what is the advantage of branded computers?

The only advantage of a branded computer that I know of is warranty. Unlike assembled ones, which of course I prefer, A branded computer comes in a set if you want, and has warranty. An assembled computer may have warranty, but that's piece by piece. And some branded computers have the option to increase capacity too in exchange for losing the warranty(modifying components often disagree with the warranty terms), well unless you wanted to replace your motherboard all the time. So there is point in buying a branded one, especially the trusted brands, they often last for a good amount of time. IMHO.

Hi,knightrider.In my opinion,the advantage of branded computers is their service after you buy the computer.Why must we spend more money to buy branded computers althrough they have no advantages over the non-branded ones in functions?It is because we can get better service if we buy them.

yes i would personally prefer a assembled computer for the same reason... but for those who do not know how to do basic assembling and installing OS,a branded one may be suitable...

The advantage of branded computer is it checked before packing.It never gives problems and has got warranty.Assembled computers are much cheaper than branded computers.I could buy an assembled pc with a higher configuration.

I agree with you, technology changes in speed of a train. What is the best today will not be tomorrow. So much invention and improvements that sometimes it's a bit confusing. Well, I will just use my old computer and when it will surrender. That's the time to buy new pc.

Hai i think!!!!!!!!!!!! Why we pay more for a branded computer is not for the changing technology instead for the trust and faith we have on the brand/company.Infact assembled computers provide good options and enhanced capacities still they cannot build the faith one develops towards the brand

Branded is not an option , if you are aware of assembling the best available peripherals yourselves, if no then go for the branded and some added advantage like warranty(?).

Branded computers are quality assured, meaning for a given specs every component in it perfectly match, the finish product would go through a strict quality test. This is what we pay extra for and of course some more for the brand itself. When you buy a branded product you are 99% sure that it will work, unlike assembled ones can you happy say 90% it will work? So the extra amount is for peace of mind, for a computer enthusiast that peace of mind can be easily transformed into enhancement.

yes you are right branded computers are very expensive and most the computers now is being used as one of the major technologies in many ways.those branded computers has a lot of advantages like it has a warranty,you are sure that the parts is original and not fake,it has a long life.But if you're looking for that things,that a computer has you need to pay big amount, compared to assembled computers,in here you can get cheaper computers and you can save more but some companies sells cheaper computers with fake parts on it so be careful when you will purchase a assembled computer.i'll give you tips on how to purchase an assembled computer.you should purchase the parts in one store/shop only for you to get easily in touch with them whenever it has a problem and c secondly choose 1 brand only (every part).

By having the branded computer, i can't modified it freely.. it because of casing or size of mobo itself..

I don't prefer assembled computers for certain reasons. As its assembled all the parts are from different manufacturers and sometimes those are not compatible with each other. If you are expert hardware engineer then the case is different. While in branded PCs, all the parts are tested thoroughly and quality assured for which we pay extra and I think its worth. Sometimes branded PCs also dont work upto the mark and hardware would get fails but you get replacement of it as it comes under warranty.
