Many people think of homeschooling as a benefit, and many do not. What do you think, and why?

Definitely its not a good choice!! It is not as effective as that of the school!! And the student will miss the enjoyable period of life.. If he is handicapped or something like that Homeschooling is the best!! Student gets bored while he is alone..!

I do not think home schooling is a good idea. It leaves an effect on the child mentally. If the child does not meet a lot of kids his/her age it's going to be different for him. He will grow socially awkward. It will be hard for him to face people in the future. Come college, it will be hell for him if he does not meet the right people first. The experience that real school gives is not only for learning skills and knowledge but also for those extra curriculars that builds you as a whole.

As a more antisocial person, I've attempted to cajole my mom and dad to get me homeschooled numerous times. I think that if the baseline is established in a public school, a student will be more successful than they would be if they were homeschooled their whole life. Of course, having a qualified teacher helps too... (READ: The first comment) It's very convenient, and usually you can go your own speed, but Other than that, there aren't many express benefits to it, though. ~~Becky Ann

I personally don't think home schooling is a good idea. Are the parents who home school their kids really qualified to do so? I know someone who home schooled thier child and that parent can't even spell. Her spelling is horrible and I am speaking from first hand knowledge since I work with her. The kids who are home schooled miss out on the social aspects of being educated with other kids. That is important as well. You need to know how to socialize and deal with people as well as have an education. I also know someone who decided to home school her son because he was not getting along with some of the kids at school. It ended up that she wasn't able to complete the home schooling with him and he never went back to school either. There are probably instances where home schooling does work out for some, but I just think public or private schools are better in the long run.
