Okay, so here is the update, as soon as I got offline yesterday. Mom called me and said that my dad went to have Stoney put down and when he went in the room to see Stoney, he just couldn't do it and my dad told the vet to just do the surgery and do what she could do to save him. My dad said that he did not want to wake up the next morning and think "what if I could have saved Stoney's life". He (dad) went home and told my mother "I couldn't have him put down and I don't know why, I mean it is a cat, but I have never felt like this before."
So the vet called this morning and said that Stoney is doing unbelievably well. So we are keeping our fingers crossed and praying that this surgery heals him and that he lives a long life. Thanks for being concerned everyone.

Awh! I am glad your father has a good heart, I don't think I could do something like that either, I would want my pet to die at home, even if in pain, they seem more comforted at home. What was Stoney's problem in the first place to need surgery? I hope your kitty gets better!

Yaaaaayyyyyyyy! I mean, I know Stoney probably isn't out of the woods yet with it being just after surgery and all. But he's doing well according to the vet, and that is a really good sign. A Big Someone upstairs must have spoke to your dad's heart to keep him from having Stoney put down. I'm so glad. Please keep us posted as to how he is doing hon. Hugs to you.

Well here it is Monday, Stoney had the surgery Friday and he is now home. Yes, as you said, he isn't out of the woods, but he is doing better than the vet ever thought he would. He still will not eat or drink so my mom is feeding him via a syringe. She added some tuna and water to a blender and mixed them well. He is taking it great through the syringe but for some reason will not eat on his own. Hopefully he will keep taking it through the syringe start eating on his own soon. I will keep you all updated. Thanks for the response and have a great day!

Yes, it is great news and I will certainly keep you all posted on what is going on with Stoney. I am so happy that he did make it through the surgery and that he is doing good, I mean he isn't out of danger but the vet is suprised that he even made it through and he is still hanging in there.

I am so glad your cat is doing better. I know that must be a hard decision to make. I know how I felt when my cat was lost. I will keep my fingers crossed and say a prayer for Stoney. I am sure everything will be okay.
Keep the faith.
