Need another Star Trek TV series

Star Trek NG, Star Trek DS9, Star Trek Voyager, and Enterprise came o to our TV sets within short span of time between each series. Now that Enterprise ended, there hasnt been any talk about making a new TV series. Yes, the movie has suffered a long span of time since the last movie as well. What are your ideas of a new Trek TV series if the producers and studio execs asked you? Mine would be to take it further, we did the past, we had 3 series in the NG period, lets take it another century forward....per NG series, the Federation still exist in the 27th century.

i dunno. i really liked all the series except enterprise. they lost me with that one. if they would to it right then maybe i can be won back. but to me they shouldn't have gone back in time. but i was really into the others.

Enterprises filled that one gap on how the Federation came to be, now all they can do is go forward. Backwards is already done, except for the next movie which is sort of stepping back too.

There was a four color poster out on the new movie which had the faces of Kirk, Spock, Uhura and the Romulan/Remulan villian. Zachary Quinto definitely looks like a young Spock! The others dont have the look. Lost the link unfortunately. I am also anxious to see this new flick!

From what I understand, there will be no more Star Trek shows. Movies may be another story...

From what I heard, it is sad that there is no more TV series. Maybe after the writers' strike, they may get it rolling again.

There is another animated series in development, but there's no telling if it'll come to fruition or not. It takes place in 2528 (The 26th century). The storyline is also radically different from where things left off in the 24th century. A couple of examples: Andoria has been destroyed or conquered and the Vulcans left the Federation. Parts of space are also treacherous or impassible thanks to Omega Particle weapons. This is the result of another Earth-Romulan war sometime in the previous century. I've got links http://memory-alpha.org/en/wiki/Untitled_Star_Trek_animated_series http://trekmovie.com/2006/12/13/cbs-considering-new-animated-trek-series/#more-358

I'm sure this would be an interesting change - with animation, you can make all sort of alien folks, particular more extraterrestrial than the coincidentally prevalent humanoids, like there was a reptilian doctor in the novels of Star Trek: Titan as well as others. And in the future, a lot of new tech to play around with as well. Good reference to the Omega Particles, after the Omega Directive episode of Voyager.

As much as I love Star Trek, I really think there have been enough shows and there shouldn't be anymore. I never got into Enterprise, for that matter I wasn't big on Voyager either. DS9 was okay, but to me Star Trek is mostly the original and TNG. Now I realize Voyager has a huge fan base, I think it was more popular than DS9. I'm not sure about Enterprise, but I definitely didn't like going back in time before Kirk and his Enterprise. I'm not even sure if I'm crazy about the idea of this upcoming movie that does the same thing (though I will see it.)

I agree that some of the ideas that came into being and became a TV series and a movie isnt agreeable to everyone's taste. This upcoming movie sounds like starting up the classic series movies again, by using younger actors to play the crew. Guess we will see how this movie flies and if further movies will be based on the next gen actors to do the classics.

I would like another Star Trek series only if they make it like the old ones. TOS and TNG are, in my opinion, the best of the series. I would like a new series that actually goes by the same ideals as the old one. Enterprise I didn't like because it's not like Star Trek at all. It doesn't have the old sense of morality TOS and TNG did.

They should bring back Enterprise if only to tie it in to Kirk's Enterprise.
