot of mess and clutter, as much as possible, I clean as I go.
When I have to peel something, I have my mini-container just within my reach. So, all the peelings will go straight to that container, minimizing the mess. And if time permits, I try to wash every cooking utensils right after using it. Usually, when my cooking is done, almost the cleaning part is almost done, too.

My least favorite thing think about cooking is the patience it needs. I usually cook when I'm really hungry or if the people are hungry around me.
Very Frustrating.
It's fun most of the time but if your making a little portion and you have to wait so long, it does get frustrating but that's okay.
