6-8 hours each night is the recommended amount you should be getting according to most studys..,But for the past few weeks I only sleep 3-5 hours a night if i even sleep at all and I'm much happier this way less anxious more energized and my depression seems to have vanished.,Infact I feel better then I ever have in my life. How many hours do you sleep to little to much are you happy with your current routine?

For those of you who feel there is simpily just not enough time in your days, perhapes you should look into sleep deprivation and conditioning. Despite all the negative effects usually associated with it there are many positive effects aswell...like gaining alot more free time becoming very tireless and increased creativity atleast for me.,I recently discovered I'm very poetic and have written several astounding poems I though were beyond my skill it's like all of a sudden my vocabulary of words and abilty to link, rhyme, detail, and create metaphors and puns have quadrupled

These days I get maybe 3-4 hours of sleep per night. Up to the little girls room alot. I am one of those people who dont do well unless they get 7-8 hours of sleep so I stay tired all the time anymore. Recently I have just been laying down when I get too tired during the day.

Studying and working makes mefeel much exhaustable and sleeping is muchrelaxable.I love to sleep but other than working and studing i want to do other things also in my life so excluding that times i get only 6-7 hours of sleep.
Much time goes in watching tv and surfing the net or sitting here in mylot.

Currently I find I need atleast 4 hours of sleep every 2 days, I use an alarm clock and sleep in timed intervals during some of my free time when ever I feel it's the most efficent time to sleep

I used to get around 7-8 hours of sleep a day now I'm down to 6 1/2 minimum to 8 maximum. I sleep that long because I never find 3-5 hours of sleep very energizing because of my work I take short naps though to compensate from the lost sleep.

I agree with your opinion to a certain extent..everyone should get the rest they feel their body and mind needs, But just because "they" say everyone should sleep a certain amount of time to be considered normal is where I disagree. Everyone should experiment with sleep conditioning and find what works best stick it out and train yourself to a certian schedual even push past what you once though was the limit, you might be surprised with the results.

On an average I sleep for 7 hours in a night. Ususally I go to sleep by 11 pm. Sometimes this may extend upto 12 also. But whatever be the time I go to sleep, I will wake up at 6 am on the next day. I cannot sleep more than that. Even if I go to bed lately, I will wake up at the same time. I have tried on weekends to have a good sleep for extra hours. But I could not. I feel that I'm happy with this. And my body is healthy.

I used to sleep 8 hours a night. Then, as I get older, sleep time gets shorter, just 5 or 6 hours. But, I am quite refreshed after a 6 hour sleep, ready to start the working day.

an average of only 4 to 5 hours everynight. but i do find time to really sleep during daytime. and there is a study that 15 minutes sleep is equivalent to 1 hour during night time.. well, if you are struggling very hard every night, find some time during daytime to really sleep. and soon, you will be refreshed. i am happy with my routine right now. though there are times that i struggled a lot because i felt so sleepy during class hours.. but so far so good... especially when i get to sleep for a longer period of time...

an average of only 4 to 5 hours at night. but during daytime, i choose really to sleep for one hour. according to a teacher, 15 minutes sleep in a day is equivalent to a 1 hour at night. so if you don't get enough sleep at night, find some time to really sleep during daytime.. and more so, it will refresh your cells and you yourself.. i am happy with my daily routine though, but there are times that i felt so sleepy during class hours...hmmm

I dont get enough I know that for sure!I have a very busy life, it's very seldom that I get more than 5 hrs myself! I have also noticed though that when I do get more than five hours of sleep I feel sluggish. I feel pretty okay with 5 or 4 hrs a night. I still have energy. Kinda like what you said. It seems backwards to me but, oh well, whatever works!

I have problems falling asleep at night and have been staying up too late lately. I have probably been getting about 5 or 6 hours a night. I know I am more active and creative at night, unfortunately I have to stay on the schedule that the rest of the world follows.

This is actually a major problem of mine. I actually went to a Dr. about this and some other issues. Last night I slept about 6 hours which is way less than what I normally sleep. I was very alert when I woke up and I felt good for about 3 hours and then I could not keep my eyes open. I was cold so I snuggled up in a blanket on the couch and slept for 5 hours. Most of the time I sleep at least 10-12 hours which is way too much. And the thing is is I have to take meds at night to help me fall asleep and stay asleep. But then I sleep waaaaay too long. And if I don't take anything to help me sleep I don't sleep at all. Like literally no sleeping. And this is causing a lot of problems with my family and boyfriend because they are always on my back for sleeping too much. But I don't really know what else to do.So I went to a Dr. for that, shaking, dizziness, lightheadedness, excessive thirst, and weakness. And they did some tests and lab work so we can try and figure out what it is. I'm just tired of people calling me lazy. I'm not doing this on purpose.
