We all work so hard to achieve our dreams and goals, but ,when is it that you would say , yes, I have reached where I wanted to in life ?
Is it at a certain age when you think you can't go any further, have enough money and comforts, your family and loved ones are well settled ... ?

It is a difficult question to answer, because there cannot be a level, where one feels that he has achieved, nothing is more is required to be tried. I think, once a person is active, he keeps on trying to achieve higher and higher and once he start feeling and once he actually retires from 'his service', he might develop the feeling that I have done enough.
I feel, given the opportunity, I would like to achieve more and more, as much as I can, till I 'retire'.

Dpk,
You are right in saying that we cannot get to a level. However there is an interesting point i note for the your last point "i retire". Can I assume that this is an age you stop working , say 58-60 or maybe earlier. Because if it is, then I've heard people say this when they reach this age, and does it actually signify that they have achieved whatever they have sought ?
Thanks

We, humans, are never satisfies, never in our lifetime. We are always seeking happiness and in the process forgetting to live happily. I feel, happiness is not a destination it's a journey. We have to feel it, enjoy it and live it and there's no better time than now. All through our lives we are busy preparing to live, to be happy thus. We prepare to ensure a better childhood for our kids, then we are busy to ensure them with a secure profession, then come their marriages, family, settlement, then the retirement and then we think we might be able to live life the way we want to and eventually we be happy. But that never comes for we are never satisfied with what we have
"Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect. It means that you've decided to look beyond the imperfections."

I would most certainly agree, that we always seek and strive to reach that point of satisfaction and happiness, but we hardly ever reach there. If only we could all derive the happiness and the enjoyment in the journey of reaching our goals, the meaning of life and the way we live it would become so much simpler and enjoyable.
Thanks a million for sharing these beautiful thoughts.

I think when my kids are happy and have achieved some of their goals. Since my second child is due in December that may be awhile. I think we should continue to strive for some goal no matter what our age. Helps to keep us healthy and active.

yes at some point you have to be satisfied, but i think most people are really taken over by greed and they really miss the happiness in their life.
but one more thing never be satisfied with you ambitions but be satisfied with the wealth i would say.

I am never satisfied with myself...that does not mean I am greedy, or selfish...I think as days pass we need to work more hard, as our goals keep changing...it is human nature.. it is my opinion, many may not agree with me

I believe that our struggle for satisfaction is what makes life interesting. I don't think most people ever reach a point where they think they have everything they could possibly ever want. It is that pursuit of happiness that keeps us motivated to get up everyday and try to get something more than what we got the day before. However that doesnt mean feeling negative about what you may not have, just about the will to gain something better, whether it material, or within yourself.

i think when i reach my goals i will say i am satisfied.
we should learn to be content with our current situation that life has already given
to us,fresh air, aboundant food supply and endless water energy, but at the same time
we also should be agressive about life,we have to be active ,to climb high than we
expected.life without goals is just like driving without lights,it is in danger.
