6 months ago i arrived here in mylot hoping to earn some money but i stopped since i am not seeing that happening.
anyway, so i come back and i have been active here for 4 months now.
realizing that i have been here for four months makes me feel that i am basically crawling out here.
my post number is nothing compared to those who arrives same time as i did and worst - those who has been here later than i did.
that makes me wonder if i am doing the right thing or not.
yes, i am earning out here and have managed to earn 3 payouts in a row though i am skeptical bout this month, BUT i am feeling being left out with my post number.
i am honestly not in a rush to have thousands of post number, just wondering how did they do that.
there are a lot of member on my list whom i often see there name starting a discussion and still manage to post 30-45 discussion in a day.
all i can say is WOW!!!
how can they manage that? specially those who have work and just out here during their spare time.
it is hard for me to start a discussion coz often times i end up answering all those who replied to me and there is not enough time for me to look on new discussion at all.
i guess that is why i rarely start my own as i try to catch up on my post number STILL not good enough.
i think i spend at least 10 minutes per discussion here so if i will post 45 in a day that will take me about 8 hours and i dont have that much patience to sit and just type.
i guess that is why i dont like to be a secretary LOL
having said all this, i am really trying so hard to do my best to catch up responding to as much as i can.
it is not easy as i dont like to just be there and write whatever.
sometimes i found some discussion that i feel is so interesting but i have nothing interesting to say so i just skip it.
i wish i can make an improvement next month.
at least reach 900 post at the end of august, sounds impossible but i can only try.
how about you?
how many post in a day do you do?
do you have a set number of discussion you want to start in a day?
btw, how long have you been here (just wonder so i can judge if i am really crawling or not LOL)

Welcome back dear, I usually start between 3 to 7 discussions a day and response to about 5 to 10 discussions that others start, but all the time I spend here is to replay to the responses I get to my responses and that will not make me earn money but make have a good friends.
Have a nice day.

hello alkurishy,
thanks for being here, i have to say i admire you for having the desire and all the ideas to start that much discussion in a day. i used to start at least 2 a day during my first two weeks here (active days) but dont spend that much time now to start one as i dont have much good discussion to start with and the fact that most of my time is taken by my own discussion so i kinda lay low to doing my own and focus on others discussion - still not helping though.
like you, id rather replied to my own first and move on to others when i am done.
dont worry it does earn you money out here coz you are participating as well (i guess the belief you mention is just a myth) and yes, you earn more friends around and i guess that is all that matters.
you sure sound that you are having a lot of fun out here and i applaud you for that.
keep up the great work and wish you all the best.
takecare!

hello luvjabb,
welcome to mylot and hope that you are finding lots of helpful info out here.
to answer your question, i believe that such thought is nothing but a myth. if you look to my profile you will see that i started a discussion about mylot myths and will find some answers bout your questions.
anyway, to make a short answer to your query - responding to discussions be it yours or somebody else will give you earnings.
the only factor that plays is how you responded, you have to remember that we are judge by the quality of the post. the longer the better but make sure that what you are saying makes sense and or at least relevant to the discussion it self.
quantity will not give you higher earnings but the quality (one to three liner respond is not considered quality here)
so if you want to affect your earnings in a better way make sure that you are responding in paragraphs - that will help you a lot.
hope that helps.

Thing is hun there are a lot of people on here that are home bound do to health and things and this is all they do. I know I have a couple of friends that spend all day on here because they are in wheel chairs and such. Some are retired and this is their hobbies as well. But yes I know how you feel. Being here as long as I have I should have a lot more compared to some but I took a few months off. Mylot burn out I guess. But I have gotten some good information here. What I do a lot of time is spend my mylot time in the ones with no responses.

hello shooie,
thanks for such wonderful response, i honestly didnt think and see it that way so i appreciate your information a lot.
i have been active for quite a while now and like you i feel like i am having the mylot burn out since june and that makes move slower than what i am already few months ago.
i am happy that you are getting some good information out here and coming back with a cool move.
i am not sure if its you who said that in my past discussion (regarding responding to those who dont have responses) that makes me decide to do the same most of the time i am here.
i feel that it helps them and it helps me at the same time - great cause ie?
anyway, thanks for making me feel better your words sure helps me a lot.

Jair, Your idea about writing quality posts/responses appears very sound. I would advice you to stick to it. The number of posts necessarily does not denote quality. Those who are able to posts 30-40 posts in a day cannot do justice to the quality of responses, I think so. If you have earned 3 payouts in a row, that also proves that you really write quality posts. Please do not bother about the numbers (number of posts) if you keep the good work going at a steady pace, your number would automatically increase. Also, posting comments to the responses received is equally important, it helps in better interaction with friends and strengthening relations. So whatever approach you have adopted that is the correct approach. Keep it up! My best wishes are with you.

Namstey Dear!
It is realy great on your part that you make it a point to post your comments to each and every response you receive, I agree this is the way of conveying thanks to our dear friens, who took time to post their replies. And posting counter comments does help strengthening relations between friends, after all earning money is not the only motive here. I also love to post comments and counter-comments, without that I feel that my discussions remain incomplete.
I truly find you as a very nice and caring person and I am sure, whatever you do in your life, you will surely succeed. Best wishes.

hello deepak!
kiyahalhe? (hope my spelling is right haha)
sorry for my late response, i was sick last week and just getting myself back to normal so i didnt get much time to be here.
anyway, like you i enjoy the fact that i can reply to each comment i got on my discussion i really do try my best to respond to them first before i move on to others BUT most of the time i just end up being occupied by my own.
this month i may not start as much as i used to so i can post more to my friend's and others discussion - hope i can make it LOL
thanks for your kind words, it means a lot to me knowing that see me that way as a person.
wish you all the best.

hello deepak!
namaste!
you're a wonderful friend indeed!
thanks for you kind words and support.
i really hope that my comments are appreciated by most and that they find quality on it.
i didnt expect the payout and often surprise that i manage to get it even with my few times out here.
you're very right, i have found a lot of member out here whose number is soaring but when i checked their responses it was like a few sentence only and few even manage to respond with no sense at all - i find it strange!
i honestly couldnt agree more regarding the "posting comments to the responses received is equally important" that is exactly how i feel when i responded to every body on my discussion.
to me their views/thoughts are only appreciated by me if i replied to them and no matter how busy i am i always try to respond first to those i have on mine before i go to others.
that is my way of saying thank you and that i am appreciating them as well.
again thanks for the kind support.
have a good one!

Hi jairgirl,
I was invited here year ago by an officemate..I just do it because she will not stop bothering me at work, that time I posted I guess 1-2 post then, I stopped!
Just last April, after 3 months of being a full time wife, I decided to give a try here since I was bored a lot. SO, basically, it's my 4th months to be active here!
I rarely start a topic, 1 or 2 maybe in a week or nothing in a week..I can't think of any uncommon topic plus I have no outdoor activities, I have less to share here that is why my post is entirely about my friends as well as their lives and my experiences! LOL!
I enjoy answering my notifications and I am targeting 50 or more responses in a day for on and off here on the PC since it hurts my eyes and my B*tt! LOL!
So, to sum up, I guess I am spending 3-4 hours all in all unlike when I started I felt like I am here for 8 hours, that was the first 3 weeks of April and I had all the ache of my body that time! LOL!
I am making it to the point that my afternoon time will be for giving comment for the responses I got from my post and my morning time after my chores here will be devoted to responding only!
You are not crawling dear jair, we have different priorities in life! Just enjoy!

hello che,
yeah, i remember you mention we are just in the same time out here.
i think not starting a discussion will help a lot to make the post number move up quicker but since i got active here i still find it hard to manage that as i feel it bores the heck out of me to type in all day.
i am glad that despite my addiction here i have not spend that much hour in a day. i guess the longest i have spent here was 4 hours but that is like once or twice and it is because my husband is not around.
i should be posting more this week coz he is up in BC but i have a flu and today is the only day i can really move without feeling so dizzy but i am just here tonight - my bad!
i am glad that you are very active here despite the less hours. it is not easy to sit all the time but i guess having the goal helps to ignore the sleeping butt haha!
anyway, thanks for you kind support as always!
you are very right, i have other priorities that is why i am crawling out here yikes!!!
have a great evening opps morning as it is pass 1 am - no wonder half of my eye is shut LOL
good night!

I'm sorry you're feeling like you're not doing as well, but does the number of posts really matter? If you've been able to make payout, then the posts you do make must be worthwhile and earning you a decent return for your time.
Do you post more discussions or responses? If you don't respond as much as you start them, your number isn't going to be higher because you don't get extra points when you start a discussion and answer each response from someone else. That may be increasing your actual earnings (which is more important, I would think), but it won't make your number go up.
If you're more concerned about the number going up, post more responses to other people's discussions and less discussions of your own. But again, if you get a lot of responses when you start a discussion, you will be sacrificing earnings for points.

hello Ldyjarhead,
thanks for being here.
i honestly care less bout my post number, points and even earnings out here. just so happen that i was bored and check my friend list and saw how much others who came same time i did and those who arrived later have made that much post in just a short period of time and that makes me question my self out here that leads me to starting this discussion.
i rarely start my own discussion now as most of my time is taken by my own comments and that is why i hardly respond to those on my list (my apology for that). my only reason for starting a discussion is if im feeling down or there is something i need to understand and that is the only time i do it coz it helps me feel better other than that, i am not much of concern of anything other than me feeling good about myself at the end of the day.
mylot has been great to help me overcome my boredom and depression and i am always thankful for that to all my friends and posters as well.
yeah, i have understand that responding to my own comments will not help me increase my number as well as replying to others discussion for the second or nth time. - still i do it coz it is my way of saying thank you and for being part of the discussion itself.
anyway, appreciate your thoughts, kind words and support so much.
wish you all the best in life.
good night!

I wouldn't worry to much about the number by your name. It is more important about the type of response you give to the discussions that you post. I don't even bother with counting the number I respond to and I only post a few discussions that I am really want to know about. If you just post a bunch of discussions for the sake of making money, then it becomes tiresome and you don't want to read and reply back to the messages.
I have been here about a month and barely reaching 400 post. If you are making payout then that is more important then have a huge number by your name. I try to post so the number by my name ends in 0 or 5, it just feels like I am getting somewhere when it does.
Good luck in reaching your goal!

hi meggan,
you are doing a great job for reaching almost 500 post in about a month. congratulations.
i honestly dont mind my post number and i dont look at it that often, i just came to realize how sloe i am when i look at my friend list and saw their number way too high and most of them came earlier than i do.
yes, posting to those that interest you the most makes mylot stay much fun.
i am no longer here for money as i know i wont get as much as i want to here unless i will be here 8 hours a day 7 days a week and only maybe then i can reach $100 a month (no referral at all) but heck i still have a life to live on so i am not doing that LOL
one time i tried to reach 700 (25 post needed) and boy was i tired after. it takes me at least 10 minutes to reply so you can imagine the length of it.
oh well.
i never thought of numbers that ends to 0 or 5, interesting indeed!
im glad that makes you feel good.
wish you all the best!

I have been here over a year. I have made four payouts in this time. I don't really pay any attention to how many post I make. If I think of a good discussion than I will post one. Each day varies for me. There have been days that I haven't posted any discussions just responded to the discussions that are already here. I like mylot but there are times that I just stay away for a little bit. But since they have redone their page I am here everyday. It is so much easier to navigate since they have changed the layout. I give a big thumbs up for mylot improving their layout. It has brought me back everyday. I have no set of discussions that I want to post. I go with the flow.

i hope mind reach that too and even more.
that is very great of you to make others smile and laugh, we sure all need someone like you in our world.
that is something that i have in my life too - someone like you! my husband is a very wonderful man who knows how to make me smile and laugh even if my world is dark and or if i am crying out loud.
world will be a dull one if there is no one like you and my hubby. thank you!
anyway, advance happy anniversary to both of you!

i also like your avatar, it sure looks so sweet makes me miss my husband so much (he is up in BC for 4 days and i cant wait to have him back home tomorrow)
anyway, i work like you do out here as i dont pay much attention to what i am doing here.
often times i only stopped when im tired of typing or i feel bored typing haha! both makes me want to stay here not more than 2 hours max!
i have been burn out since last month and that is not helping me at all to make my post number go higher than what it is now, i was hoping that i will reach 900 post this month but i guess it will only happen early september haha!
i dont see and feel much different from the old mylot layout BUT i have heard a lot loves it and i am happy that you do like it and have helped you to stay here every day.
anyway, keep going with the flow and i wish you all the best not only here but in everything you do.

Hello jairgirl,
Welcome back! I am only doing 5-10 post per day and I been here a year. I am also jealous of those guys who post 50-70 per day but we have our way of doing things and so I just do it my way by setting my own goal and pace. You can try it, I also want to try posting a 100 in one day. Maybe when I have time and I'm the mode I can do it. But now, still busy with other stuff so hitting the payout this month is just ok. If ever these is a race, it will be a long one. I don't think mylot will close 1-2 years from now. If that's the case we really need to work fast while there is still time.
Good luck and hope you get your 900 this month.

hi robert,
nice to hear from you again.
i think that is exactly what i felt that very day when i compared my number to those who arrives later than i do, it was like something that hits me and makes me wonder why and how at the same time.
i have read some posted more than a 100 a day when i cant even make 30 in a day. i think the most i can do is 20 and that is answering comments to my discussion or something i had in the past.
i told marebabe that i would like to try to post 50 one day but you said you want a 100. wow! awesome! goodluck to that one.
i think i will try to do that when i did the 50 first and then decide if that is possible or not LOl
yeah, we can only hope that mylot stays longer than what we can think of.
the community is getting bigger and bugger and that is a good sign that the place is appreciated by most.
anyway, thanks for your kind support appreciate it a lot.

Hi jairgirl!
I don't think you're doing something wrong here. The fact that you were able to make 3 consecutive payouts tell us that you're doing a good job. Don't worry about the number of posts you have. Just focus on the quality of the posts that you make. Before you notice, you have reached 1000th already.
As for me, I've been a member here for more than a year but been inactive for 6 months after I signed up because of my schedule and other priorities. I make at least 10-15 posts a day and that doesn't include the comments that I make. There are days I can make up to 50 responses but I think it only happened twice. On average I can do 15-30 responses. I don't regularly start a discussion of my own. I only do when I feel like it and there's something I want to share.
BTW, add friends so they can help you out also. More friends=more discussions to respond to. Just make sure that the person you're adding is like a "veteran" here or something.
So, good luck and welcome back! (did that just rhyme??)

hello marababe,
thanks for your kind words - and yes they do rhyme LOL
i am so looking forward to reach that 1000 post i sure will celebrate once i reach that milestone, though i feel i will reach that in two months oh well!
i dont remember posting 50 YET in a day i hope i can do that one day for the sake of saying that i did it that will take a huge boring day to come before it happens.
i think i already have lots of friends out here and i do make sure that i set my notification ON for them so i know when they are posting a new discussion, the only problem is that i am mostly occupied by the comments i have on my own discussion or a respond to a discussion i posted already so i dont have much time to do participate to them.
another reason why i am not starting a discussion as much as i want to.
anyway, i am happy that you are back as well and it is great to hear and know that you do know your priorities in life.
appreciate the support.

I used to post to about 50 - 90 discussions a day, but like everything else in my life the novelty started to wear off. Plus, I just do not really have the time to sit here all that time and do it.
Now I have cut back and I post to about 30 discussions a time, depending on how I feel. I start discussions but I save them all until a weekend now when I have the time to respond. I only start about three discussions a time as I just cannot keep up with anymore than that and it is not fair if I cannot respond to everyone. I no longer set myself an amount to do anymore, I just do what I feel like doing. I have been a member here for about 5 - 6 months I think now.

jairgirl hi I am retired and spend a lot of time here, and set a number of posts, mostly responses, anyone who could do 45 discussions in a day is cheating by making discussions with only a few words and that nets them maybe two cents, my lot says do quality discussions maybe four or five lines not one so no way could I do 45 in one day here as it takes time and energy to do each one. I try to do at least fifty to seventy five each day and maybe one or two discussions but that t akes me most of the day.

you are one of the few who have gained my respect when i get here.
i am happy that you find mylot interesting and that keeps you busy. i know there are lots of retired people who just sit in their home and stay sad.
i hope my mom will find mylot interesting so she can be part of this great community too.
i am amazed on how much you can post in a day and still manage to make it with a quality response, i am waiting for my day to at least try 50 post in a day. this is my longest post in a day as i feel i have responded 22 already and boy i am already feeling the ache in my fingers (im still young but feel achy already LOL)
yes, i have read some members who post nothing but question in the subject and blank on the rest and then they will start again. makes me wonder why they even bother.
i only start a discussion if i feel like it but i guess next month i will start less so i can manage to have my post number reach a 1000 post - i can only try.
anyway, i am happy that you are doing a wonderful job out here and i know based on your response you are appreciated by a lot and i am one of them.

i am not sure how long have i been here... maybe two years and 10 months or two years and 9 months. totally forgot about it.
anyway, you might see so many people online and always active here in myLot. if you notice, not all of them are up to just money alone. sometimes, they stop thinking about how much they are about to earn in a day, they just keep on going because they love it here. there are even those who say that myLot is their second home.
i don't really have a target number of discussions in a day. i just keep on going and going until i feel tired. i guess, i stay online for an hour or two and then stop. the money is just considered a big bonus for the fun i get from here.
happy myLotting!

hello anne,
you are one of the pioneers here! great!
yeah, so many out here found home and i cant blame them.
i, for one, have found this place as a resting place of my mind. i feel depress sometimes and being here specially those times helps me feel better and forget why on earth i am feeling depress.
anyhow, some i feel only respond that much because they think if they post that much then they will earn that much as well they dont realize that the earnings is not base on how much post you made or how much discussion you responded.
lately i am only here for a few minutes to an hour but it is because i am feeling tired and i guess the mylot fever is on its way out already.
it is great to know that you are enjoying your time here and have found the secret of mylot - having fun!
earnings in my honest opinion is just an icing on the cake and i am happy that i can have both without sacrificing so much of my time.
keep up the great work and hope to see more of you!
thanks for the response.

Hi hon,
Firstly, welcome back and secondly you need not bother yourself with such thoughts. Even I am like you. Someimes I respond well and some others times I hardly. I do not start many discussions and even I like commenting and rating (+)on every response I get. That takes up a lot of time as well.
I feel, what's important s to have fun. I do not believe in going out of way, stressing ourselves to reach the target. Whatever I wrte I try to be good with it and that;s it. The friends here are amazing, I love their company.
Happy mylotting, have fun and get going.

i plan to be active this month on other's page and hope i can make it. i am overwhelmed with what is going on in my home and the feeling of mylot burn out as well, but i am hoping that i can make my plan somehow.
anyhow, i admire your ways out here. i hope you continue it and hope many will follow as well.

hello subha,
thanks for being here and for pointing out what you noticed LOL
kidding aside, yes i used to be very very active here as i love the place and enjoy every moment i am here.
i still do love and enjoy my lot still its just that i have other priorities right now and i do find mylot tiring sometimes. i guess coz i dont have much to say so that makes me tired as i often end up reading but not having something to write as a response and such thoughts makes me tired coz i have to wonder around.
most members here will relate to that feeling and i guess like most they will come back and be active again.
i am still working myself out and hope i can get back here this month as i have some goals to reach by december.
thanks for the warm wishes, i am very happy to say that i made the july payout it is the lowest of all but i am happy that i made it anyway. appreciate your support!
takecare

Hi jairgirl. When I first joined about a year and a half ago, I hardly posted any discussions and just responded to as many as I could whenever I was online. It got quite addictive and I found myself on here 24/7. That's where I managed to rake up my numbers because majority of my time was spent answering discussions. Once I started posting, it got easier for me and even though I never set any goals, I just did as much as I could in the time I was on here. I did have some very long sleepless nights in here too.
I only post discussions when I can think of something to post (mostly about what I'm doing at the time or whatever is happening in my life then and there). If I don't have anything to post then I'm answering discussions, as many as I can before I have to sign off.
Lately I am seldom on here but when I am, I think I answer about 20-30 discussions and probably post one or two then I'm offline again till the next day. Another thing I do is that I answer a lot of easy questions and that rakes up my numbers too. I know most of them are boring but hey, if I have something to say I'll say it LOL Happy mylotting and keep at it!

hello!
hahahaha, i remember when i first got active here i think i often respond before i go to bed and my husband will complain coz it takes me 1-2 hours before i really go to sleep.
mylot os very addictive in the beginning and i think most will agree that after sometime you will reach a point that you are tired and burn out answering each and every discussion there is.
most of my time is taken by my own discussion and it is hard to keep up with the comments.
this is the longest i stayed here and i am glad i made the 24th post and i am ready to fall asleep.
you sure have your ways figure out and no i think it is not boring but a smart way to make your points and earnings adds up!
smart girl! haha!
btw, im sure you hubby is home now. hope you guys are enjoying your time together.
thanks for being here and for all the support!
good night (really this time it is a good night LOL)

hello hindichinese! (why such name id anyway?)
i hope more ideas comes to your mind, it sure is great to know that something is coming out in our brain and express it and hear what others thoughts as well (like you i am pushing myself to the limit but i am still not doing great despite my pushing, yikes!).
i will be commenting more on others discussion this month (my plan) so hope i can add some more number on my post number and make it at least 900 at the end of the month though i am hoping and wishing to reach 1000 STILL i am keeping my fingers cross bout it.
anyway, i wish you all the best! hope you reach whatever goal you set out here.
have a good one!
