Do you have a diningroom?

Do you have a diningroom or do you have a table in your kitchen to eat from? I have a diningroom in my new place and I really want to show it off to my friends here in mylot so that is the main reason why I am starting this discussuon. Just kidding. Here is a picture of my new diningroom and it is where I do all of my eating. I don't sit in front of the TV anymore, like I used to, to eat as it is distracting and I have learned that to eat properly we need to concentrate of our food and that way we don't eat as much. I learned this from Oprah. It is apparently the best way to eat, being conscious of everything we are eating, so we tend to eat less that way. So it has worked for me, as I do tend to eat less if I am thinking about and enjoying every mouthful. So my question is do you eat at a specific place, like your diningroom or kitchen or do you just sit anywhere, like in front of the TV, when you are eating?

Yes, I have a dining room too. Not so large as yours. So I feel a bit shy to show it off to myLot friends ! Ha ha ! Just kidding too ! I hope you don't mind. But, it is a nice comfortable room. I always sit down in my dining room sor breakfasts, lunches, and dinners.

It's indeed true. Multi tasking while eating will only make us eat more than we should. I am trying to kick that bad habit. I do have a dining room. It's really small. We have a big table and 4 chairs. It's just enough for my family of 4. If we have visitors, we'll move extra tables and chairs out from the storeroom.

And it is a good way to help lose weight as we then concentrate more on what we are eating and we tend to eat less too, since we are thinking about it. That is a good idea to have an extra table you can pull out when you have company.

i really dont have fixed place to sit and eat... some times (most often) i eat sitting in the kitchen table, some times when we have visitors we eat at the dining table, some times before the television, and some times even before the computer.

I have to admit that at times I do eat in front of the computer. On those days I am motivated to a lot of posting so while I am motivated I don't want to loose the momentum so I will eat in front of the computer. That is when I probably do more reading than I do responding or commenting. Or my food gets really cold and I don't really taste any of it, so it doesn't matter.

Hmm, your picture didn't come out. I have a diningroom which we use when my daughter and the grandkids come over but, when it's just my husband and me after a long day, we normally eat in front of the television. He uses a tv tray but I use the coffe table because I'm too lazy to drag one of the trays over to the couch when that table is already there.

diningroom - my diningroom and table
I know, and I don't know why it didn't. Also my tags didn't post either and I had to go back and enter them again and again they didn't show and so I had to do it again and this time they show. It must be a problem with mylot as this has happened to a few of my discussions today and I have to enter the tags again and sometimes again, before they show. I will post the picture again and hopefully this time it will show, thanks and I hope you don;t mind that I post it in this comment.

Yes, I have a dining room but we rarely use it. Only my husband and I are left at home now so we get lazy and eat in the living room while watching tv. LOL! I never allowed my children to do so when they were growing up. The dining room table is used when we entertain. Otherwise it's a stop over place for extra paper work and gradkids' projects like Play-doh and painting.

Dinning Room?? What is that?? Lol just kiding. I do not have a dinnig room. Instead I made it into another living room complete with couches and chairs and even a second TV. I am also 29 and have no kids. If I ever have kids then I will have a dinning room table. I think it is good for the children to see there family eat together as one, brings the family closer. Growing up my family always ate together and to this day we get together at least once a week. I do not however find it neccisary for myself at this time to eat at a dinning room table

We have barstools along the counter that one can eat at. When we first moved in here we used to sit there frequently. We almost never sit there now. We have a dining room but never replaced our dining set after the hurricane. Instead we have a playground where the table should be. It has a small swing and slide for our two year old. We generally eat in the living room. My husband likes to have the tv on and I hate it. When we move again, which will probably be in the next year or so I plan on getting a new dining room set.

We have a teeny dining room (our whole house right now is pretty small!) It is open to the kitchen, so it isn't too separate, but they have different flooring & wall colors so I consider it to be a dining room. We did have a tv in there for a short time but I HATE having a tv on during dinner so I disconnected it :)

Of course we have a dining room. We have a formal dining area where we eat when we have guests over. But most of the time we eat in the family dining area which is connected to the main kitchen. It's cozier and less formal. SOmetimes when I'm eating by myself, I do like to just eat in front of the TV. My mom always reprimands me though so I only do it when no one is around the house.

I always eat in our dining room. Our dining room is also where we eat breakfast , I know some houses have their own breakfast room. In our dining room, we have a tv where we always watch while we eat. I have to say that when you have a tv in your dining room, the family members talk less. We also have another bigger dining room which is only use for special occasions and holidays. There is no tv there. +o) Sometimes when I am alone I just bring my food to my room and eat it there.

It seems that it's really a good change to you.I think it's a good habit to eat efore some special place.Usually I'd like to eat before a table, and usually the same table. But I always eat very fast.Sometimes for example when I washed a lot of dirty clothes and tidy my room and tidy myself and cooked some healthy food and sit before somewhere, it can be very good feeling. It's like I told myself I tidy everything of me from now on.I have a new beginning.I think you may have the similar feeling as I had at some points:)

yes we do. it is the room between the hall and the kitchen room. It has a 6 seater dining teble of wood and all the required vessels placed on it. we have our refridgerator too kept in the same room. so that we do not need to go to kitchen to get water.

Well we have a dining room but we dont use it much... we also have a table in our kitchen so we generally eat there as it's a lot easier... however if there is a lot of people over then we will use the dining room table... if we dont need to use it it generally has loads of clean washing on it

What a beautiful Dining Room! We have a dining room that we eat in too. It certainly isn't as nice as yours. We eat all of our meals at the dining room table. One thing I always insist on is eating dinner together!

I think I sit just about everywhere except at the table! I love to sit and watch t.v. while I eat. My schedule is always pretty hectic unfortunatly. It's very difficult to get everyone together at the same time to sit down and eat as a family at the table, even though I would kinda like that. The only time we all sit together and eat at the table is at holidays.

I eat in the dinning room all the time, if I am at home. All most all the houses in my area have a dinning room. People like sitting around the table to enjoy the foods. Family members will talk about what has happened at the day. It's a real family time for our family. It's good.

My boyfriend and I do sit down at the diningroom table to eat most of the time. We do enjoy this. The only problem is that the diningroom is in the livingroom where we have a tv! So, you guessed it, he turns the tv on most of the time while we're eating! So much for that concentrating on the food thing. Sometimes we do eat without the tv, but not very often.

We have a table in our kitchen, although our place is big, we prefer it to be in the kitchen because it's more easy to serve food. And its more accesible for the whole family because if we put it to another area, it will be a bit far for everyone.
