I would be extremely irritated when someone enter my bedroom without knocking the door. I always mention to my family members to knock the door before they come into my room. Sometimes I might be too concentrate on the computer, online and surfing,if they don't knock the door,I will not hear any sounds, end up I will get frightened by them for entering my room quietly. After a few incidents liked this,I have strongly point out to them. Furthermore, bedroom is a very private place for me,I want people to respect my privacy too. How about you? Do you feel the same way as me? Or do you have different opinions? Please share, thanks.

i sure do. i have even locked the door and while i was trying to sleep my sister found a key and opened my door to look around my room for something that i did not have. i was really upset. i feel the same as you that it is a lack of respect and privacy.

well my family is big so i have to share my rooom. i don't really mind when people enter my room without knocking cause in my house every room is kinda open to everyone. what irritates me is when they go through my stuff without asking cause i feel like thats invasion of privacy. plus i am kind of a neat freak and they always mess up my stuff after i spent hours to get it neat. THAT really ticks me off

It is common curtisy to knock befor entering anyones room I think. I have had this done to me numerious imes when I had roommates which I don't anymore thank god now it's just me. I would get rather irratated when they did this for I felt they were invadeing my privacy by just walking in with no warning and start talking to me.
I don't blame you for laying out the fact to your family that you wish them to knock first befor entering it's only the right thing to do.
