Morning Fire

My wife and I left to go to Aldis about a mile from our house. As we passed one of the factories near us we saw smoke coming from the chimney and thought nothing of it. Then we got done and passed the factory again on the way home we saw the smoke was now coming from the garage doors as well as windows etc. We turned onto the side street just as all the Firetrucks, Fire Chiefs and police officers arrived. We got blocked in the area for a few minutes until they set up a control area then moved their emergency vehicles allowing traffic to flow freely. And I did not have my camera as it was a trip that was a couple miles total distance and just a short time shopping. It seems noone was inmjured as no ambulance was at the scene thankfully. I grabbed my camera as I got home and headed back as it was just a half mile from home but they now have the road blocked so no photos.

Oh goodness, I am glad to hear that no one was injured but I am still surprised that there was no ambulance there just in case it was needed for the firemen doing their job. No problem with not getting a picture, at least you tried to get one for us to see.

Their is one Firetruck that are Paramedics so they can tend to injuries as they wait for an ambulance if needed. Plus the call stated all people were out of the building and accounted for by the shop foreman so there was no need at the time of the call for one.

I'm glad one of us had an exciting morning. LOL. My excitement was limited to a somewhat normal drive into work. I started carpooling and it wasn't my turn to drive today. I'll post more on that later (new discussion). Too bad you couldn't get pictures!

I am glad that no one was hurt. Wonder if there was a lot of damage.
You might have to start carrying your camera with you where ever you go.You never no when you might need the camera.

in the offices is the only damage done.

A spark from a piece of hot machinery landed
on a wooden pallet and started the fire.

hi Grandpa Bob sorry you didnot get any pictures when
you went back. this just reminded me of something
years ago when I was with my mom and dad in my dads car.
WE were out in a neighboring town when my dad heard these
fire engines so he followed with my mom protesting all the time and then when we saw the whole street seemed to be on fire, the emergency vehicles stopped my dad from driving any closer. well under my moms fussing my dad started out away from the fire and the smoke was really bad, he pulled out of the parking space without looking and wham we were broadsided by an old truck
that looked about to fall apart. nobody was hurt but my dad had a huge caved inspot on that side of his car.my mom never let him forget about it either. The old man in the old truck was really upset as his truck was damaged worse than our car. my dad just paid him some money for the damages and we left. no police report'
my dad was great at paying his wayout of troubles lol.

Most of the times I am amaze with photo journalist because they have to be at the right place and at the right time. But with your interest Grandpa Bob it proves that once you've set your heart and soul in it, you can capture such event. Unfortunately you just didn't bring along your camera.

And I seem to run into things along these lines a lot.
Either that, or I go hunting for them by chasing
Police cars, ambulances, and or Firetrucks as I hear them etc.

I am so glad no one was hurt. What did they make in the factory? I glad that you did not get caught in the fire line and had to stay there.
Last night we had a shooting in the parking lot at a Denny's in Fresno CA. Everyone that was in Denny's had to stay there for several hours. When they where released to go they could not take their cars because they where behind the police tape. The Denny's was closed for over 12 hours for the investigation. I feel for the owner of the Denny's and the employee's who lost a day's wage. I am glad I was not there the shooting was at 1:00AM in the morning. I have been eating at the Denny's in my town that late after a late movie and such.
The person who got shoot is in critical condition and the police say it is not gang related.

I do hope that no one was hurt. Fires are very scary things. Not so much for the damage from the flames, but from the smoke damage.
As for not having your camera... you should keep it on hand at all times! I have friends who are big on photography, and that's they're #1 rule. I try to abide by it when I'm going out for the day (aside from just regular grocery shopping), but I tend to forget I even have it with me when I do. lol.

Fire is so scary, yet so hypnotizing and beautiful. The destruction is unbelievable and so fast! Don't stop to gawk at fires, you could get hurt!

I am glad to hear no one got hurt. That is always best. A local business near me just burnt down also. The fire was in an electrical shop- I heard it was an electrical fire too. They are working out of their warehouse right now- but the bills and customer files all burnt up. I hope the people that owed them money- are going to pay them anyway. The company I work for buys from them and I know we will pay them.
