Well I think I saw it all the other day. I was at my Daughters apartment, they live upstars, we were on the porch. There is a big house across the street with an above ground pool in the back yard, they had a cover laying by the pool.A lady pooled down the street in a maroon suburben stoped droped a little kid off.We hear her instruct the kid to go in the back yard and get the cover from the pool, the lady turned around, they loaded the cover up quick in the vechile and left. They had a fence, the kid jumped it.. Wow people steal every thing now.I suppose nothing is safe anylonger

I know that was something that you didn't expect to see but you saw. I have heard it all now. There have been quite a few things that I have commented too here in mylots. This is one of those things that I have to say that I have heard it all now. Taking a pool cover from someone in the neighborhood. The funny thing is you know that they live in the area. It would not be funny if the owner of the cover found out who the family was that took their cover. Then went to their house knocked on their door and asked for their cover back. What would the lady in the surburben say then. I don't know what you are talking about, or just give the cover back? What did you do after you say that?

That is why I said that it had to be someone in the neighborhood that lived close that knew the pool was in their yard. Have a good one.

You can say that again on nothing being safe anymore. People are even gutsy enough to walk into stores now and do this and or houses and steal from their own friends. It's beside me why people are like this and all I can say is may they get caught and pay the price for it for who do they think they are anyway? honestly. That woman haveing a innocent kid do the dirty work of stealing that pool cover she's setting bad examples for him. He now will think it's ok to do this kind of thing in the future when it's not. I would have gotten the plate number of the vehicle and reported it to the police and told the owners of the pool cover when they got home. Noone should be able to get away with this kind of thing.

Well, this woman is teaching her children to become criminals.Someday, they will be locked up in prison for armed robbery or something like that. Well we could not get this womans licence plate number, she was very slick the way she did it, she knew what she was doing. We did tell the neighbers, though.

I guess nothing is safe! Why would anyone steal a pool cover? That makes no sense at all.

Either that or they know where they can sell it. Pure profit if they stole it and paid nothing for it

And we better beware of everyone or we'll be trapped in something serious. Even kids of 9 years old make this kind of "works"... Man... Why stealing? Why not doing something more constructive like "mylot.com" :D (seriously?)

I don't know what you mean by people are stealing everything now. as in just this one personal experience? or have you had quite a couple experiences? or have you witnessed more then one experiences? I do not get the clear picture. and also what do you mean by cover? do you mean cover for the pool? i do not get it. because in different countries and cultures not many people will know what a above ground pool means.

Well yes, I know of all kinds of people that have had things stolen, the list is really endless, this is one I saw myself. This is a big metal swimming pool about 24 foot round. With a cover like a tarp to keep leaves and bugs out of the water.

you are right...nothing is safe at all anymore. People are desperate and they will steal and scam to get whatever they need or want. Did you tell your neighbor or notify the police?

No, nothing is safe, if somebody wants something bad enough, they will figure a way to get it.My son-in-law told the neighbor about this.

That is terrible! Mind you, I never leave anything in my back garden, I would go mad if someone stole something out of my garden. It does seem like nothing is safe anymore!

We live in a world where you can hardly trust people. But I must say there are still a lot of good people in the world. She just did n,t have no dignity. You could have simply gone to the house and and the owner if they knew where she could purchase one. Some people are just that mean and rather live off other people like a scavenger.

Ugh... Just a few days a go a friend of mine was on a jeep and someone tried to pick-pocket him. Tried to take his phone. Good thing he had good reflexes, that he felt it. He said "Nice try" and the man looked at him and said bad words. After that he got down from the public vehicle since he was guilty and humiliated. Some people just don't care anymore as long as they get what they want. It's such a shame that people would even take other's property for their own benefits.

You watching somebody steal and doing nothing about it (save starting a discussion here) is as bad as the thief themselves. I would have at least called 911 and reported that incident with a description of the car/vehicle and maybe a license plate number! Would you also just "watch" somebody getting mugged? or raped? or murdered? As you say "nothing is safe anylonger" because of do nothing people like you. Get off your duff and get involved, if we ALL watch out for one another, it will be safe again. I am saying this from experience because in my neighborhood, if any neighbor saw that act, they would go out to the street and stop that crime themselves (and then call the police), even if it meant getting in your car and following the thief home!

mike, Well, I can not help it I happened to be where I was at the time. I was up 2 flighs of stairs, there was no way I could get down where these people were, before they were through stealing this and gone. They were very fast. I am disabled, and can barly get up and down the stairs. This woman made sure nobody could see her licene plate numbers. She was not that stupid, she knew what she was doing. Why call 911 about this, I had no licence number, they would never come out for this. It was a non emergency, there is no way they are going to waste their time looking for this suburbian.Heck, I had people hit me and run, they never looked for them, get real!!! We did tell the owners of the pool.No I would never watch a person getting raped, mugged or murdered, how can you compare this to that?Do not tell me to get off my duff,I have lived long enough I know what to do and not to do..We can all watch out for one another, but you need to get real, it will never be safe again!!

That is sad. Look at what that lady is teaching her kid about life, if you want something just steal it. She obviously knew it was wrong and now she is passing that message on to her kid. Great. To bad you didn't get the License plate number so you could turn her in. Her kid needs the message that when you steal you get caught.

Wow, I'm surprised someone would steal something as random as a pool cover from someone's backyard. XD That sounds crazy, I guess there are people who will steal anything if they think they can get away with it. :/
