Are you the first one to say sorry in an argument?

Whenever I have an argument with my boyfriend, I am not the first one who tolerate and say sorry to him. I am quite stubborn when I am in an argument even sometimes is my fault,I will still wait for him to say sorry first before I want to resolve with him. Maybe I am kind like don't want to admit my fault or want to be the winner in the argument. But ever once,I had made him pissed off,he did not say sorry to me,we had a cold war for a week then I just apologized to him because I scared I would lose him. Did you experience this before? Who is the one that say sorry first in argument? Please tell me more,thanks.

Often times, I'm the one who says sorry first. You see, I live by the principle to "seek to understand first, then to be understood" and almost always in any heated argument, there is fault in everyone participating. I'm quick to acknowledge my fault, which prompts others to also admit theirs. This way, there is fast resolution of the conflict and a better course of action can be taken instead of getting emotional.
