Do you still keep your old clothes even you don't wear them again?

I realized my wardrobe had quite a few pieces of old clothes,I never wear them again but I don't know why I just cannot throw them away. This is weird, maybe I have feelings with my old clothes, even they are filling up my wardrobe. Or maybe I spent to buy them back, I feel it's a waste if I just throw them away like that. Do you have the same habit as me? Do share with me.

My old clothes usually just sit around for a while until I feel like making room by donating them to some of the local rescues. It feels refreshing to do that instead of just tossing them out, and the extra space is always wanted! hehe I usually do this every 3 years or so.

Yup, I can't bear to part with them, especially those I have worn before and liked them. I have tried cleaning up my wardrobe; and did manage to pack some up to give away; but there are still many that I don't want to give away. Not new, some even out-of fashion, but still...Maybe like you said, the feeling of attachment to them.

Yes...and sometimes it takes me a lot of time...maybe a year before finally saying goodbye to them.So it is either those old clothes goes home to be given to some relatives-the still wearable ones. Some were used as rags.Maybe some would stay with me since clothes style comes and goes and comes back again.I still can make use of them\,right?

If it's one of my favorite clothes, I don't throw them away. But if I don't like them, I just sell them on ebay.

naah... i dont keep them i just give them away to my servant. if we are not using them then whats the use of keeping. theres no point in keep a waste in our house. and one more reason is that if i give them to my maid then he will be happy and i can get some good work out of it.

I fully understand what you are talking about. I have moved several times in the past year and a half and I have several items that just do not make it to the donation pile. One item is a polar fleece pullover that has caribou decor made out of antlers. I can't see anyone else wearing this but me. Yet, it doesn't get cold enough most years. I made it to wear when I lived in Alaska.
I did force myself to donate a large amount of my clothes this year since I am really working on down sizing. Believe me, it has not been easy!
Anybody have any answers on how to part with more things?

I don't keep old clothes that I don't wear anymore. I clean out my closet a couple of times a year. My neighbor usually digs through the pile to pick what she wants and then I pick out whatever I think my friend at work will wear and give it to her. The remainder of the clothing goes to the local hospice thrift store as a donation. It feels good to be able to share with other people.

Shopping clothes, bags and shoes are girls best hobbies. We never stop from buying these things and keep piling up our closets. The best thing you can do is to do a Garage Sale and sell all the things you don't need anymore. Another option is to donate them to any charitable organization. This way you can earn money or help other people. No more guilty feelings, right?

I will clear my wardrobe once in a while. For those old clothes that I am not wearing anymore, I will give them away in order not to waste them. I think it is good to give them away to people who need them and I can spare the space in my wardrobe at the same time. :)

I am still keeping it because some dresses are so nice but then I have gained some weights..so I am still keeping it to make myself lose those inches away.
Well.some clothes I kept it because I am too lazy to do a spring cleaning.
However, with all those internet forum clothes selling, i might sell those nice ones away and maybe I could do a bit for charity. good topic to remind me to better do something with my wardrobe!!

yeah... i keep my old clothes even if i don't wear them again. they're like old trophies... they remind me of a lot of things...like when or where i bought them, who i was with when i wore them...clothes could even serve as a gauge just how many pounds i've gained or need to lose.

I do store them in my closet. When I think of getting rid of them or just donating them to a charitable organization, I imagine myself wearing them in the future when it'll become trendy again. So I leave it for a few more years in my closet. There are a few pieces that have been sitting untouched for around6 years in my closet. Every summer I air them out to make sure they're still in good condition and no mildew or what. Haha

I do have a tendency to hang on to old clothes, even if they don't fit. I go through spells when I do throw some away, but I still have clothes that I have not worn in years, simply because they don't fit. What is with that? Why don't I just get rid of them? I used to hang on to kids clothes, when the boys were smaller, but I finally quit doing that. Oh well maybe one of these days I will get into a cleaning kick and throw them all! Yeah right!

Nope....I give them away or sell them. There's places in Florida where someone can sell old clothes, shoes, purses, and books. They don't pay a lot, but hey, it's something. I sometimes give them to friends who have wanted them or need them, and they do the same. The ones that I can't give up in these ways I give to the salvation army or something like that.
I used to keep all my old clothes and things and then my closet got too full! Also, I moved and couldn't pack all those clothes for the moved and keep everything else I had. I still have things in Florida that I have to go back for when I visit next.

Depends on the article of clothing.
if it's a nice piece, then I keep it because at the moment I might not like it. I'd shoot myself if in a couple months I decide i need/want it and therefore buy it again
OR
If it was an exotic/nice/recent gift from a loved one.
