They gave him amoxicillin and he was taking tylenol and motrin to bring down the fever....He only ate popsicles....and drank gatorade.....

When i took him in the ER they said he was fine nothing was wrong but a viral stomach thing.. I knew there was more to it than just that.. A child don't run a 103.3 fever like that if it's only something like a stomach thing.. So I went ahead and had him seen by his doctor and he said he seen some white spots on the back of his throat so he thought he might of had strep as well.. They didn't give him any IV's or anything like that which surprises me cause he wouldn't eat drink nothing just lay there being hot... I've tried everything to get his fever down cool baths, children's Tylenol nothing... I hate seeing my son sick than again every one hates seeing that.. I couldn't help but go in and make sure it wasn't anymore more... Thanks Feona for your reply.. Today he's up playing with the kittens he says that he's feeling alot better, he's alot cooler and yes making noise now..

I am so glad that he is feeling better.. My oldest grandson who is 6, has the rash now..it is on his face, back and upper arms..It seems to be spreading more each day..It doesn't itch...he doesn't have a fever which is great...so hopefully it will pass... I thought maybe it was my laundry soap, but not sure.... Fevers are awful when a child has one...you feel helpless....

Thank you Howard for your reply... I think you got your wish lol He's up today doing lots better and talking moving around yes running too... So I think he's alot better than he was before.. Just sometimes it scares a person when a child hasn't been sick for years and than all of a sudden running a high temp like that and can't get it down is pretty freaky!

The doctor isn't 100 sure but he thinks it's strep throat, he seen some white spots when my son opened his mouth to get checked so he just automatically gave him medication so if it was that it would be treated.. Today he's doing alot better moving around and yes making noise I know he's feeling better so that to me is a huge relief... Thank you so much for your reply!

With his high fever he was having normally people sweat he didn't sweat a single bit that is what also got me, I thought at first he was dehydrated so forcing him water well you can't make a person drink for sure.. However after his first dose of medications he was sweating pretty good.. So that too was a relief.. When i checked his temp last night he was 100.3 so it did come down alot. Now he's refusing to let me check it.. He keeps telling me he's fine and stop worrying ha ha this coming from a 9 year old...

wow! He was tough and strong kid! LOL! As well as sweet too, he doesn't like to see you worrying a lot for him..I hope he will really feel better soon!

Thank you for your reply... He is feeling much better today he's up running around and having fun, though he is still on medication for the next few days, I am just relieved that he's doing better...

Thank you Rose that is very sweet and yes it's a huge worry for sure.. Just getting those temps back down.. The doctor did tell me if he wasn't better by today i was to bring him back to the ER... Sometimes those ER doctors really have no idea what they are looking for but, well the one that seen my son anyway he looked at hims aid he was ok just a viral stomach thing and sent him home didn't even bother doing or checking for anything else..

Yes you are correct about those ER doctors. All we can do is make our children as comfortable as we can. I will keep him in my prayers so he will get better with Gods help.

Thanks for your reply and yes I needed to watch myself as well as I was just in to see the doctor myself nothing related to what he's got but something else.. Last thing i need is to get sick myself with him that way.. No one is here during the day but me to take care of him...
