Are you someone who likes to give to the poor and expect it will be returned 10 or a thousand fold as written in the bible? Or do you just like to give without expecting anything i return?

When we give without expecting anything in return in this life, we please God. In Matthew 14:12-14
Proof: (From King James Version)
[12] Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be made thee.
[13] But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
[14] And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.

Sorry pal, I forgot to answer your question. Here it is.
I may say, I'm a cheerful giver because I like to share what I have. When someone approaches me, they won't have to ask twice, I give them anything they ask for as long as I can afford it. It makes me feel good. I can't explain how wonderful it feels whenever I help other people and they are happy about it. Hearing them say "thank you" is already a reward for me but I believe it's not important. What is more important is they say "thank you" to God. I may have my own shortcomings but this is what I want to do as much as possible.
God wants us to be charitable (without hipocrisy). It should be felt from within, that we feel satisfied when helping others and not because we want to be praised. God wants us to be such a giver because when non-believers see good willbeing done here and there, there is a greater possibility they will believe and glorify God because he works in the heart of these people and He really exists.

No. I give because I enjoy. It makes me feel good, as well as the recipient.

I give poor alms but never expect to be returned, its not that i give them something that i get more of what i give.and may be its the best way.Recieving something in place of giving is a bussiness and not a good deal.We are helping others and dont want help inturn.
Gods great but he also wants us to do something, work hard...its not possible that u give alms to poor and u become a rich man by magic.

Hi Muelitz,
I give without expecting any return...I also don't give to people who can afford like my friends..LOL! Not unless for special occasions! But, about old clothing, extra blessing such as food, We always give to our neighbors and their kids whom we know can't afford to have it!

Hi Muelitz,
The greatest thing to me is giving something to someone and to see a smile or a surprise on their faces and I don't expect anything in return. I once saw an lady who was standing at a bus stop looking wane and tired, there was a fruit stall opposite and some flowes in the bucket so I went across and bought some fruits and a bunch of flowers and came back to the bus stop. I stood there and watched her face really fed up so I decided to give her the bunch of flowers, she looked at me so much surprised and smiled at the a liitle tears ran down her face and told me it was her birthday and no one remembered it, She hugged me and I felt so happy to have done that and felt good all day. Yes its better to give and you get happyness in return.

i often feel sympathy for the poor but i don't think i'm the one who gives the poor very often. this is what i often feel a little guilty. but when i do give something to the poor, i don't expect anything in reture. i think if you like to get something in reture, that means you want to help yourself instead of others.

no i dont give just because i am expecting something in return. i would love to help mostly on people i dont know for they will not think that you are expecting something in return. i know people who only help because they will ask something in return, and this happened to me before... helping me because of his own intention. so me i help others who will not thinking that i am expecting something in return. i also help people who knows me but i help mostly people who dont know me

Honestly speaking, sometimes I am expecting something in return when I gave something but most of the time I don't expect something especially if I'm giving it to the poor people.. I don't think so that there is something wrong when you expect even a little thing when you gave something.. Actually, I am just expecting in return when I gave something to a friends, someone special and to the family but not all the time.. My expecting for them are just too little not more than I gave.. But when it comes to the poor people, I don't really expect anything in return.. I just want to help them, that's all... And I am happy doing those things...

Well if i give something to the poor or rich, i don't expect them to return anything to me. The important to me when we give soimwthing in that moment is your willing or not to give deep in your heart. If you are not willing to give, well better don't give cause if you not willing to give then it will create the expectation of return something from the person you give. So willing or not to give something to the other person is so important.
