Animals, what do we consider as animals? Usually we talked about animals having rights to live and not to be disturbed. But aren't what we humans do now are contradicting to that rights of animals? Killing animals to gain a source of food, producing massive life stocks in the future for humankind sustain. What if it is true that animals have rights? Then are we human should stop killing animals? What should we eat for food then?
And what if, animals don't have rights? Can we murder all the animals in the world because we humans owns every thing on earth? I believe human do have such authority to dominate over animals and all other species in the world.
What's your opinion in this vague yet specific topic?

I believe that animals have rights. We as humans have no problems with developing office complexes, housing, malls, but then some of these structures are where some of out wild life lives. So when a bear appears on someone's porch there is panick. Well that bear used to visit that same spot before you decided to build a house there. we are pushing these animals out, they have nowhere to go, and then there becomes a bear hunt, because now they are in inhabitated areas.
I hate this. Every year in NJ there is a bear hunt, because of the reason I stated above. It is so unfair. Where are these animals supposed to go????????????

Animals are very important for our nurishment to survive. They are also essential to us for companionship. I look at it like this. There are some types of animals that we look to for food and there are others we look to for companionship. As long as we are not abusing the situation by taking what we do not need, it seems resonable to exercise our right to using animals for food but I would never back up humans killing animals just to kill.

I agree, I have never liked the idea of hunting as a sport. These animals have a right to live their life the way the live it until they die. Makes no sense to kill an animal just to have a trophy to put on your wall.

There also would be the problem of taking too much and leaving generations ahead of us, to cope with how to clean up our mess. Our animals need time to reproduce; therefore illiminating the chance of exstinction.

I myself do not eat meat and believe that other animals do have the right to not be treated harmfully. But my partner does hunt and eat meat. I think that like a lion or bear that it is natural for them to eat other animals. What makes us different is how we treat them before they are killed and is what is important. Those chickens, cows and pigs that live horrible lives in cages just to be slaughtered is horrible. Let them live free range and not abused like so many are.

Yes, it is true that animals have their rights, but only until certain limits that the rights can be truly shown. For example, we humans only tried to preserve endangered species that almost extinct, we don't see a group of environmentalists rallied and protest to save a herd of cattle in the farm.
I believe that, we human really have given a thoughts whether animals deserve their rights or not, based on our logic and rational judgement. There's a reason why we are blessed with such sophisicated brain, able to rule over other species in the world.
I have a funny thought that would like to share with you all, can we human being refrain from killing a single animal in a day? As for me, I think that it is rather impossible to do so.

Who is animals? humans are also animals but the
highest form of animals God ever created.
I'm lucky God created me as a highest animal. Humans have
rights to live free, away from disturbance, and danger.
If all of us created by God so animals also have rights
to live like we did.

I don't think animals should have rights, not the same amount as a human for example. As much as it is in the nature of a human to love animals, many of them do not do much to benefit our survival. For anyone who states otherwise, 99% of species which have existed over time are now extinct, and we're fine (for now... global warming may pose as a threat). The only animals that should be cared for to some extent are the producers of food and animal products (cows, pigs) or other animals which are significantly important to our survival. I know it's all delicately linked, but there is a reason why certain animals become extinct: they are simply unfit for survival. Take the dodo for example, which was absolutely retarded and did not flee from predators. I think we should stop wasting all our time on conserving animals and instead spend more time on making so this world won't destroy itself (which is sort of in the same area: environmental conservation).

I think that animals do have rights, but certain animals like cows and pigs were created to made into food, while other animals like dogs and cats were created to be loyal friends, and turning them into food is wrong in my opinion, that is why I refuse to go to any country or any restaurant that sells the food of a country that eats dogs or cats or any other animal that should not be eaten.

Hello Hajime86,
Yes animal do have right and we have no power to torture this beautiful creature. God have create animal for human can gain more food resource but some people manipulate the give from God for his own and cause the existent for some creature been threaten.

Of course they do have their rights. As humans it's our responsibility to take care of them although sometimes we have to eat them for us to sustain and continue living. It's the natural law that we eat animals right? but killing them brutally is not really good.

I believe that we as people have full domain over the animals, given to us by God. With this we are resposible for treating the animals firly and humanley. Animals feel pain and having pets seem to feel neede and loved by us and if not domesticated by there own kind. This is just my opinion on the subject.
