I can only play the guitar and If i were to grade myself from one to ten im a two. LOL. Its a pity but its the truth, i learned playing it all by myself and its a relief that I can play simple songs with simple chords. I wanted to learn to play the piano but im not confident enough to learn it. Im really not a talented person when it comes to music but I love to sing and listen to songs.
How about you what instrument can you?
Hope you share here and enjoy mylotting
Have a nice day!

I played the clarinet in highschool but I don't think I would remember how to play it now of someone put one in my hand. It is hte only thing I ever learned how to play except those little toy keyboards I can play When The Saints Go Marching In on one of those.

I play the piano. I am not too good. But I am hoping to one day get allot better. See I don't know how to read music anymore so I learn from sight and from hearing it.

When I was younger I tried to learn how to play the guitar but I got bored of it and quit, when I was in the seventh grade I played the trombone for half a semester in the band,I was pretty good at playing it,but I got tired of the band director so I quit, I may have been the first to quit, but I was not the last, three out of four trombone players quit, and several of the drummers, right now I can not play any instruments though I am pretty good at drumming on things, and I would love to learn how to play the drums one day.

Why do you say that drums are for men only?I think that anyone can play the drums, and I have seen plenty of females play the drums just as good,if not better than some men ,have a great day, good luck in your life, and Happy Posting.

I guess I am sort of a multi-instrumentalist. The problem is, I keep seeing different instruments I want to learn. The good thing is, learning a new instrument tends to help me in music overall so the skills translate onto other instruments too.
So far, I play the following instruments fairly fluently:
Piano, guitar, chromatic harmonica, viola, violin, melodica
I can play these, but I'm not too great yet:
Autoharp (can't play melody on it yet, only chords/strum patterns), Irish tinwhistle
And the latest thing I've been trying to learn:
Tumbi
I probably practice the chromatic harmonica the most out of all of these.

I taught myself piano starting out playing by ear as a child. I learned viola in middle school and stuck with it in high school, when I went to a very music centered school.
At college I learned guitar and then joined the ensemble.
I taught myself harmonica starting when I was 8 years old. And then melodica I picked up pretty quickly because it is similar to a piano mixed with a harmonica type sound.
Mostly I teach myself, but I really do enjoy taking music classes too and whenever I can I like to take them. But a lot of instruments I want to play don't really have classes around here.
Next summer I'm finally going back to doing orchestra, which should be good because being in a group always inspires me to practice more.

WOW!!
How did you manage to learn to play so many instruments?
Did you go to music school or take classes, or did your friends teach you? Or did you just teach yourself? :)

I took piano lessons myself years ago. I have a keyboard that I play around with . I'm not that great but like you I can play simple songs on it. I alwyas have wanted to learn how to play drums myself. I use to sing in church years ago. If I was able to stand up longer then I am able to now. I still might would get up and sing.

In our church we dont have women who play the keyboard, if I only have the talent to I would really really love to play for the Lord, to sing praises and songs to HIm. But maybe in time if given the chance to learn how to play the keyboard.

I have no real music talent. I almost learned guitar one summer at my uncle's but summer was over and we went home. My son and stepdaughter played clarinet in high school. My grand daughter who is 13 is playing the french horn. My "talent" was ballet and theater. I took ballet for 10 years and I loved acting in little theater.

You know what, if you want to learn something go for it. YOu don't need to be playing in an orchestra, but it will bring you pleasure and that's what's important.
I love music but am not too fond of specialization. I've learned to play a few instruments. I am not a master at any, but I can enjoy playing each one of them. MY first one was piano, then in school flute and guitar. Later on I tried my hand at drums. I actually even tried cello and accordion LOL The last one was bass guitar because I like it so much. If I was to choose the one I play the worse I would say the accordion, the one I play the best maybe the guitar.

I play guitars. I started learning that when I was still in high school. It was so cool since my parents were the ones who taught me how to play such instrument. My father even bought a new guitar for me aside from his old one. It was so great.

I tried learning how to play the guitar... but had no time to continue with it... so now... i am left with not knowledge of playing any instrument...

Well, we have to give time to things which we feel are important to us and I feel that playing a musical instyrument is not that important to you for you are not spending enough time, maybe you are busy doing other important things and that fine my friend. Maybe sooner or later you can find time.
