How old do you think your kids should be before they are allowed to watch Family Guy?
We do not allow our 4 year old daughter to watch it. She wants to but I just think there are too many things that Stewey does that she would pick up on really easily.
I'm courious on this and how many parents allow it.

I don't like it for kids. Or the Simpsons, really, either. However, my 9 y/o has always watched these shows. My husband is not too into stopping the kids from watching things. I don't know. I think the content is inappropriate. I'll probably try to keep my 20 month old away from these shows as much as possible, but I bet he'll see them sometimes. He does already love the Simpsons when it's on. I guess if they do watch it and you can't control it (as in my situation, it can be hard), it is just important to be very clear that what the characters are doing is for the purpose of being funny specifically BECAUSE no one should be doing that. We'll see if that works...

I think its very important to teach your childern what is right and wrong, fake or real, and the differences between tv shows.
I dont want any of my kids acting like Stewey and attempting to murder their mother.

I still don't allow my 10 yr old. I think when they're in their teens about 14-15 yrs old. There is too much adult content on it, it's vulgar and raw.

Very good for you! More parents should be paying attention to their kids and what they are watching on tv.

The humor is deffenatly not good for the young kids. I can see a lot of problems coming from this show.

I won't let my daughter watch it. In fact, I can't even get through a whole episode before I'm ready to turn it off.

More parents need to be more active with their children and pay attention to what they are watching. Good for you!

Well....my son is 14 now and him and his dad watch it a lot. He has been watching it for about two years or so...I don't like him watching it...I think the content is more geared to adults..but his father has a different view. I think that he is old enough to realize it is just a show.....so he watches it. However....younger children...I would say..."No"...

Yea, I think 14 is deffenatly an ok age to be watching it. They wont want to repeat what they see as easily as say a 4 year old.

The theme song is excellent. But kids shouldn't be watching this sort of stuff.

Depends on the kids maturity level and parental guidance.

I think at 12 years old, it would be ok. I dont think any kids under 8 should be watching it though.

I don't watch it but I have heard some of the dialogue and I don't think it's suitable for children at all, it should be rated pg13, where 13 and up can watch it. That's my opinion. Alot of adults watch it and they also let their children watch it too. That's one of the reasons why our kids grow up too fast because their innocent little minds are filled with info they don't need to know at such a young age.

I love family guy and watch it all the time my little brother watches it to. He is 8 but it doesn't affect him because he knows not to repeat that stuff.

Thats good he's smart enough to know whats right and wrong. I guess it would depend on the child.

Yes, thats why we dont let her. I was thinking around 13 I might let her watch it then but at that point, her little sister would be jelous and mad. I guess I'll see what happens when the time comes.
