The True Falacy Which is Socialism!!

Socialism:Political theories advocating collective or governmental ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods. What this means is: You as an individual can't own, property, a business, or annything of value and the government will pay you according to what they believe you need to survive! In a previous post of mine today you read (if you read it) that Obama believes that the wealthy ought to be MADE to pay for the shortcomings of the not-wealthy! This goes right along with the idea that government needs to be in control of every facet of our lives! How rediculous! If I am a wealthy business man and I am being taxed disproportionately simply because I make so much, I might just as well lay off many of my workers and pull my income down below the mean line where the taxation begins! To make sure this doesn't happen in a true socialistic society the corporations and businesses are confiscated and then the government has complete control of food, transportation, housing and welfare! What happens when you or anybody sees no rewards for their hard work or sees someone working less get the same reward? Apathy is the proper word! As apathy sets in production begins to wain and inevitably collapse is the end product! If Barack Obama is allowed to put into motion even half of his socialistic ideas, there won't be any America left for God to bless OR damn!

I really don't understand what all this Obama fear is about, everybody's screaming "socialism" and running away. Social security is the most successful program the US has, I don't think anybody here could genuinely find fault in it. And nobody points to FDR as a communist! I don't understand, what specific idea is scaring you?

Soooobored, Social Security and successful; now there is an oxymoron if I have ever heard one! Social Security is so successful that if something is not done to bail it out in the next decade, the baby boomers will completely wipe it out! FDR WAS a socialist which is about a half-step from communist but he is portrayed as this fantastic president. Do some REAL research and you will find quite a few things FDR did when president to be very distasteful, even for a liberal!

The money we all have put into the Social Security program and continue to put in it has been used to pay of other debts the government has made. They are not good managers of money, period! The Social Security money should have been locked for those paying into it, not to bail out the debts of the country made by people who love to spend the money of others! We keep getting little tiny raises that aren't a drop in the bucket for those seniors that it's their only income. When the money plays out, how is the government going to help them then? Yes, you got it! The government is definitely trying to take over ever facet our lives, make us dependent on them. We, as individuals, are not responsible enough to make our own decisions. The fact is, the first government program for welfare should have been rescinded years ago. People should have been made to realize they should be working and saving for the future. We would not have as many deadbeats in the world as we have today, if the government was not sniffing at our heels and wanting to know everything we do - making it easy for these people to lean on someone else (the government) instead of making it on their own. When the government takes over our paychecks, these people are going to have different thoughts about our 'wonderful government'. When our money starts being divided equally among those that are unwilling to work, what will they do? And, I believe with every day passing, the government is getting closer to their goal. But you can be sure they have things in place where they will not be harmed by this! Socialism is coming to this country little by little. And, I'm afraid it's going to come very fast if Obama gets in office.

I certainly agree that our government is pushing toward socialism with the health plan the democrats want to implement and all the talk about sharing with everyone who doesn't have money. I see so many beggars on the streets that are just as able as I am to work, yet they put their handout for my money. I'm not against helping those really in need. But when my husband, who is retired, gets out still in this 100 degree weather, working a job that most young people couldn't handle or would not work, it ills me to see these people out begging! And, now the government wants to distribute our hard-earned money amongst those lazy people, and I am not for it! I'm not or distributing any money anyone makes to anyone else. That is not the way America should be run! I've been reading about socialism and communism. The only difference I can see is that in socialism, the the means of producing and distributing goods are owned collectively and political power is exercised by the whole community. In communism, the state plans and controls the economy and a single, often authoritarian party holds power, claiming to make progress toward a higher social order in which all goods are equally shared by the people. Sounds more like some in government are trying to push us toward communism! With things going like they are, I'm afraid Americans are in for a long and hard road ahead. With gas high as it is, it is already hard for the average worker who lives a long way from work to make ends meet. People are losing their homes and can't afford a different automobile to help with gas mileage. They are between a rock and a hard spot, as the old saying goes. And it's going to get worse.

Obama talks a good talk right now. He does,he doesn't, he does -wonder what the answer to the same question will be right before election time? If elected, we are going to see hardship in our country like you would not believe. The Democrats have hand picked him to run for President, not even caring that he only speaks eloquently from a teleprompter and then sometimes messes up. Give him a chance to speak on his own and he says different things. Apparently, that is the reason he won't do town hall meetings with McCain. They want to make sure he doesn't have too much space in which to contradict himself! Look for lots more taxes and universal health care (NOT the best in the world)if he becomes president.

Very well stated! I agree with you that it burns me, too, seeing people who can work but choose to be leeches instead. My "favorite" is the people who collect SSI for a reading disability. Excuse me....there ARE jobs out there that don't require good reading skills.

If one wants more government programs one must take more money from the private sector to fund these new government programs. When the government starts taking over sections of the private sector, the private sector gets smaller but these sector still has to pay for the new government programs. Sooner or later the private sector is having too much of its revenue leaving, so the private sector must by force start cutting back. When these cut backs start a vacuum is left, and someone or something will have to fill the void. This fill will be government, which will require new taxes to keep its operations going, and growing. The cycle starts all over again, and will end where it started with the government. Almost like a rolling snow ball rolling down a hill, and Obama will be the one that will start the snow ball.

This is true. What they want is to own all of the business and tax the hell out of the Evil Rich who by the way, pays most of the income taxes anyway.
