My computer is using Internet Explorer 6 as browser. But I want to use Firefox because of its feature of opening new tab unlike in IE where my screen is full of new windows! But I don;t want to quit IE because some of the sites that I joined in requires IE to be the browser when surfing. Can I use both browser at the same time? I already download Firefox 3 but have not installed it yet. If yes, what is the effect in my computer as a whole? Thanks!

Use Opera, and switch to Avant for websites that refuse to work in anything other than Internet Explorer.

I am thinking about it but it takes hours to download it, right? Can I use IE and other browser at the same time? I was thinking maybe it will make my computer slow.

Sure, I do it all the time.
I love my Firefox, but occasionally there is a site that does work better with IE (some game sites, for example), so I'll open that too.
It's never been a problem for me.

I know the name, so I'm sure I am. Don't know if I've been active there in a while, though.

Thank you, Marie Anne! I am talking about SendEarnings where I have to use IE for playing games there. Don't tell me, you are also a member there?

there are two possible solution for ur's problem
1)u can use simultanously two browsers
2) u can install IE 7 that gives the feature of tab.

I tend to use both browsers simultaneously a lot of the time. I will have some things going in Firefox and have a search window open in IE. I haven't noticed any ill effects on my computer. They both work at full capacity and don't seem any slower or anything. I would be lost if I couldn't bounce between them both!

Yes, there is no problem, you can install and open as many browsers as you computer memory allows. My favorite is Firefox, I definitely don't like IE. I have a faster experience with Firefox and the features are better than IE.

I currently have both IE and Mozilla Firefox and there are many more browsers available. They will not replace IE since they don't contend with each other. This is great since there still is Netscape and another called Avant. Nothing can be impacted that I am aware of.

if its just the multitab feature you want then its better that you use internet explorer 7 which gives you this feature. further more it lets you move your tabs easily and it also give you thmbnail views of all your open tabs. just check it out its cool for internet exlorer users.

That's absolutely fine. There will nothing happen unless your computer has a low memory which will make a warning.

I have Explorer and CrazyBrowser. I often watch tv shows on Explorer while doing something like sorting files to keep it from being too boring. It tends to eat up your memory but it is possible to do.

YOu can do so. As for me, I rarely use IE since its slow on my computer. I usually open opera, avant and firefox althoghter. In other words I use three browser from time to time. I don't see any problem with multiple browsers opening at the same time.

yeah, you can use two browsers at once. even if it's a different name brand of a browser, you still can use it. my b/f uses two browsers a lot of times while on the internet.
the only thing is, is when you do use two browser, make sure you fix your setting in the "display" section on your computer. this way, it will fix it from having problems of your viewing two browsers.

I use Firefox and I really like it. It has good features. Yes you can use both browsers at the same time. But in either browsers, you can open new tabs in one window. I prefer to use Firefox for its features are very interesting.

I tried using three browsers all at the same time. It was because of a role playing game. Gaia online. I was using Opera, Avant and Firefox. However, Opera made the pc a little slower. I love Firefox. Of the three, i used it always.

Yes, you can run multiple browsers at the same time, In fact, as I post this, I am currently running IE7, Mozilla firefox, Opera, and using the web browser of the p2p program Ares. There won't be uch of an effect to your computer as a whole, it would be just like installing another program, although you must remember that mozilla will ask if you want it to be changed to your default browser, if you want IE to remain the default, you can respond that way to the pop up box and it won't ask you again, if you check the "Don't ask me again" box.
I hope this has helped you.

Wow! That was great! What kind of computer do you have? How large is the memory and disk space?
