I was just curious of how many of you have vista on their computers, and what they think of it. I have heard so much bad things about it, and myself I just don't understand what all the negative talk is all about. I have it on my computer for a little over a year, and I haven't had any problems with it at all. Do you have vista, and how is it working for you?

What are you going to do when the next New OS comes out? stick with XP due to the familiarity of XP or are you just afraid of Change?

no i dont have vista...but my cousin has vista on his laptop and i feel uneasy to work on it...it takes a long time to read the dvds and when i tried to burn a dvd it took more than 30 minutes...
and it does not support many softwares and im fed up when i worked on vista...oh my god! im just wondering how can you work with it about half an year...
i'll rather use windows xp...the coolest OS...or if you wanna try something else, try Linux....its very good! you can get it in your doors steps if you wish(ubuntu linux)...
Goodday,
Sri

To me vista looks pretty much like xp indeed with just some gui modifications. It's default setting appears to be a lot more strict. My manager's laptop was shipped with a home version so we gladly checked it out but to my surprise it was very slow as far as my wholistic reckoning is concerned. I immediately changed the os to xp because she complains a lot but hp's support site doesn't have the drivers right away so i had to fetch everything manually. Well that's vista for you, an os that took its tool on hardware requirements.

I do, but i had to change back to XP. And Vista isnt downward compatible, only upward. SO i had to uninstall Vista to get XP installed.
My Winamp keeps crashing in vista, and no open source s/w works on it witout crashing.
The internet was too slow, as it had some hardware compatibity problems with IPv6 and all.
A pity, it had good interface.

Hi,know21.I still use WinXP now althrough I know Vista is splendid.I think if I want to change my OS to Vista,I should "update" my conputer first.Vista need a stronger CPU and more RAM.I am going to buy a new laptop in the next year and I think maybe will buy one with Vista.

I don't have it on my home computer, but i did have it at work at a previous job i had. I found it took a bit of getting used to, they seem to ahve made it idiot proof which means that i couldn't find any of the functions i wanted ie in Word becuase they had moved them and made them too obvious! I only used it for about 6 months and didn't have any problems with it, but i could not justify spending the money to upgrade my own computer to it.

I got my laptop just before Christmas this past year. I had never worked with Vista before that but that is the software installed on it. I like it fine, I have so far not had any problems with it at all. :)

I've been using XP before I got my new laptop which had vista last year. A first, it was difficult to use because it was more complicated and had a lot more extra functions. After using it for a while, Vista has really been great for me. I now appreciate the extra functions more. Although t takes up more space in terms of memory, it also helps keep my computer more organized. Vista is another great product from Microsoft.

While I personally haven't had any problems with it, I think most people who complain are complaining about its overhead. Just because hardware is getting better (exponentially?) doesn't mean that software should use it all up--especially if the software doesn't do anything spectacularly different. So to sum up, Vista isn't all that different from XP, but Vista uses more resources.

wel lI had Vista on my new computer but now after less then a month the computer went dohh!! it just didn't want to start up anymore. I though that windows Vista Interface and design was amazing I just loved it. But Something about it was a little fishy. It was working perfectly till one day it just froze uo and never started back up again. so sad.. After less the na month I will expect more and better,
With windows Xp I found no problems and I have 2 other computers with windows XP and they work just as good as Windows Vista.. Only if I knew what was the problem with my computer.. I would fix it ASAP but yeah take care and keep posting .. :D Happy Mylotting.. :D

Yes I have Vista and I have never had a problem with it. I think all the hype about vista is due to the newness and a new way of doing things with the OS it works fine for me.

Hii friend.
I have vista on my laptop and have xp on my desktop but i use to prefer only xp on my desktop.
Vista is good. It does not give any problems but still..
it takes a lot of time to start,
And i think it consumes 1GB of RAM in starting, i dont have any knowledge about this but i have heard this,
Also i love to play games on computers but there are many games which do not function properly on vista
so i usually prefer xp

i am using vista for my laptop and xp for my PC.. i like the xp since it uses less memory but vista is good for laptop since it has this mobile PC feature and i observed that my laptop's battery stays longer in vista than in xp..
