$ 1.48 in 1 hour? Time is important

For those who are doing great, making money, time is more important. For those who make 50 cents out of 50 posts, is that really practical. I get 10 euro for cutting the grass, in 40 minutes for a neighbour. So my friend has made a dollar in one hour while at work. What he says was, he emailed over 10 friends, and each friend make comments on each others profile, and the same with their own discussions that they created, and their discussions relate to 'yahoo' 'money' and mylot. So what he is saying is an individual cant make that much money out of it unless you want to make 100 posts a day which can take 3 hours (why bother) but work as a team, 10 to 20 people doing the same thing, is more effective and takes less time.
What do you think?

Money is NOT everything and our time is precious. If our time is spent having FUN and getting paid for it too surely that makes sense? Once you join in here and make friends you will be earning too without even noticing the clock go by

I agree completely. The only problem is, how can one work and do this on mylot as well, is you have a slow lap top :-)

i created some "calling cards" with this site's referral link and a couple of others - i hand them out when i think of it - even without referrals, there could be more members = more discussions = more threads that we'd each like to post to.

Well, that would be great if you could get that many people together and do that. If it would work, I would go for it. However, it can make you think, about the fact 3 hours for 1.48 is not really a lot, or is it? Keep me posted, this may be interesting.

That is understandable. I would love to find a job where I could write, and get paid, at my leisure. However, I guess unless you put out money and check the sites then you may find something, which I am not ready to put money out on something I am not sure of. but, I still love to type. and I am learning more and more on the proper English to type. ha ha ha. I wish. anyway. Good questions. have a bless day

Thanks Lynn, I am testing out some of peoples methods and ideas, and like i said before it is a matter of time.
So much typing for such little is not practical, where I am more interested in new ideas. So I asked before how much can I make, both having fun and make more than just a dollar in an hour, then I am interested.

Making $1.48 an hour is definitely not impressive if you live in the U.S. or Europe (and many other parts of the world), where the cost of living could not possibly be sustained by such a low income. (By the end of July 2008, the U.S. federal minimum wage is set to go to $6.55 an hour... before taxes... which makes $1.48 an hour about $5 short of what a person in the states could make - per hour - flipping burgers.)
Maybe for other places in the world, though, $1.48 an hour (or even for a day) is huge? Maybe getting 10 euros for 40 minutes of grass mowing is not a possibility in their locations?
To your question - the efforts of a team would probably be most effective for one of the users - the one that got the rest of the team signed up as referrals.
For example, if 5 people are on a team started by user "A" - A having recruited four others - B, C, D, and E to join myLot - and each person earns $1 after posting 100 quality posts in the course of a day (just as an example amount), then - for B, C, D, and E's earnings of $1, user A would get 25% of each of their earnings - which means that user A would get a total of $1 for his own contributions and $1 for the contributions of his four referrals - a total of $2 for the day.
I think that if a person thought through the system (and had enough friends who were each able to earn $1), one person might be able to do ok, but it would really take a lot of thinking in order to make sure that all of them would be able to do well. (FYI, FWIW - to date, after 4 weeks, the person who referred me is nearing the $2 mark for 25% of my earnings... and I think that I am fairly active on the site.)

highlyclever,
I agree, my referred is about the same, and in the last couple of days, due to illness, I have not been on much, but, I believe I too, am very active on here, and she has made about the same as your's. So, it makes you think, if this is possible. I did not know minimum wage was going up. we are at 8.00 dollars an hour here. Mainly due to the area we live in, that is our set price to begin. It is nice that we are getting higher, however, when we get more everything goes up. So sad. lol. anyway, you have made me think .... thank you

Thanks for your reply!
The minimum wage varies from area to area. Some states set their own minimum wage higher than the federal requirement... because they have a higher cost of living... or they want to attract employees, etc.
I think that the "team" idea is definitely a workable possibility for making money here on myLot. The challenge is to recruit members and then to give them something to make their participation worthwhile to them. ^_^

Yes time is important. But I feel that this is a good thing for me to be doing while at home with my children. It does take time but can be done whenever you want to so that is good.
I really wish that a fairy godmother would give me some money though!!

i agree that time is really important and we should value every minute of time spending for everyday.,and how can we do that well, by simply using it in a good way and for me earning money online is one of the reason why i stayed more of my hours in front of the computer because i know and i believe that we can do more a lot in here ,. not by having a million or getting rich but being happy with what your doing everyday and sharing some thoughts and opinions are might be better.,so enjoy guys! happy mylotting!

good day.. mylot is mainly for fun, earning a little is just a bonus. You're correct in saying it's not practical but only if you try to make a living solely out of it. For instant you've said you'll earn more cutting grass for your neighborhood, of course it should be, it's laborous compare to typing. And how often do you cut their grass? Can you do it everyday and receive 10 euros as well? Mylot doesn't pay that much but more or less it is consistent, it's up to you if you can afford to make more time into it. Plus you can have fun and earn at your leisure, you can do it at your own good time. just my 1 cent.

Well, one day a nurse in Peru, knew I was a stranger touring. It is the poor areas in the hills. She was feeding a very skinny kid not looking the best. She smiled and said, 'here' and gave me a little piece of food, to feed the child. I was a little taken aback but you cannot say no. So I fed the kid, just a little piece of food. Nothing was said. After that my life was changed and my perception of wealth and poverty was now upside down. That moment to feed the child didn't cost a cent, but it was a priceless lesson.
