I can sleep no matter what if I am tired. I actually sleep with the tv on, the air conditioner going and a fan. Noise doesn't bother me too much. If I'm not sleepy then the tv will distract me and I won't be able to fall asleep. I used to sleep with the radio on every night, then I started sleeping in the living room and now it's the television.

Not me. I sleep on the couch every day and all the noise is constant. I even have 2 puppies that sleep in a crate. They can be barking and I can still fall asleep. It's kind of strange or maybe I'm just wierd. LOL

Usually no! But in case I am very much tired and / feel sleepy accutely, I may fall asleep. But the type of rest will certainly be poor and disturbing. Thanks for this nice topic!

If i am very tired ,yes, just trying to take a nap in the afternoon is not possible unless it is very quite, my only requirement is to have clean bed spreads and pillow covers, without that any mild noise is ok, I don't need complete silence.but my mother in law is very particular about noise, she doesn't like the ticking sound of the clock during sleep, so she keeps all the clocks ouside the room as far as possible. i am not that sensitive to sound.

sure cannot...sleeping is for people to rest, so it must be in a quiet and comfortable condition, and fortunate i seldom meet this situation as my housemates are very considerate and wont make noise...

Hmmm, we have a TV in the bedroom and I often go to sleep while my s/o
is still watching TV. But, I only sleep for a bit and then wake up because
of the sound.
I actually like to sleep with my window open and the sounds of nature only.
Make the room as dark as possible too!

lol i seem to have the ability to fall asleep anywhere anytime. When i was younger there were a few times i would be found sleeping in the closet ontop of shoes, or in the car i would fall asleep where you rest your feet in the back seat.
I think it's all mind over matter...i simply block out things around me and don't let it bother me

Hi tnhzone. That's a different story. If I'm going to sleep I want to be quiet and feel the silence of the night, this way I can easily fall asleep. In our village, some times there's a party and they are using loud music and even sung with a Video using the microphone. Oh, I really can't sleep with that loud noise, so I will just fall asleep around 2 in the morning when they the party or gathering is ended. I think some people are doesn't really care about their neighbors hood and just do what they want. I don't have a room mate because our room here has a very wide distance from each other. So, I have my privacy. Thanks for the post and good luck. Have a good day!

I could never sleep with alot of noise around. I have to sleep in a quiet and dark room. I really have a hard time sleeping period even if conditions are ideal. sometimes I wish I didnt have to sleep becasue it is basically a waste of time.
We need to be able to relax in order to sleep and I'm always thinking of what I need to do.

Yes, I can! Actually, that's one of my great abilities. The place I am living in is on the side of one of the busiest business area of my city. Every night, the traders move their goods in or out, which makes great noise. I'm used to it. In fact, I can not notice it even I am awake reading or watching TV in the daytime.

Unless I'm extremely tired, I can't normally fall asleep if there is a lot of noise. I do have to have a fan that is fairly loud to help me fall asleep and drown out any noise that may be in the background. There's just something relaxing about the humming noise of a fan.

I can try to, but I would probably last about an hour until I realize it and wake up.
I am a heavy and light sleeper at the same time. I can handle sleeping in a noisy condition but when it gets out of hand, I make sure it ends.
I can usually wake up easy most of the time but i can't feel anything when I'm sleeping(for example, if someone punches me in the face, I won't feel it).

I can fall asleep anywhere if I am tired enough. Quite frequently I fall asleep during movies. I have fallen asleep when I was trying to play a game. Unlike some of the other people who responded, I don't wake up after just an hour, I will sleep through nearly anything and stay there until someone wakes me up or I have been there for like 8 hours.
