Everyday in my email I must get two to three different accounts of my horoscope for that day. I used to read them, but I don't anymore. I just simply delete them without even looking twice. I think that unless you have someone with that kind of talent read your cards, how accurate can the prediction be? The message they send is pretty generic and could suit just about anyone. After all, how can you tell me that every Leo in the world is going to fall in love on that particular day? A load of hogwash if you ask me. You can pretty much use anything they say to fit into the events of your day if you have a mind to or on the other hand you could start your day thinking that its going to turn out in the way that they describe and because you have that preset notion it will happen good or bad. Its all in the mind really. Do you read your horoscope daily? Do you believe in it or even find it to be accurate? Have you ever had a reading done professionally?

In my opinion it's all rubbish. I don't see how a newspaper can be specific to anyone in any case. "Be careful this week". Too general. Careful doing what? Crossing the road? Walking down the stairs? etc. I really don't believe in any of that stuff. However, I confess to looking at my horoscope from time to time! Now I cannot tell you why I do that!! Perhaps it said so in my stars!

I think there can be some truth to it if you have a reading done just for you, but when it tends to cover every single person of a single sign I think thats ridiculous.

I used to read the daily ones, either in the newspaper or online. AS you asy they are too generic. I used to do it for entertainment more than for anything else. On a couple of occassions they predicted a good day, but it turned out to be the other way around. I stopped reading it everyday since. REad it once a week just ot have fun. I have got a proffesional reading done. They seem to post mortem the past well, but do not give the right reaadings or the right directions for the future.

I have been trying to respond back to the comments left me over and over, but mylot won't let me stay logged in. I am going to try one more time. I think its interesting that you say that you weren't given the right reading for the future. What makes you say that?

they are very general and I did do a complete research project on it in university, the thing with these horoscopes is that the general public will read them and look for the signs to happy.
For example if the horoscope says you will hear of bad news today, subconsciously we will look for it and justify it,
then at the end of the day you say to yourself, en ha there is the bad news,
Uncle Joe stubbed his toe,
now seriously if you didn't read that in a horoscope and found out that Uncle Joe stubbed his toe, would you consider that bad new per se?
Most of us would not but if nothing else came close to bad news that day, and your horoscope said you would get bad news, Uncle Joe's toe becomes the bad news.

I don't read my horoscope on a regular basis... mainly because i don't believe in any of them... but i read them once in a while just for the fun of it... i agree with you.. most of them are pretty generic... and would suit just about anyone... so i just don't bother... i have never had a reading done professionally... but i would like to experience that... but it would be difficult to find someone who is and authentic palm or card reader...

You have a good point, you don't know whether the person doing the reading is a professional or a scam artist.

If you were to live your life based on the predictions of these internet gurus you'd be in big trouble. LOL.

I believe horoscopes and other astrological mumbo-jumbo are one of the most successful business based on how naive people can really be. The people who practice this "job" have created an aura of pseudoscience that surround them and makes them more credible. I support them in a way: people who are so stupid as to pay money for such things deserve to be ripped off. I like it when people pay for their stupidity.

Well I remember when I was just introduced to the net. I find it cool that I have those horoscope thingy in my email. But then, as time goes by, like you I lost interest in reading it as the readings are really generic already and sometimes I feel that the readings are just recycled over and over again. It is just being reworded to make it interesting but in reality the message is the same. Oh well I guess I have it all in my spam box since I do not receive it anymore or occasionally it does send emails but not as frequent as before.

Hihi,
Like you, I have come to realize that there isn't really much of a point reading horoscopes except for the pure entertainment value - if you feel entertained by it.
You will notice that a high percentage of the horoscopes turn out right, another high percentage turns out wrong. I won't say it is 50-50 but suffice that horoscopes that general i.e. as per your star sign, is pretty much useless.
I do reserve my opinion regarding horoscopes that are specifically cast for you, taking into account e.g. your name, birth date, birth hour, planets and whatsoever.
But the ones we get free from the newspapers, magazines or online sources just don't cut enough to matter if we are genuinely seeking advice in our life.
In fact, recently I thought of a "game" we can play with horoscopes. Instead of viewing them at the start of the day, read it when you call the day an end - and see how much of it was correct and how much of it was pure, unadulterated crap. Have fun!

LOL I very rarely read a horoscope and if I do I usually laugh as you say you can usually fit them in somehow - even if it is the wrong horoscope! I have a friend that reads her horoscope every day and gets really depressed if she thinks it means she isn't going to have a good day so it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy really! I have had a few personal readings done over the years and most were really quite accurate! xxx

I am signed up to receive my horoscope from a couple of sites, kbourgerie, and I agree that they should be used purely for their entertainment value. My mother was once very much into reading her daily horoscope. I believe that is how I first became interested. Well, she eventually "got religion" and concluded they were simply a tool of the devil. She made no bones about them being evil. I won't say they are evil, but, as you stated, they could not possibly suit each and every person born during a particular astrological period.

I have never had my cards read professionally and yes, I admit it, i was one of those faithful horoscope readers. Everyday I would read it and yes sometimes I would be able to incorporate into my life but on the other side of that coin, I would say what you said, that it's a bunch of bull. Not every Scorpio (that's what I am) is going to fall in love on the same day.

I will check it out if I have a newspaper and my boyfriends too but yea, it sounds pretty simple. I am interested in astrology though and our library has tons but understanding it is hard for me with all the houses, the charts and such. I think I have more luck learning tarots which also interest me, I try to adhere to the rules of Feng Shui for success and relationships.

I do sometimes. I agree with you though. Not everyone that is a leo can all be the same. I am a leo also. Sometimes I read it just to see what it says but not always.

I read my monthly horoscopes at Susan Miller's Astrologyzone website. Sometimes it is surprisingly accurate! My life really unfolds the way it says there. You might want to check it out and see for yourself.

I think all of them lies, I dont believe in horoscope no one can know the future, and if they knows why they don't make their future good, it is all lie and just some of them to it for getting money and the more disaster are the people who believe them.

Horoscopes are actually designed as a general prediction for a day. If you would read carefully even some of the horoscopes for other signs could actually apply to you too. I think that horoscopes were made just to assure people that something good could happen at the day or if if is bad it is a reminder for us to be careful always.

I do believe that some horoscopes hit the nail right on the head, so to speak.. although I am not sure if this is by pure coincidence, or if it is by "talent"... However, they do still intrigue me.. I am not sur if this has ever happened to anyone else, but for awhile I would read my horoscope daily and it would seem like it always seemed like it matched the day before.. I quit reading it... lol, now maybe this was all in my head.. but non the less it seemes true! ;)
