I too am trying to eat healthier, but I don't believe you need to stay away from fat or carbs, you just have to eat healthy. Ice cream is okay in moderation, like once a week. Fats in candy and cookies should be avoided, but fat in eggs is a healthy form. Carbs.. well don't get me started. They are not the enemy regardless what those so called experts say. The only way to lose weight is to make lifestyle changes, such as eating healthier. Fad diets will never work.

I started trying to lose weight again today. I have tried many times before. I am hoping that it sticks this time! I follow a low carb diet perscribed by my doctor because I have diabetes. I eat less than 100 carbs a day. If I do this I will lose weight and improve my health markers. I am also aiming for at least 4 days of exercise a week. That's just to start with. I hope to up it to 6. Good luck with your weight loss.

Hi there Diabetes runs in my family I am affraid that I will get it1 i also have lowered my carb intake. It is easier to lose weight when you eat less carbs. Carbs make you crave carbs... I mean less carbs and not carb free.

You are correct, it's not NO carb, it's low carb. That's a mistake some people make and why they think it's so unhealthy.

That is very true! If you start your day off with Carbs you crave Carbs all day long and never feel full.

I am always trying to lose a few pounds here and there. I watch what I eat. Try to eat fruit and vegetables. Try not fry things but I really need to get motivated and exercise. I think along with a balanced diet and exercise, the weight will start to come off. Everything in moderation!!!

i find it hard to follow a routine diet. if you read my post on POTATOES you'll understand why ! LOL i just found a wonderful site for dieting, health and family topics. you can make money there, too. ask questions about any health, exercise or dieting issue. they have journals for documenting daily foods, exercise, BMI, and a super resource center. all of the articles are written in lay terminology so it's easy to understand and follow. if you would send me a message (i just asked for your friendship), i will be happy to send you an invitation. i've been there since 7.3.08 and have made almost $30 so far.

Hey Louise Well I wouldn't say that I am dieting at the moment, but somehow I am losing weight. I have cut way down on cokes. I started drinking more water and do some walking when able. It's a little bit at a time, but I remind myself that it took me many years to get heavy and I can lose it quicker, but it isn't going to be tomorrow. I wish you good luck with your weight loss and will keep an eye out for any post you put on here about it.

Well the no Cokes part would be easy for me. I am not a soda pop drinker at all! Good idea to chat up a bit on how the weightloss is going!

Hi I am also trying to diet. Just trying coz everytime i go to supermarket i m tempted to buy cakes and biscuits and pizzas. Once or twice i m able to control myself but then i gave dieting a damn and just go for my temptations. But due to toddlers at home, i have to be physically active whole day so i m just able to put my weight at a stable stage neither increasing nor decreasing

Thanks for responding. I have heard that if you make a store list before going to the store, and just stick to the list that it is easier to ressist temptation to buy those things that are not as healthy.

I'm not doing any specific dieting but I eat ony when I'm hungry and I eat more vegetables. I eat enough to make me hungry the next meal time. I also do brisk walks for 1 hour every morning.

What I am doing different this time is: I am eating when I am NOT hungry. I am not waiting to get hungry. I am eating every hour or 2. This keeps the motabolism up and your body never goes into starvation mode! Does not have to be a whole meal, can be a apple, or some carrots.

I'm not really dieting, but I do try to not eat the things that I know are really bad for me. I try to stay away from really high carbs and try to have high fiber in my eating.. like I don't buy bread that is white or overly processed. Sometimes you buy wheat bread and it only has 1 gram of fiber, but other high fiber breads that are at least 4 grams of fiber.
