No religion in the world supports violence...
No religion in this world teaches violence...
No religion in this world makes people violent...
Even not the bad people make religion look bad to others...
Its the misinterpriters or the people who use religion as a weapon make it look bad to others...

and for people to live in brotherhood side by side..

Bad people can make religion look bad. Their distorted views may be what causes them to be violent. Or maybe they are just psycho!

actually it's the distorted views as you say.. especially if one of them has got ears that pay attention to him all the time , like a celebrity who claims belonging to some religion while all he / she does is against the teachings of that religion,
but since he is a celebrity, he/ she is seen world wide, and thus.. spreading the wrong views.

doesn't make them smarter that's for sure, but the fame they get makes them sort of the Gods of the new age, and whatever they say or do, people seem to believe in them.

Exactly. It's very sad. But, it's their distorted view, not the view of their religion. So, it still goes back to the bad people making religion look bad. Actually, even though I'm sick of celebrities effectively spewing their untruths, I'm more sick of people being so blind as to follow someone just because they are a celebrity. Celebrities are just regular people too - just ones that have a specific talent that has put them in the public eye. Doesn't make them any smarter than the rest of us!

they were killed by the desire of human to domain! religion didn't teach them to kill in the name of god but to spread his word among believers!
so the killing exsists till now and for many reasons!
and yes you have the right to free speech as we have the right to free judge!

you are being so negative about it... human have tried to follow one religion ever since their existence, denying it is exactly like denying the languages we speak and the cultures we know.. you have no right to deny the civilization that was brought to Europe through Christianity, to Arabs through Islam and you can never deny the strong bound that Judaisms connects the Jews, and the spiritual relaxation of body and soul that Buddhism brings to it's believers!

its a kind of a weird question..but i guess the answer is depending on the people involvement in a certain religious activity..and if its a kind of a cult then for sure its the cult that make people do some weird /bad things or whatever..

OK, let's make the question less weird, is it possible that all Christians are good because Christianity is good? or that all of them are bad because it's bad?
I just brought this as an example only!! no offense to anyone!!

im a christian- roman catholic at that..for me my religion is good or sufficient..and as what i have said i dont have anything against on others(religion)since if they think that theirs were much better than christianity or whatever...but i guess its the people who make some religion bad..its the action of the head of the church or even the people itself who makes it not good in the eyes of others...did i answer your question my friend? if not then im sorry its what i think..and interpret as well

you answered it correctly and logically I'd say... and me judging correct or not based on my opinion only... and what might sound correct to me, may sound wrong to others... so it's relativity again!

I think it is definitely that bad people of a religion make it look bad to others. Pretty much all religions are based on good things and the point of them is to give people hope, faith and a bases to live there lives off of in the point of making things better for us. When you get people in the religions that either take things too far to the extremes, or in most cases I feel are hypocritical it gives the religion a bad name, but it isn't the religion with the problem it is the people who speak for it and represent it. It is just like if you have a business with a jerk for a boss or owner or what not the business itself many times creates or could create a great product or service, but the person that speaks for it and makes the decisions for it isn't so great so it becomes perceived as a bad business, however if a better person took over things could be great.

couldn't put it in a better manner, and that's what i want people to know.. we shouldn't be judging people by their beliefs , but by their deeds.

and what would you say to the people that classify religions as " forgiving" or " violent " because I've seen many people who do that classification.

Religion is not bad in and of itsself, it's the people involved that corrupt and twist religion to fit their own foolish agendas. People want to gain power, and unfortunately they use religion to attempt to justify violence.

and this is why many wars happened, and many bad names were called upon religions!
that's not what God wanted I think.....
and i hope we all come to this common sense of love.. and overcome the lies of power seekers!

i believe all religion advocates peace. it is the extremists that added the violent component. i've got friends from all religions. we had a few discussions on what are the teachings of each religion. from there, i understood about other religions better. religions advocate peace, kindness to all beings and being responsible for one's action. i think it's the extremists that are really damaging the reputation of certain religions. cheers ;p
