Say if it bites you it would be very painful.. Would you kill it straightaway or would you shrug it off.. Or would you let it go on as it is not disturbing you? If it was harmless maybe i would let it go or shrug it away.. But if it was a redant whose bite is very painful I would kill it.. Also what about mosquitoes.. I always bat them out... Now sometimes i think doesnt that ant have a right to live.. poor thing.. Do you feel like that?

If ant is crawling over my hand I jst shrug it off but it bites me then I will kill the ant and mosquitoes if it tries to bite or if I could see the mosquito near I will try to kill that because mosquito bite is not good for our health and body. By the way nice discussion you have stated! Keep up the good work!

Yeah, your right. Your health could be endangered by those little jerks. West Nile virus outbreak world wide. I'm glad you kill 'em, because I do too. hah Wait, you let the ant crawl all over your hand unless it bites you?

Yeah right Ashley, I'll bet you love to watch it march up, down, and through your fingers. And don't forget the tickling sensation...it makes you giggle, huh? Haha Just playin' *wink* -Bryan

I try not to kill any living thing. My sister who loves nature has trained me well. I believe in karma and I try to create the least harm in this world ( I learned this in my 62 years ). Also I have great empathy with other living things. I remember a short story by Ray Bradbury,I think,in which a man cutting down a tree was able to hear the tree's scream of pain ! Plus the scientific experiments which measured plant's reaction to danger, even noticing a leaf puller in another room.

Wow thats new to me.. Are there scientific experiments to prove that plants can react to danger? Can you elaborate more on this? Thanks for your reply..

I would just throw it away if an ant is crawling on my hand. Now a days weather in our city is very humid and ants keep on coming to even our bath towels. It could play havoc, if not noticed. I just do not feel comfortable seeing long rows of ants crawling on floor or a door. Though, it is an harmless creature, it is does not touch your skin. I understand they just leave a kind of liquid on our skin and our skin being very sensitive gets red, if rubbed after a bite by an ant.

some ants do not bite while others like the big black one they bite very hard. You cannot take them off unless you cut off their head..

I was raised camping and helping out on Grandpa's farm. So my reaction is usually to see what it is and remove it or put my hand someplace so the thing can crawl off. I try never to kill anything--mosquitoes and cockroaches are the exception.

If its not doing me any harm I would brush it gently off of let it finish walking over me. Very few creatures bite without provocation, even ones who can give a nasty nip, so I try to give things a chance to go away by themselves first.

I would smack the fire out of it, LOL. We have ants around here in the area I live in something terrible! Not a day go by without me having at least one crawling on me. Have you ever had one crawl across yer glasses? LOL, it's look like Godzilla!!! I don't normally run around killing insects just for bothering me, but ants have been a problem in this house for 10 years. I reckon after so long, it's just natural to smack it and go on.

Yes an ant on my glasses yes as you said it looks like godzilla. ANd those small red ants are more irritating as they crawl so fast you wont be able to locate them if they are crawling over your glasses...

I would shake it off. Especially if I am outside. If inside shake it off and call TERMINIX. I don't handle bugs well. That is my hubbys job.

well...if an ant is crawling in my hand, then i would just blow it off, if its biting me, then will pull it from my skin and sometimes it gets crushed when i pull it, otherwise, i dont hurt any other insects other than cockroaches and mosquitoes

i can never kill small ants.Infact i luv them too much.because they look so much innocent and natural beings to me. but if i feel danger from some insect,,i wud shrug it off rather than killing it. i often surprise people,,when they tell me that there is a mosquitoe on ur body and i try to shrug it off rather than killing it. sometimes i even like to watch the whole procedure of a mosquito coming on me and biting. they have to live also. bye PEACE.

You are one of the few who love insects... I have heard of people who donate bloood to bed bugs.. They actually let the bed bugs suck blood as much as they want from them.. Now you are letting mosquitoes do that..

I would shrug it off I think. ant bites are nasty. Mosquitos I just kill they tend to come back when you shrug them off. Ants are just out of their way when landing on you...

I usually dont feel an ant has a right to live, i mean there are like 1k billions of them so why not smack it if its annoying you by crawling on your hand? But hey, perhaps thats just me ;P

If there is an ant that's crawling on my hand, it'd feel like something's crawling up there, like a tickling feeling. If that happened, i'd take a fast look, and I either blow it off hard, or scrape it off of me on a surface. Either way, I HATE INSECTS!!!

In England we only have one type of ant that bites they are red ants, and I avoid them if I see them as it's a nasty sting they give. The more common black ants don't bite so I just flick them or brush them off, they are tough little creatures and this doesn't hurt them I don't think. I don't kill them unless they are invading my house in which case I'd use poison, or there are more eco friendly ways of doing it now with little micro bugs that irritate the ants so they move on.

i would probably shrug it off because im allergic to ant bites, when i am bitten with an ant, my whole body would be so itchy and red.

Oh i would hate to intentionally kill an ant or mosquito, after all it doesnt know what it is doing to us.. it is just part of its natural course! So i would just nudge it away!
