I just got a new laptop in August of 2008, so my laptop is about 10 months old. My old laptop had a problem with the power port, so I was unable to get the battery to charge, and no charge means no laptop. I hope this laptop lasts more than 2 years. The others only lasted about that long. I hope this one will be better.

Mine is two weeks old. I accidentally destroyed my desktop which allowed me to think of buying a new one. But instead of buying the bulky, I went for portability. that's why I have one now.

My laptop is just 3 months old. That is gift for me from my brother. It is working fine and enjoying a lot working on it. But normally i am using my desktop as i am very much comfortable working in desktop keyboards. Laptop keys i am not yet familier.

Mine is almost 2 years old. Not bad. But I am looking forward to having a new one... hopefully within the year.
Good day!

Undetermined. I bought it second hand off eBay, with a fresh install of XP Pro, which was never released with Dell home laptops. It's new enough that USB ports are standard, but old enough that there's only two of 'em. I'd guestimate about 3, 4 years, maximum.

My laptop is about 1 year old, but has been upgraded with 2gb RAM so that it can run Vista and Office 2007 smoothly, which I love. I work for a custom computer/networking company and we suggest computers (even laptops) should be replaced every 2-3 years, depending on what applications you use and how hard you use the computer. If you're just a light Internet-surfer, then your laptop will easily last more years than 2-3, but if you're a "heavy" computer user, you will probably want/need to replace it within this time range.
