When I say nerd, I don't mean anything in referance to jobs or income.
I know of two thirtysomething nerds who don't work, and live with mom. However, they have the biggest record and CD collection you'll ever see, and could answer any question on music or music history.
That's just an example.

Completely. When the title was rubbed in your face repeatedly throughout your childhood, you never quite shed it, I think -- although most of my friends would never believe it of me now. One guy I met thought I would have been popular/class smart-a$$ -- boy was he off mark. Great thing is though (ask Bill Gates!) once you've left the insipid walls of childhood/adolscent schools, Nerdom is a good thing. :)

I'm probably more of a "geek" than a "nerd" bu those terms are pretty interchangeable by most. I'd even take "dork" most of the time. But isn't "nerdy" pretty in?
