Is it a good idea to respond to best response in mylot?

I saw many people responding to a message which is already marked as best response.
According to mylot, as soon as you mark it as best response then it will go off from your unresolved discussion and I think it says this discussion is closed. Am I right here?
I saw a lot of people responding to a discussion which is already closed and even the people who started the discussion will also add comments to the response. If this is the case, what is the exact meaning of best response messages? If it is the best response then what is the meaning of adding few more responses?
If you are still want to continue discussing on a topic then you have many options to make a response as best right? Why the discussion should be closed by marking as best response and then continue the discussion?
People, Can I get an exact answer to this question?
Thanks.

The reason people respond to these discussion would be beacause they have something to add to it, maybe just to earn some more but all the same they want to respond or help that person. The best response feature really just shows that they write quality responses and may bring them extra income and also shows that the discussion starter is being active. - But all the same I see what you mean about posting after a best response, but I do it anyway!

Thanks for your time. I do agree with you. But there is only one best response per discussion. If they have few more then I would have completely agree with your point saying:
The best response feature really just shows that they write quality responses and may bring them extra income.
Thanks.

it is resolved mans the user has removed it from unresolved discussion. i am not sure whether in case of mylot also it is closed. I think we still earn to replay to it. if i like a discussion i answer although the bR is already chosen.

A discussion is never closed as long as it is not deleted. Anyone can respond at any time. To some people it makes no difference whether they can receive BR or not, they still have something to say. If BR is important to you a good idea would be to look at the date the discussion was first posted. I have responded to some that have been out here a year or more (accidentally) but it was of interest to me and I just wanted to add my two cents.

It's true that sometimes when you already gave a best response someone else could give a better one but let's ssy that when you are asking for some advice it's also appreciated if a good response is given in a short time.
So I suggest you wait maybe a few days before choosing one and then when you are satisfied of the response and the discussion seems to be finished you can give the little gift and if someone else would write a better response let's say that he lost his opportunity because he was late :D

good day.. I think as long as the topic is still posted here whether it has a best response or not you can still add some comment if you wanted to. I mean I still add my opinion even when a best response was already chosen if I find the topic interesting.

A discussion that has been marked with a best response is not closed. Anyone can still respond to any discussion at any time. The best response is chosen by the person who started the discussion as a thank you to the person who gave the most helpful, thoughtful answer. I don't think it earns that person more money, but it is a signal to other users that they give quality answers. Go ahead and respond to discussions when the best response has already been marked if you have something meaningful to add.

I dont think that after marking BR the discussion is closed. You will see I very often check my friends discussions and if they are on topics I put in a response. I do not see when the discussion has been started or if a BR is marked or not. For me the discussions are a means of communicating with my friends here on mylot and I dont bother whether I am paid for it or not.

While some may view the discussion as closed as soon as there is a BR chosen, I truly believe that if a person has something to add they should. I don't post to try and get BR but to add a new point of view or maybe I would have the information the poster is looking for. A discussion is never closed as long as there are people that want to add to it. Who knows if you close it you may cheat yourself out of learning something very valuable.

Yup. Thats really true. Information is what we are getting from a discussion and thats what discussion is to be started for. Thats a real practical way of answering this question. :) Thanks for sharing.
