Anyone using NOD32 anti-virus?

I am currently using NOD32. It's really good in detecting virus. But when virus is finally detected, when I am prompted to delete it, it would say "file is locked". What does that mean? Do I have to change any settings?
If I wont be able to solve this, probably I would change my anti-virus. Any recommendation?

I've used ESET NOD32 SMART SECURITY before, its basically the same with other NOD Version. A piece of advise if you don't mind, i got infected with a virus and a spyware. NOD products are weak in detecting and removing virus, trojans, malware, spyware and other threats. It is also weak in run-time scanning.
Why not use other Anti-Virus softwares like Norton, Kaspersky, AVG. Currently i'm using Kaspersky Internet Security 7, so far so good. Another heads up my friend, don't use IE browser because they are more prone to viruses.

the last time it detected a virus was when I plugged in a USB, that was about 2 weeks ago. Since it indicated "file is locked" and I could do nothing, I just reformatted it. I haven't done the suggestions yet. When I get rid of the problem, I'll inform you...

That is because the program with virus have ran in your system, You must stop the program from running, Them you can delete it from system. Try to find the program and prevent it to run or you can try delete it in DOS mode.

I've never heard of it, sorry. That's really weird though. All the anti-virus programs I've ever used always automatically deleted viruses. I have stop-sign antivirus and it works great. My computer is a lot faster and more efficient now. I would definitely recommend it if you do end up changing your anti-virus.

thanks for your response. What's the name of your anti-virus? Is STOP-SIGN the name of your anti-virus?

I'd rather have an AVG. It works silently too like NOD32 and in my opinion is good at detecting viruses and without ruining the files that they are sticking into.

Esed Nod32 is a good Antivirus with a high detection rate..It is ranked #3 on computer magazines survey of 2008 with #1 Bitdefender and # 2 Kaspersky..I think you must check the settings of your antivirus my friend..You can try the other 2 antivirus i mentioned too..They are good virus detection too. I used that Esed Nod32 before but i shifted to Kaspersky because i got it free from a friend who's a seller of it...
