Unless you want to check profiles everytime you answer a discussion, it's hard to keep track of who is still active and who isn't. One thing I can say for sure though is that these people are not earning any money. If you don't log in for 3 months or more you forfeit whatever is in your account.

Hi foxyfire33, thanks for the reply and the information about the 3 month rule. At least that rule is fair and solves one of the issues I had, but the second one still remains. If you are making comments on a topic that is no longer being, let's say, supervised, then there is no discussion. It's just a one-way thing and it takes away massively from the quality of MyLot.com. I know a lot of people are just here to earn money, but if the quality of the content suffers, then the interest will die and eventually the earnings go too. Maybe the MyLot people will see the damage it does in time!?
See ya and thanks!

Well, that has always been a thought on my part as well. And I have also wondered like with the one I signed up in myLot under... Are they still making $2.50 off of me each month that I earn at least $10 on here as well? Personally, I guess that is OK if they do it this way, but if it was me, I would make it manditory that you check in at least once a month if you can and post a few on here to make at least $1 in here in order to earn anything from here. I know some people would beg to differ here with me, but that's my thoughts.

Hello again KrauseHome :-)
I have received both points of view on who should get the money and I can understand both sides of that argument, but one key problem remains and that is who is going to supervise or chair the discussion. Comments by themselves on a topic without a chairperson are no longer a discussion and if there is no discussion then should these topics still be listed on Mylot.com. My suggestion would be to delete the topic after a give period of time, or maybe somebody else could take it over!??
Speak again soon

Believe me, they don't get much at all for those responses, if any. I took a week break from mylot once, came back with ten responses for some of my previous discussions, and had only made one cent. So they aren't getting much, if any. People don't seem to look at the date the discussion was started. I try to always look so I don't respond to an old discussion that has a topic that is no longer relevant.

Hi again AmbiePam. If they don't get much for their responses then its not a money issue. However, these old discussions are messing up the site, especially if you have to go and check to see if the discussion is still relevant or active. My biggest issue is that a person gives a topic for discussion, but that as soon as that person is no longer available on Mylot, then it is no longer a discussion but merely comments on a topic. That means it has nothing to do with Mylot's principles. I suggest that these old topics either be deleted or that somebody else takes up the chair on the topic. Anything else is misleading and harms the content of the site.
Regards UMart :-)

I have noticed that too.
The posts belong to MyLot.
But I've never noticed that I get
paid for old posts.
Mostly I just get paid the day the
response or discussion is posted
and none after that.

Hi beautyqueen26. Thanks for dropping by :-)
Well that's at least fair that the people who no longer log-in will no longer get paid. However, I am seeing people still replying to these articles many months after the last log-in. That is not right and means that no active discussion can take place. It seems as if the MyLot people don't really care about this issue, if they have so many dormant accounts. The quality of the whole site will suffer.
Take care.

I guess if someone goes back that far to search out a discussion then they have a right to leave a comment. I do not think if they haven't been on here for a year they are going to be doing much earning let alone worry about collecting any of it.

Hello mscott! Good to hear from you. I agree that the earnings must be irrelevant for the peron who started the topic and is now gone. You have also added another angle to the discussion, which is the right of somebody to make a comment on a subject that he or she likes. I agree with that entirely. I have though a problem with the fact that there may be no answer to that comment and without a reply then it is no longer a "discussion." The only solutions I can come with are either to delete the topic after a certain time has passed since the last log-in, or for somebody else to take up the chair for the discussion. This last idea must be technically possible, then the best topics could live on and people would still have the right to make their comment on their desired topic, as you pointed out.
Thanks for that!
All the best

Hi dabest451, Thanks for your answer. Well I was looking at somebody's profile today. The person had last logged in a year ago, but the last response was 3 months ago, so it can happen. You do have a point on who should get the money. It could be the person who initiated the discussion, but as they are no longer there, then you have to ask yourself - Is it a discussion anymore? I thought MyLot.com was made for discussion and I think each discussion needs some sort of superviser.
Personally if I were the Mylot people I would delete old topics.
All the best.
