It saves gas and it saves time and it tastes great. In addition, it is good for health.
Here is one of my favorites. We call it "pov," but if that makes no sense to you, you can simply rename it. In Konkani, "pov" means "beaten rice."
Take three cups of beaten rice (not the hard variety, but the soft type); half an onion, chopped; one green chilli (not capsicum or pepper, real Indian chilli); quarter coconut grated (make sure it is fresh); and sugar and salt to taste. All you have to do is to mix above ingredients and squeeze the hell out of them. Don't add any water; you will regret it. Once you are done with the squeezing, simply eat it. Before doing so, check if the salt and sugar is enough. Yummy! Even Lord Krishna is believed to have loved it. In return for a handful of "pov," Lord Krishna gave Kuchela (his childhood crony) a huge palace and lots of gold. :)
So, got any lovely "fireless" recipes to share?
Cheers and happy mylotting

There are lots of yummy cold soups that are great for summertime like gazpacho (tomato, cucumber and pepper), tomato and avocado soup, tomato basil, and lots of tasty fruit soups like strawberry, melon, and peach.

Positiveminded it sounds very interesting. What do you put it in to squeeze it...Whats the difference from beaten rice to plain rice?

Hi Angel, when you take rice, dehusk it, and beat it flat, you get beaten rice. I guess the plain rice you are referring is rice when it is left alone, without being beaten. Here is a lovely wikipedia article on beaten or flattened rice that you will love.
