What is the absolute WORST movie you've ever seen?

I know Plan 9 From Outer Space has the reputation of being the penultimate stinker, but in my opinion it's not the worst. And for my experience, it's not the worst movie I have ever personally seen. Despite Ed Wood's reputation for being the worst director of all time, I find his movies strangely watchable. Like cheese, they smell but improve with time. My short list of steaming cinematic turds would include: Manos, The Hands of Fate The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living and Became Mixed Up Zombies Anaconda and more. I am a huge fan of MST3K and many of the movies they screened through their 10 years were so god-awful, I don't think they should be watched without riffing...

Oh hey, definitely! I forgot to even mention up there, one time my girlfriend got this movie called "Special Effects" from her Blockbuster queue (not to be confused with the movie "F/X") and it was so horrendous, and partway through I asked her why on this green earth would you rent this?! She joked that she got it for the soundtrack. LOL. The soundtrack was all synth and lame. She wanted to shut it off, but I was like "No! We must watch to the end, or the initial suffering is for nothing!"

Sounds a bit like "The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy"'s bit with the Vogon Poetry reading! I can just Picture You and Your friend sitting there gripping the Sofa, waiting for it to end!

I know there are quite a few movies out that I don't like, I can't remember them all, but one that comes to mind is Meet the Spartans. I thought that was the most dumbest movie ever made.

i really cant stand any of the Ernest movies. you know Ernest goes to camp or goes to jail. i remember when i was a kid that there was a tv show for ernest but then they started to do the movies and well they are just down right BAD!!! my husband though loves them. there isn't a week that goes by where he isn't watching them. and i really cant stand the movies that the wayne's brothers did/ like scary movie or epic movie although their out look on 'not another teen movie" was okay but it wasnt' great. another really bad series of movies i would have to say was the "dark crystal" i know its old and for its time it was pretty cool. but i think now that it is a waist of time. as for reciently bad movies: the blare witch, and the first "incredible hulk" the second version was so much better.

As a kid I thought Ernest Goes to Camp was hilarious. I know better now...however, something about the recurring gag of the car running through the whole movie always makes me giggle. But yeah, Jim Varney movies tend to be, er...

CARNiVAL HOLOCAUST!! the movie was like the most groosing and stomach-sickening movie of all! Can you imagine the nausea of watching and or feeling of eating a real human flesh meat alive? The movie may is under the documentary genre but STILL, it brings no good to the movie watchers. So if you want to watch a good movie, look for the one that's entertaining and at the same time, value-feeding...not that one that brings out the nausea in you! LOL :D

The Worst movie I've yet subjected myself to has to be the Alleged Comedy "Epic Movie".. Not that many Gags, and ALL of those were weak ones, strung together using awful Actor Doubles and a ripped off movie premise...totally unfunny..I'm still getting flashbacks of how BAD it was!

I am glad I don't watch movies anymore. If this is the state that movies are in then I don't miss watching them at all. I only watch movies when HBO plays them otherwise I would not know what is happening in the cinema world. If I don't like what I am watching I just change channels. Ain't cable wonderful?

It sucks when good movies get a bad reputation so no one watches them, and when bad movies get a good reputation,so everyone ends up watching them and hating them,I would say that I can think of two movies that are the worst things I have ever seen, one is The Village, which it was kind of good, until you find out that the demon things are just people in masks, which kind of made me lose all interest in the movie, and the other movie that I hated was Secret Window because I spent the whole movie just trying to figure out what was going on,because it made no sense whatsoever to me,and my mom who was also watching, said that it made no sense to her either.

good day... this movie had got me sleeping form the start to the end and I was expecting a good movie because of this famous actor...Seven years in Tibet. There were movies much worse out there, I know but I already expected that much specially when the actors/actress aren't famous or award winning. But this particularly movie stunned because of Brad Pitt and made me sleep as long as 7 years.

Dear beeeckie, I know most film books will talk about Plan 9 From Outer Space being the worst film and it is really dreadful because it's simply so cheaply made with night becoming day instantly and aliens being mixed with vampires. However, we need to adapt the question to chose the worst movie relative to it's budget, otherwise I can make the worst film myself in the garden. My answer would be Waterworld. All the best from Deutschieland. Umart

That is a very good point of view, and a much better way to characterize bad movies. :) Luckily I have never seen Waterworld, but I try to avoid Kevin Costner movies like the bubonic plague!

Hi beeeckie, Glad to see you appreciate my system, but it would be too complicated a question to ask on MyLot. Have you actually sat down and watched Plan 9 from Outer Space. I would be surprise if you saw it. Poor old Kevin Cosner! You are very hard on him:-) Bye from Irish man in Germany UMart

The worst movie I have ever seen was Cloverfield. I hated that movie. It was only 1 hr long. The first 15 minutes did not need to be in the movie, they were just interviewing people in a party to say goodbye to their friend who was going away. Then another 10 minutes of the movie were of the floor because it was filmed as if the people in the show's camera was recovered so when they ran all you could see were feet. I was acutally sitting there saying to myself "WOW! I cannot beleive I paid $9.25 to see this movie...."

Well I'm sure there have been worse movies that I just can't remember at the moment, but I have to say a lot of the movies that Will Ferrell is in are pretty awful. Anchorman being the worst I think, followed by Bewitched. Bewitched could have been a cute movie with Nicole Kidman and someone else but he pretty much ruined it. Sad. I also wasn't a fan of Blades of Glory. I'm not against stupid movies though, I did actually like Napoleon Dynamite, Billy Madison, etc. Maybe I'm just against Will Ferrell lol. Although I did like Old school, but not necessarily his character.

I do not watch that many movies but my son brought a video movie home last winter that was the worst movie I have ever seen. He is thirty five and I wanted to wack him he was so awful It was called Nacho Libre and I guess you have to be Hispanic to enhoy the humor that was supposedly in the movie but to me it was yucky, stupid, and in very poor taste and disquisting.

I don't know if I've ever seen any terrible movies. The only movie that I just absolutely could not get into was "It". There were people telling me how scary it was (I'm a big fan of horror movies) and I just couldn't see where they were coming from. Other than that, I can't think of any off the top of my head.

I saw Lady In The Water for the first time recently and it was terrible. Very poorly written. I watch a lot of films on the SciFi channel on Saturdays so I could probably add most of those films to this list, lol. I remember seeing a film called Birds about killer birds, of course. And the was pretty bad and predictable. But I love watching those kind of bad movies.

Well I can't think of the worst movie I have ever seen. However, I can comment on the worst recent movie I have seen. This movie would have to be "The Happening". I would say this movie was a major let down. The scenes didn't flow well. The lead up to the plot is way too slow. The plot itself is horrible. The suspenseful scenes are not at all suspenseful. The comedic scenes would be funny if the movies had a better flow. I am trying to be vague in case someone is actually planning to go see it. Anyhow, I was so disappointed by this movie. The funny thing is I generally research the movies reviews before I go see it. This was my attempt to take a risk and just go and see it. Well some great idea that was.
