Legit complaints?

OK, so I don't want to whine about what is going on with me. Today just has thrown me a lot of curveballs. But hey, I'm trying to look at it all as an adventure right? I'd like to hear about any legit problems, or complaints you're having. I know we get tired of hearing people complain, but what about the real issues that we deal with, yet are hesitant to mention because of the fear of being labeled a whiner? So please, fill me in on what is going on with you, and tell me all about anything you want to. Maybe online is about the only place some of us can speak about these problems...

I have a beautiful tree in my backyard that my neighbor has hated for many years...It does get shabby and sometimes it overgrows and when the power company comes along and trims it well it looks horrible. So the other day my neighbor came over and was going to trim it....five hours later there's not alot left and he has found someone to take it down for me for free......but I hate to see it go. One of my other neighbors came over and said he didn't see any rotting.....but there is some rotting in the trunk....and I can see where it might split.....I know this sounds trival but it's like an old friend. Friday they are going to take it down and I'll probably cry. It will need to come down someday....so might as well take it down when I can get it done for no charge....I just don't want to let it go...

jillhill....is it an option for you to have an "arborist" have a quick look at it? You may have other options? I hate to see you lose a dear friend!

Well, you certainly have a good attitude and I hope it turns out to be a good adventure. Actually, I do have a whine today. Somehow I hurt my back...my lower back...and I'm pretty miserable off and on. It started on Monday with a pain shooting down the outside of my left leg and them settled itslef in my back later on in the day. I can't sit for too long which is pretty inconvenient since I work at a desk all day, I can't find a comfortable position when I'm driving and sleeping hasn't been too much fun either. My friend told me that she had something similar, which turned out to be her siatic (I'm sure I mispelled that) nerve and that it just takes time to heal. So, I'm taking Tylenol and trying to be gentle with it...and whiiiiining!

As soon as you mentioned the pain going down your leg I thought of sciatica. My mom and I have that problem sometimes too. Several trips to the chiropractor got rid of it for me, but only until one day when I did too much again. If I could go back to the chiropractor I would, but I can't afford it. A real one, not a quack, can really do wonders for that. Now I just try to rest a whole lot when it acts up again. Whatever happens, I hope the pain lessens very soon. It is not a fun thing at all!

It could also be a herniated disc - have you tried lying down on your back with your legs raised and propped on 4-5 cushions? that helped relieve the pain at night and I actually slept like that for a few hours. Other than taking advil, I eventually went to physiotherapy and that got rid of the pain altogether. A Neurologist suggested surgery but I wasn't having it. Physio did the job.

I have herniated discs, but they don't bother me when my leg is raised. I went to the ER a couple weeks ago and he had me lie down. He raised up my leg and I screeched, yep it was the sciatica. LOL They told me long ago I could have surgery on the discs but I'd end up having it every five years if I had it all. Who the heck wants to have surgery every five years? I mean wouldn't that gradually get a person to where they are worse off having had the surgery?

I don't really have much to whine about..My little sister has been in the hospital since Monday. They first thought it was her appendix going to burst because she was in alot of pain now they think that she has gallbladder problems. She hasn't eaten in a week or really drunk anything she has lost over ten pounds already She is constantly freezing although her temp is high and doctors are saying they can't keep her fever down under 101.5 it is usually the last few days spiking to 104.7. And they have run a ton of test and still can't find all that is wrong with her they said she has a severe bacteria infection in her system and her body can't fight it. What pissed me off more was that even her running such high temperatures prior to her hospital stay my step-dad refused to take her Friday,Saturday and Sunday to the emergency room. My mom told him ot take her or else she would take the car herself..she isn't supposed to be driving right now. So he finally took her. Why are some men so darn stubborn?aka stupid.

I know that is why I said some men, not all men. Well she got to come home this evening but she still has to take it easy and keep up her antibiotics and other meds. They finally got her fever to stabilize last night, I guess with the help of the antibioctics running through her system that is what helped. My step-dad argued that it was just a virus no need to take her to docs for it. Thankfully my mom persisted because docs said outcome wouldn't have been good if left untreated. The bacteria was through her whole system and was affecting her kidneys and liver also. I guess I will also be changing my toilet seat which is a vinyl one wth sponge. They can hold and absorb bacteria and then transfer it to the next person sitting down. That is what the Doctor said. Also he says that Plastic seat as well can retain bacteria. It is best to clean with Clorox cleaning wipes before using the toilet especially if it is at someone else house.

Men don't ever think they need to go to the hospital, but it's not fair to force that philosophy on anyone else. I hope your sister gets well soon. That temperature is a scary one. Keep us updated, OK?

Nothing unusual to whine about today. Although I am sick of the high gas prices, who isn't? You're right. This is a good place to vent. Its much easier to come here and get problems off your chest and get objective opinions about matters.

We don't even have buses here and we live so far out in the country we can't walk or ride a bike to the store. The gas prices haven't gone down much here.

I read today that gas in my state is the cheapest gas in the country right now. So many people are having trouble getting to work because of shortage of money for gas, that I wonder how everyone else is coping if our gas is cheapest. I mean sure there are buses, but a person actually has to find a way to get to the bus stop.

Well, today when I woke up, I almost passed out a couple times. I think it's some inner ear thing or sinus infection messing with my equilibrium. My head was swimming for hours. Still haven't hashed it out, yet. It comes and goes. I'm better now, but I fear that tomorrow it will be back. I should have known something bad was going to happen cause I woke up yesterday almost completely deaf. My ears were stopped up big time. Sounded as if people were talking to me through a blanket. Very weird sensation. Then today, same thing happened, but I got dizzy every time I closed my eyes, stood up, leaned over, etc. Lots of people think it's related to fluid in the ear and I'm thinking so too. Last week I had that really bad pain in my hands, think it was tendinitis, so I couldn't post on Mylot everyday. But other than that, I think I'm OK now. What about you? Talk to me. What's going on with you? It's OK to talk with friends online. So what's up?

If it is an inner ear infection I hope you can get in to see someone. Those things are awful and pretty painful! My dad gets a lot of those because his eardrum has burst twice in his lifetime. You know I get migraines, but I have to say that the second worst thing to me is an ear infection. And I know what you mean about everything sounding like it is coming through a blanket! You describe that sensation very well! My problems aren't that bad. I just got a lot dumped on me yesterday I didn't expect. A family illness, a huge red tape thing going on with one of my caseworkers, and an upsetting call with my doctor. Nothing I can't handle, that's for sure! : )

Ok, where to start. My kids are having a drive mummy up the wall since the start of the day week. It would be nice to not be woken up first thing in the morning hearing 'I want'. I want my baby out!!!!! Officially, I'm not due for another 2 and a bit weeks, but i reckon I am further along. I should know this being baby #5 and all! I want my body back! I want to be able to start and finish a task without having to pee every 5 mins! The rain. While it has been nice, and has filled up our dams etc, it has done nothing to help me keep up with the washing or get the lawns mowed. We are going to have a couple of days of no rain, and then back to it for at least another week! 2 days is not enough to catch up on the washing or to get the lawns mowed (need to be quite dry or the lawn mower struggles). Gosh, lets see, I have constant food cravings that are driving my partner up the wall!!!! They change about every 5 mins (must be linked to the toilet issue mentioned above). Right now, I want apple pie with ice cream and whipped cream, just before, it was hot dogs! I can't get the email on my laptop to work, so have wasted yet another $20. Oh, and to top it off, I've just responded to this discussion and now feel like I am the biggest winger in the world!

Thanks. Even if I wasn't pregnant, being a woman, it is my responsibility to drive my husband up the wall with my complaining. Can't let the men think I don't rule the roost, or I might end up with their wives telling me to get with the real world!!!! LOL.

I don't have anything to whine about today but I am happy to say that my husband is coming home tommorrow. He just left on Tuesday but the computer equipment hasn't arrived and won't get their till 4th August, so no use in staying in Guatemala for two weeks doing nothing. YAY my son and I are happy about that.

LOL--well hate to disappoint you Ambie, but right at the moment I have absolutely nothing to really whine about...that IRS check issue has been resolved, I have some money to "burn" and I'm happy as a clam right now. My most perplexing issue...LOL...is trying to pick out a new bed for myself...the bed I've been sleeping on is a 47 year old bedframe...and my mattress is about 20 years old, so I've been real comfortable..NOT..I've been driving myself daft looking through websites looking at beds ..my dilemma? I'm trying to find something really nice...I look at it as almost an "investment" with the money I have...I don't want to rush...also, I would like to get one of those captains type beds with a bookcase headboard...problem? My kitties are going to be real miffed at me...they like to go under my bed, they won't be able to do that if I get a captain's bed..sheesh. And talk about being out of touch...looking at mattresses on-line too...crap, never realized they're so much now.

I am not asking for whining, I'm asking for legit complaints. And I think a costly mattress is a legit complaint! The last one I got was from a person in my church. He and his wife bought it, slept on it for a week and didn't think it fit their needs, so they gave it to me because they knew I was having trouble sleeping on the twin bed I had because of my back. Now I have a very nice pillow top mattress. I'm happy with it and have no idea how I'd afford it otherwise.

I actually have nothing to complain about. A few months ago I was a whiner, and I had complaint after compliant that never seemed to end. I do not know what happened but I have absolutely nothing to complain about now. Strange.

Well we don't want any whiners, which people seem to think I'm talking about judging by some of the responses I'm getting. I was just wanting to let people with legitimate complaints air any frustrations. I'm glad you have nothing to complain about, but if you do, I'll still be here! : )

Hope some of those curveballs were hit out of the park Ambie. From my view its alright to complain and let off steam about your life. Its needed, plus you may get another perspective on it upon review or from friends. Then there are the words of comfort which come from sharing difficulties. All of this is one reason I hold the free-for-all (speaking of which I should throw up one... its been awhile). I mean its not just fun and games there; if something is bothering you its allowed there too. Nothing much going on here. Just some hard work and some long days here and there. Maybe I should take another vacation? Probably too soon.

hi ambiepam good for you to think of curveballs as an adventure and that will make it better for you. I am trying to take this living with the remnants of shingles as an adventure now I am on a medication to stop the nerve pain and a mild pain killer also. they are gettin much smaller and do not zap me nearly as much its sort of like getting shocked when walking across a carpet and touching a light switch. lol So I am getting much better and can bear to wear my clothes for a few hours now. I guess it is sort of an adventrure at that.
