ok this is the thing with me, today i have had so many phone calls and have been on the phone all day because i don't want to be rude and not talk to people or anything when i have the time, because i usually am really busy though the week and i don't really feel like talking to a lot of people after i get through with everything at the end of the day...but today has been like huge for the phone it started at about eight this morning and its been ringing every since...i am not the kind of person to stay on the phone that much honestly and ive been on non stop today...so my question to you is has your cell phone ever rang so much in one day that you just dread to hear it ring again...i am trying to be nice so i don't just turn my phone off or dont answer it but i'm about to lol thanks for taking the time to read my discussions and i hope that you all have a great day!

I am all about screening my calls. If I don't want to talk on the phone, I'll just let voicemail get it and get back to the person later. I do dread hearing my cell phone ring every third week when I'm on call for work...then I have to answer the phone. YUCK! But my friends and family know that if I don't answer right away, I usually get back with them within a couple of hours, in fact sometimes they expect that I won't answer. I'm glad you could vent and hopefully your phone will quiet down a bit (or you could just "forget" to recharge it - haha!)

I worked (cleaned) for a lady who nagged me all the time. Lol. I had a special ring tone for when she called and I could not stand to hear that tone. It made my stomach hurt every time it rang.

oooh I have this too - I have one person that I work for who is always calling because she has forgotten when her kid's sessions is, or she's gone to a seminar and found a new way to teach him, so she wants to completely change the program, or she needs to change his time, or.... It's so frustrating. I think it's the frequency - if it was just once in a while, it would be okay, but sometimes it's practically twice a day.

I have never let any phone rule my life, nor the people on the other end of it. Before cell phones, people thought they had to be tied to their land lines. I never did. I had an answering machine to catch calls when I couldn't talk or didn't choose to talk. I've always taken the position that the people in the room with me are more important than any phone call, unless I'm expecting some really important call. (What that would be, I'm not sure... Perhaps a call from the President.)

No one calls me on my phone except for my wife and it is usually about some emergency. I guess you could say that I could be scared of my cell phone ringing and it has nothing to do with work at all. A call to me from a prospective client would be nice. Cheers!!

For me, technology is about convenience, not about creating more stress. I don't have a cell phone. There are legitimate reasons for one such as, a doctor on call, or some other professional who needs it for business purposes, but even then, its a good idea to shut it off after work. I have a phone at home. If someone want to talk to me, they phone me there, then I get back to them. Stressless communication. To be available to talk at all times is just setting yourself up for stress.

I hate to hear the ring of my cell phone. Usually it only rings when I'm far away from it or when I'm driving. I leave it on because of the kids and I want them to have a way to communicate with me, however about 2 months ago I lost my phone and had to wait for a new one. I was an exhilarting week and I felt a sense of freedom that no one was able to reach me. I just got my mom one and she can't imagine why she would need one. She never turns it on and says that if I want to talk to her then I have to wait for her to get home and answer the house phone. These days its a necessity, however I can appreciate how mom feels on the issue. Have a great day!

We use a land line at home. Most cell phone services will not pick up here at our home. None will pick up inside. So it doesn't bother me for people to call me on my cell phone. I'm usually out on the road when I get a call. And, it is usually my husband, daughter or son, or one of four grandchildren calling. And I don't talk a long time on my cell phone unless it's on the weekend or late at night. They know I won't burn up my minutes to carry on a long conversation on the cell phone.

My phone doesn't ring very often, so when it does it just makes me wonder who would be calling me. I get more texts than I do phone calls.

it happened to me before when i was managing a pharmacy. i don't really like it especially when i am having my day off and my co-workers kept on ringing about stuffs at the pharmacy. i usually end up going to the pharmacy and work extra of a few hours resolving problems instead of enjoying my day off. but now, i feel a lot better with a silent phone!

I have this too - especially since during the school year, most of my phone calls are people who want me to come and work for them, or people who need to reschedule sessions, and sometimes I just don't feel like dealing with it.

You could say I kind of dread hearing my cellphone ring. I'm not really a phone person, I always feel weird talking into it and not really looking at anyone directly. It's just.. a weird feeling. Maybe I don't dread phonecalls, just the awkwardness that ensues during one.
