I went to the grocery store last night and wanted to get some fruit. I am not a big fruit eater and walked up and down looking for something that would be good for me and I don't like buying a big bag or bunch as I live by myself and don't eat that much. I ended up buying some plums. The grapes didn't look that good....and I am tired of all the melon already this summer....so what do you buy for fruit?

I like pineapple my self. They have pretty much been my favorite fruit for as long as I can remember. My son likes fruit too. I usually like to buy the pineapple chunks in a can and they are really good to use for cooking certain meals with.

Bosc Pears are my favorite. But in all respect I have to say that is changing as I have a couple Apple Trees and it is changing over to Harlared Apples as this is one variety of Apples I have growing in my back yard. But as for store bought it has to be Bosc pears. So soft, juicy and tasty.

I like a lot of different fruit. Strawberries is on the top of the list for me. But the very favorite of mine is watermelon. That is one of the most delicious fruits that I have ever eaten. I like a lot of different fruits though.

I don't like just any one fruit. It depends also what I am in the mood for or if it is the time of the year when the fruit will be good and sweet. There are not too many fruits that I don't like and off hand I can't think of any of those even. Oh wait, I am not a big fan of mango. Right now we have some apples and some green seedless grapes in our house.

I've stopped buying fruit that comes in bunches, like grapes. They look OK when I examine them in the store, but when I get home and start to wash them off, they have mold or something else wrong with them. Lately I've been buying mangoes, and cantaloupe. I really want to purchase a watermelon, but it is way to heavy for me to carry. They sell them in halves, so I may pick up one of those someday soon.

Last night all of it looked like there was something wrong with it....they had grapes on sale and when you lifted it up they were all squished on the bottom....the pears were still green....and I am sure you understand not buying a bag of fruit....I throw most of it away as I don't have time to eat it before it gets rotten.

I'd be in the same situation myself! Right now,I have some bananas, and apples ,and last week I bought some seedless green grapes..Grapes would be a favourite,or Cherries especially..There's not many fruits I wouldn't like! A few weeks ago I was out shopping with a friend Who's a Chef..I was looking at the small packs of sliced pineapple that cost the same or more as a full sized one-He talked me into buying the full sized one! It wasn't difficult to prepare-I kept enough for Myself and brought the rest to My Sister's family when I visited next evening! One tip the Chef gave me on the pineapple..the juice pools at the bottom of the fruit as it's sitting there on display..turn it upside down for about 30 minutes before slicing,it'll circulate the juice, making it more succulent!

I suppose it is handy knowing a chef but I never knew that about the pineapple!!
Ive always been tempted to buy fresh pineapple as we sell them in the store I work at, when I have sliced it I normally put a plate underneath it to keep it juicy!!
Its amazing how you learn things like this!!

I don't have a favourite fruit as I love all fruits. When I was about 10 years old I developed an alergy to fruits and couldn't eat them for about 35 years. Then one day when I was about 45 years old, I tried a piece of apple pie to find that I could eat it and not have an allergic reactions. So I went to the doctor and told her and she told me that I may have outgrown my alergies and to take it very slowly, introducing fruits into my dieting slowly. So now I am 51 years old and I can eat almost anything again. There are still a couple fruits I can't eat, like peaches and crab apples, but most of the fruits I can eat now. I love them all and cherish every mouthful when I am eating something.

Good for her. I know how happy she probably is. I know I am so happy about it. I just went to the store today and bought some apples and bananas and a cantalope.

I prefer to take seasonal fruits, but I mostly like Banana regular, because it helps our body many ways, there is no season for this fruit, 365 days available in all countries.

Hello jillhill! My favorite fruit is the strawberry. Not only are they sweet and succulent, but they are extremely healthy. Like a number of red fruits and vegetables, they are found to have anticarcinogenic qualities. For me personally, I associate strawberries with warm days and Spring. Strawberries and cream are "served" every year at Wimbledon, where I have been three times. Finally, I will add that there is nothing better than a thick slice of the old Dublin Batch Bread, smeared with a large helping of strawberry jam.
Simply Jummi :-P
Take care.

Among my favorites: banana, grapes, pineapple and ponkans. But if I have to choose only one fruit then I go for pineapple... sweet one not sour. I put a bit of salt to the pineapple then eat the whole pineapple. Nothings left for you... I can have it all...(laug out loud)

My favorite is strawberries. But I also love watermelon, bananas and pineapple as much as strawberries. I sure don't eat enough fruit. Never have been a big fruit eater. I am the chocolate lover who can eat a bag of peanutbutter cups in an evening. Not very healthy but it's always been a part of my lifestyle. I call chocolate my heart medicine..lol

I love mangoes. I find no other fruit as delicious as mangoes. But the problem it we cannot have mangoes through out the year, we can only enjoy different varieties of mangoes during summer months only (in India). I also love mango shake.
