Hello!
Actually this is all about all the discussions you put it in here at mylot. I am having a hard time thinking of a discussions appropriate here at mylot. I have a few discussions started and so I decided why not ask you guys where or how do you come up with a discussions? Maybe the information you share in here will give me some idea and come up with some good discussions.
Do you research? Get from news? From friends? or you just think it out?
Thanks in advance.

Most of the time I go with discussions my friends has started , sometimes I make my own about things that has happened within my life, and other times I think of practical things. eg: What is the weather like where you are? things of that nature. I try not to get my mind too full at any one time. Now I dont sit on the computer all day, you have to give the old brain a rest in between.

We could get a lot of discussion from our own experiences. They are the main source of interesting topics that can be started here. They also include the memories of your lifetime and childhood memories is one of the best topic to be discussed. Reading is also one good way to come up with a discussion. Read books, newspapers, magazines or even pamphlets. Be aware also of daily news, current events and information from mass media. Social networking is also a good way to pick up a good topic that is why I chat with my friends over the phone, check my online social groups regularly and attend some group dates.

Hello shintongs32,
Interesting! You do all that for mylot? or it is just natural for you? These are very good points you mention here and I think I can use it to start a discussion.

Hi there robert19ph!
More often than not, the discussions I start are based on what actually happened to me. In short, it is based on actual experiences. Sometimes, it is inspired by the experiences of my family and/or friends. There are also instances when the discussions I start is inspired by my curiosity. Like when I get curious as to certain things or people or places or practices and many more. Sometimes, the harder you think about a topic, the harder it is that you will be able to come up with one.

Hello dolce_vita78,
Discussions based on life experiences are very good topic here. It is easy to create a post from it because you or someone actually experienced it.

No formula, just whatever comes along on the day, there are in the main spur of the moment jobs, and they maybe come while I am listening to the radio,or watching the television.its hard to say what a good Mylot questionis, some just take off and others are left standing, but its the trying that counts,no matter if anyone responds or not.

Hello ella1bella,
I like your attitude in starting a discussions. As long as you believe it's a good discussions there is no way that you are not going to start it, no response or not.
Thanks and have a good day.

Hi robert19ph,
The discussions I make is when I see something on news or when something happened to me or some incident occured, yes it is hard to think about what to write about day to day but I spend more time responding to my e-mail.

Hello tamarafireheart,
I don't do much discussions on current news. My knowledge is limited on them and I am afraid I can't give much comment about it. Incident that happens is a good topic also. I do post some discussions on this topic.
Have a nice day.

Actually, the harder you think about it, the harder it will be to get new ideas. I get inspired a lot by my friends here. The ideas also come about while reflecting on your own experiences in life. Sometimes its reading, watching TV or simply watching other people and their behaviours. I think its better to be spontaneous. Hope I've made sense

Hello alokn99,
That is right. It's hard to think when you plan something out. It's something that I do usually here. I make plans like post on discussions first and then start a discussions. When it's time to start a discussion, I get lost thinking of something to start with. Being sponteneous is good. When you have something in mind, it's better to put it right away or write in a paste of paper and then post later.
Cool.

I seldom start discussions because I do not have many interesting discussions that are worthwhile. My discussions come from things that I wish to share and ask.
I prefer to respond to discussions.

Same here. I prefer to post to a discussions that start a new one. But I am making some turn around. I am trying to improve the number of discussions I am starting. I hope this discussion will help me get some more information.

hello robert,
welcome to my world LOL
i think most of the discussion i started was based on what i am feeling or have noticed around me.
although i feel it is just an unpredictable subject so whatever pops in my head i write it up, though it is not all the time that is why i rarely start a discussion now as i feel my head is just not having so much inspiration.
i like to read and watch news but sometimes it depresses me so i kinda not go to that path to avoid negativity in my part.
i think most of the discussion i have noticed here are mostly a kind of question or query about something or just plain nothing LOL
anyway, you can always come up with something that will stand as your subject the only problem i guess is if its something someone would want to read and respond.
some discussion i enjoy reading but not writing so if you can manage to have it both then you are on your way to having a good and busy discussion to start with.
have a good one!

Hello jairgirl,
That is a very good observation. News is really depressing now a days. It's better here at mylot you can choice what discussions you want to read and write. I prefer still to post on discussions and start a new one once in a while.
Warm regards.

yes, it is very true. it seems like the news nowadays is just a form of entertainment to most.
im sure it is not only me and you who finds mylot as a source of fun, enjoyment, news, knowledge and other reason for being here.
i think i will be doing the same this month (starting less discussion and focus more on others post) so i can make my post number a little higher than what it is right now.
i am hoping to reach 1000 post this month but i am not gonna push myself to do that thing coz i hate doing it for the sake of number and not because i am enjoying it - wish me luck!
anyway, wish you all the best!
hope you reach whatever goal you set last month.
have a good one!
takecare

what inspires me is when i see a mylotter takes and answers my discussions seriously because they do give answers with sense. most of the time when i post discussions with regards to problems that has arised that needs inspirational messages from other people's point of view, it helps me fix my problems out. when i needed somebody to talk to, they reply back to every reply i make to a certain discussion.
i've met good people here and i can say that they are considered as my online friend. we may be miles apart from each other and yet i can feel their concerns with the way and how i feel. it feels good to have someone you don't really know personally because when you want to ask personal things, that person won't be biased with what he/she would want to advice you to do. you would know that it is based on her own opinion. not because she is a close friend of you or a person related to you.
i am very glad i have joined this site and i realized that surfing the net made sense to me now. i put my time into something useful and i earn at the same time. it has helped me a lot and that i have enhanced a lot of things to myself.
happy mylotting and God bless!

hoping that this site inspires you more!

Hello skbh12,
Wow! I like what mylot have done to you. I rarely asked advice on very personal matter here but as you say, it is a good site to get a second or third opinion. You can see there unbiased response and it's reall a good thing. I hope mylot will inspires me more too in the coming days. I am now happy with what I am doing here at mylot but it's not to late to explore what other things mylot has to offer.

Hello dhangski,
Topics base on your experience are a good one to start with but I run out of topics base on experience and most of the time I have second thoughts posting it here. Maybe a question that comes out is better.
Thanks.

I normally think of things that are relevant to me so for example do a lot of travel related discussions or if i'm doing something around the home and I think why do people do that then it makes me wonder so I use that as a discussion.

I actually don't have any inspiration which is why I haven't started any discussions lately. I'm happy to just read what other people start and put my two cents in. Sometimes when I have a very good conversation with my friend/s I am inspired to share about it here on myLot. or I may be doing simple chores at home and something pops into my head. Lately though I'm facing a writer's block. So it's really advantageous that everyone is trying to reach payout lately so much so that there are a lot of interesting discussions going on. :)

That's ok. There is no pressure for you to start a new discussions. There are lot of mylotters out here that have more inspiration to start a new discussions. I usually also do more posting that starting.

I have the same problem. I am pretty new here, as you can see. I'll come up with an idea and then think, no I don't want to post that... I would prefer to respond to others discussions, so far that is. I have responded to a bunch of discussion that post links to articles so that is one good way to start discussions I guess.

Hello redkathy,
It's the other way around for me. When I am new, I post a lot of discussions but it has also it's disavantage because my discussion is getting only minimal responses and so I concentrated on posting to a discussions and now I just occassionally post one.

My discussions are inspired by all kinds of different things. Sometimes I see and hear things on the news, sometimes i read them in my e-mail, sometimes they are discussions I've already had with my husband or a family member, and other times they are things that were allready on my mind, on which I want to get some more opinions.

That's a lot of interesting things to start a discussions. I think that's the first step. The last step is to put in words those inspiring discussions. I think I have stopped posting new discussions now, it's not because I am running out of ideas but I think I prefer posting to other discussions.

I think that everyone here on myLot has different ideas and ways of starting discussions. For the most part, I try to think of something that is common to most everyone no matter where they live in the world.
Sometimes I am trying to find out if people do things the same as me or different from me. Other times I am trying to get ideas from the people here in this community of over 180,000. This is a great place to come up with ideas, and if you have problems people are very helpful in helping you to solve them as well.

I usually start discussions to get specific information or if a topic interests me. So they more or less come naturally. From the sites I surf, from articles I read, or from reading my e-mail even other discussions can inspire me to make my own discussions.

I'm sorta having a hard time myself coming up with discussions. I try to just apply anything that happens in my life to a question, but my life isn't all that exciting, so it isn't working out that well. Anyways, I'm glad you asked this question. Maybe someone can help me out too.

I did get some good tip and a lot of experiences from this discussions. I think it is a matter of mood, interest and guts to start a new discussions. If you have something in mind just write it and if you feel good about it, it will turn out very good. Don't worry you'll find your niche.

Anything inspires me! Sometimes things that are happening or that have happened in my life. Sometimes i will be having a conversation with a friend and they will say something or we will be discussing a topic and then i think to make a discussion about it on mylot to get more oppinions. I think you should just take your time, there is no rush to make new discussions. When you think of something interesting write it down in a discussion. Even something general like how your day was. Or whether youre feeling happy or sad. Sometimes simple discussions can be equally as good as well thought out ones
