If you're given a chance, would you want to be a race car driver?

Driving has always been my passion. A few years back, I had the chance do be a race car driver. It was just only for about two days. I've also become a drag racer and I just can't get enough torque. Sometimes my racing instincts kick in while driving on city streets. I can maneuver better than most drivers at high speeds. I cut corners with ease. It really elevates my passion in driving. So would you want to be racing if you had a chance? And you'll be driving real fast cars. How do you think you'd do when you race for the first time if you haven't tried it out yet? If you're already a race car driver, share your experiences. PS: As long as you're driving, may it be on city streets or on the track, always be careful and alert. Stay safe.

Yeah, it's really like music to my ears. I really love Skyline's engine. I just saw 2 of those here in manila. When I heard the sound and the car went from around 40-100 kph in just 3-4 seconds, I almost fainted. I tried to catch it but, nah, I can't.

Hey sis! Wow! I didn't know you like living in high speeds. The fast and the furious actually got me more into it. Setting up as much as I can. I love the sound of the engines running. I prefer the quiet engines but when you rev up, it roars. Yeah, Gaby is a very good female racer. I wanted to be involved in professional racing but I just don't have the money to do so and it's difficult to get sponsors.

Hey janni! Wow, that is one part of racing I haven't actually tried. Drifting. I'd love to try it someday and go around Quezon City Circle that way. LOL. Anyway, not even regular slow driving or even with him beside you when driving? Just tell him you'll be careful and drive normally. Hope you get to try it soon. Just be careful.

Really? It seems you're right. He really doesn't want you to. Even for just a little bit. Well, for now, I guess Need for speed is the next best thing. Who knows? He may actually let you drive sometime in the near future? You joined a dragon boat festival though, if I remember correctly, and that's something not all have tried. Just continue to have fun. Take care Janni!

i really can't convince him! you know one time, we were playing need for speed on my playstation and he just butted in and said "there's no way you'll drive in real life." the nerve!!! but yeah, i sorta got used to it ^_^

Car racing is thing I enjoy watching on my screen but not taking part in myslf-it is a dangerous sport that could easily kill you-sometime I think the kind of world class drivers like Hamilton and Schoomarker are magician-come to think about the speed they put in the race it is too much! Now just imagine there was tire burst, would you come out alive?

Yeah, it is obviously a dangerous sport. It really takes a lot of skill, determination and utmost concentration. Well, there's sometimes a bit of luck in it too. Tire Bursts do happen, coming out alive, that's uncertain. That's the risk all racers take.

hi zero! ooh. you were a race car driver before?? cool. i am really fascinated with race car drivers, especially the young ones that i read about in the sports section of newspapers. and also the good looking race car drivers too! like matteo guidecelli. and those female drivers! they surely are awesome. sometimes i imagine that i am a race car driver, a good one, and people adore me for my skill. ^__~ if i have the chance to be one, why not? it would be a once in a lifetime experience! i often wonder how it feels to race. i only get the experience on arcade because i play car race. but of course, that's very different with the real one. ^__^;; its nothing compared with the real thing. the only downside of it is, i don't know how to drive. LOL

Hey! Hello secretbear! It really feels different racing with real cars and it's different as well between legal and street racing. Legal is a lot more serious and I worry if I win or not. In street racing, I just let it all go. ahahaha. It's just for fun. Hey, you should try learning how to drive. Who knows? You may be one of the top female race car drivers some day. But always remember to drive safety first. Take care my friend!

I do like to drive, and it is a fun thing to pass people going down the the interstate especially if you pass your friends lol,and that is cool that you go to be a race car driver for a couple days, and I am glad that it helps you with your street driving and that you can maneuver at high speeds better than most people,I think it would be cool to be a race car driver in Nascar for at least one race to see what all the drivers go through, and I think my first race would probably not go that well, because most likely I would keep bumping into Jeff Gordon,Dale Jr,and Jimmy Johnson because I do not like them lol,and I always drive safely, especially since my fiance is always with me because I do not want to put her in danger.

Yeah, it really gives me a slight advantage over street drivers. Oh and it was real nice as well to have friends drive with you on their cars especially when you're going to a far place for a trip/vacation. Too bad, we don't have Nascar here. The race isn't exposed a lot here but I've seen the races as well. I was even interested in Jeff's video game when it was release after I watched some of his races. That's a real good point there my friend. While on the road, I try to always be at 100% safety when I'm driving with my family. I just get loosened up when I'm alone. Take care!

I bet it is cool when you have friends racing in cars with you,and that would make it a lot more fun,and give you more of a reason to win lol,and it sucks that you do not have Nascar that because it is a good race to watch, and that is cool that you were interested in Jeff's video game after it was released, after seeing some of his races, and it I am glad that you drive safe when you are driving your family, and it is fun to loosen up when one is alone every once in a while, have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting.

Hey! How are you? Yeah, I'm really addicted to speed. Much like Lightning McQueen does. =D Although not as fast as him. I experienced drag racing quite a lot of times, both legal and street. most of the time though, especially on the street, they cheat! They take off .something seconds ahead. I just catch up and win. LOL. He must have loved the sudden pull of the car. Not sure though. Just tell him to be more careful. Take care to both of you!

oh right! It's like keeping the windows open running at least 80mph. Feel great! I even try to put my head out when it's clear just feel the wind. It's nice to feel the wind as the car goes faster and faster. Oh, just a thought, it's illegal in most states right? I'll be in Jersey and I'm planning to buy a fast car when I get there. Thanks! Take care Laura!

Hi subha! Yeah, it's really that dangerous. I forgot where I posted it, I slipped and skid at 90 mph on a wet road. The rush was intense, I really had to fight the steering wheel. At higher speeds concentration is really vital, and coordination of the entire body needs to be synchronized and accurate. Always be safe my friend.

You've lived dangerously my friend. I wish I could drive one, I could drive fast but not that fast. There are instances that I would find my self in those situation but most the time my car is not up to it. I rarely be at the 1st but I will certainty not leave it tail, so I'm much of a chaser than the leader. I could really feel my heart pumping and the rush of adrenalin when I'm in one. Those where my driving days now I hardly do it, there are so many things in my mind to consider.

Hi there ferdz! Well, yeah. It is really dangerous. There were a few close calls. I already skid a couple of times and the most dangerous one I had was one a wet road. I almost hit another car as the wheels are already over the water with extremely less road contact. It was intense. It's always better to be safe. I just do my best to be as careful as I can when I go fast. Take care my friend!

Yeah.. Because i'm in love with speed and adrenaline pumping sports.. lol ^_^ It's a one of a kind experience and i always like my frenz to drive fast,or in fact, most of my frenz drives fast like there's no cars on the road.. lol ^_^ NO matter how they drive, i will never feel that it's fast enough.. hehe ^_^ ANd i will like to experience drifting, but too bad, all my frenz can only half drift, for fear that their car can topple over.. lol ^_^ And if i'm given a chance, i will wanna experience all this by myself.. hehe

Hey there my friend! You hit it! The fast and furious series really is a good one to watch if you're into fast and cool looking cars. The first one was a bit, just is a teenie-bit, boring since the races are just straight. But it was still very good. The next 2 in the series was good as well. There's an upcoming Fast and Furious though. I think in 2009. It's already in imdb.com and Toretto and Brian are back again!

I think it would be fun to drive a race car!! I honestle think I would most likely crash, but it would be fun to try.

Yeah, you could definitely try it. There are tracks and even schools that could teach you in a controlled environment with professional instructors. And, I did crash once but not while racing though. I was speeding and an SUV cut me off. Stay safe my friend!

No, I'm not cut out for that but I would like to be a sky jumper. The pressure is less, (is it?) for me anyway. Floating above the sky than racing below on land gives me the "high". It is like you own the world from up there, wouldn't be that wonderful? While car racing would give me a nervous breakdown.... I wouldn't last a minute. You have to have a nerve of steel to be able to race and keep the wheel at the right lane. Happy holidays.

Well, in a way yeah. The pressure could be less since you're free falling and you can't do anything else but enjoy (and make sure the chute is working. ) and I agree that the view is excellent. If you're racing, you'd have to concentrate real hard and make instantaneous decisions. Now that you mention it, it is tough to race. Well, whichever it may be, always take care and stay safe. Merry Christmas.

As a teenager, I lived in the centre of a big city that was organizing bi-annual races. I was lucky to being able to see them from my window. So exciting... Then I learned to drive and it was pretty cool. I love driving fast, but only when I know it's safe. My cousin is a professional car racer, he won few titles. He likes it a lot, but it comes on the cost of family life. he can not be with his wife and kids, he's in constant danger, his mother is worried all the time. The question is, should you do something that makes only you happy? Should you be living only to satisfy your needs and neglect all the others around you?

That's cool to be able to watch racing from your window. It's also good that you drive fast only when it's safe. But always be careful since there are lots of unpredictable things that could happen on the road. As for your question, there has to be balance. We can't satisfy nor please everybody. In his case, it's his job. He's a professional. What comes with it is sacrifice. That doesn't mean that he doesn't want to go home and be with his family at all, right? Same as with any other job. Some go overseas to work for their family. They sacrifice their time together so that they could earn a living for them.

Hi Pinks! I'm doing much better. This was a tough year indeed. Probably my toughest yet. PDRF is in Macapagal? I'd love to visit. That last drag I've seen was back in Libis. We were chased by the police. We were like more than 40-50 cars at that time. ahahaha. Nobody was caught. They just shooed us off. I miss the drag racing scene. Maybe you are a guy in your past life. Take care my dear friend. Merry Christmas.
