I think it is a great Idea, you will save a lot of Gas. Did you notice that the Gas price is coming down, I notice this yesterday. I purchase some for $3.76 now I thought that was a bargain. What are you paying right now for gas. I want to see if anybody else is paying something cheaper than what I am paying. If you are that is real good! have a nice week-end!

My hubby has started car pooling with 2 other guys who work at the same place. He's had to. His commute is about 35 miles each way and with the gas prices, he was spending about $10 a day just in gas. They drive to a parking lot and meet up there, the each one takes a week of driving. So every 3 weeks my hubby drives. They don't give each other money for gas, since they're taking turns. And the company for which they work does give them $1 for each passenger they take in the car pool, which also helps.

Our gas just went down again. My hubby and I just made a trip from Cincinnati to northern Michigan to see my mom. When we left Cincinnati on Wednesday, the gas was $3.77 here and $4.22 in northern Michigan. The next day, the gas had dropped to $3.98 in Michigan and today when I filled up here in Cincinnati, it was $3.66. Plus, I filled up at Kroger and got 10 cents off, so it was only $3.56. Yippee! (Can you imagine doing the happy dance a year or two ago...for $3.56 in gas?????)

I am not carpooling as of yet since I am the only one at my office that lives in my area. Everyone else lives close to work my company is located. Gas prices have gone down here as well though not as low as what you paid for recently. Ours is as low as $3.82 right now and hope that it keeps going down a lot more. The more it goes down the better our economy will be, though still needs other improvements as well. I am sure we will all be keeping our eyes glued on the changing gas prices.

Thank goodness i live in NYC and i don't need to drive. i took a trip to my son's college last week. i had my cousin drive us and it cost me almost $200 to get there and back. i was shocked. thank goodness living here i can hope a bus or train to go where i need to go. all though, i think car pooling is a great idea. it saves gas and it saves the environment.

yeah, I just contacted the commuter student association at the college I am going to be starting at in the fall to see if there is someone in my area that I could carpool with. I have about a 20-30 min drive to campus and it would be great to share the cost of the gas and everything. $3.76 is a deal! Here in Pittsburgh, I think it is still up at $3.98 or $3.99. The store that I shop at though, gives "fuel perks" for every $50 you spend, you get $.10 off a gallon for gas at their gas station.

yeah we have GE all over the place here. I think I have three in a 5 mile radius! The food is a little more expensive but I am a good bargain shopper and there is stuff that I buy that I really can only get at GE. Import stuff and organic stuff mostly but I buy very little of it and only the stuff that I can not live without.

I don't drive, so the only way or me to really get anywhere is to carpool with someone else. My low vision is not a disadvantage for me. It has simply taught me that I don't eed to rely on my own car, the way most people hink they do. If I can live without driving, why do so many people think they can not do the exact same thing?

since I dont work, I dont need to carpool and since we live an hour away from my husbands work in the opposite direction to any of his coworkers carpooling for him really isnt an option..... ALSO since I dont drive I couldnt tell you what my husband has been paying but according to some sites online (I just checked) around here its roughly around $4.20 which if I remember correctly is pretty much the same as its been or only a tad lower compared to lets say amonth ago..

Gas prices have dropped here in Florida also. I don't carpool, I'm blessed that my job is 6 miles from my home. I did ride the bus to work for about a month to save on gas and money. Due to our rainy season, I feared I would be standing in the rain waiting on a bus because there's no shelter. So I decided to keep driving to work. I continue to count my blessings because there are many folks without jobs, I'm blessed to have one to go to.

We do not car pool, but we do get our gas at Canada Tire and they have a discount for those who pay by credit card. Our gas is about $1.35 a liter, and I am not that good at mathematics. but I think it works out to $4.00 or more a gallon and possibly more. For those who work at the same place or going to the same place, car pooling is a good idea, but what if you only work four hours and the other person eight? What if the others who work there do not live in the same neighborhood that you do? That is the only problem I have with car pooling.

I'm not carpooling because I work from home, thank God. My husband also works close to home so we really do not have to worry too much about these high gas prices. I feel sorry for everyone who has to pay the high prices though. That sucks. People can barely afford to live anymore. That is why we work seven days a week. Gas is just under $4.00 here in Indiana. It sounds like you are getting a really good deal.

I don't carpool and don't think I will for a couple of reasons. The main one being is that I am self employed and don't have set hours, I like to work on my own schedule and don't want to be tied down to some one else's schedule. Other reasons are: 1. I am just not that predictable 2. I don't want my schedule to be mandated by what someone else has to do 3. Though I don't like the prices of gas going up, I consider it a non-negotiable gotta have, so I buy and keep it moving. I don't think gas is that low in my area, but I don't really pay attention, when I need to fill up I buy at the closest place and don't really bargain shop for a couple of cents difference. I figure I will use that up in trying to find a cheaper place.

Hey there marciascott I try to car pool whenever I can. The gas in England is still quite expensive but to be honest I have an idea of how much I am going to put in like £10 or £15 and don't look at how much gas I got for my money because there is nothing I can do about the fuel prices!

Isn't it nice that gas is coming down. it still stinks when we think that we are getting a bargain. Gas needs to come down lots more. Diesal fuel has to come down too. The cost of fuel is hurting all of us. It needs to come down below $2 a gallon again.

I don't car pool because my work schedule is different everyday making it hard to do that. Though there are several people that live close to me that work where I work. I only live about 7 miles from work so that isn't too bad. I have noticed the price of gas coming down, and it is about $3.92 here where I live in Southern Indiana. Looks like it is cheaper where you are living. It would be great if it would come down to about $3.00, but I won't hold my breath on that happening.
