what is the difference b/w dual core and core 2 duo.....?

hello friends,
i have my processor dual core and someone has told me to update my processor to core 2 duo..
i have searched on net but cant find the relevant information abt the same.
will u plz tell me the difference b/w dual core and core 2 duo.....?

Oh, Core 2 Duo is actually a brand for a processor. Dual core is the generic. A dual core is a processor having two cores. Multicore processors are famous nowadays. A dual core can be an AMD athlon dual core or a pentium D. Core 2 Duo is actually a line of product by Intel, and it is their top-tier multi-core processor line for the desktop user. You should analyze first the speed of your processor before upgrading. Every package has a different one.

Dual core is powerful..the procession is different ,For example ,It can divide one thing into two parts ,then process it at the same time ,so the efficiency is highly raised..
