The best exercise for legs

Is there any just one exercise that I can do that will work my whole leg and get it toned??

well I would recommend plenty of walking and if you are up to it.... some gentle running too! also if you go to a gym... the leg press is very helpful at doing what you want..... and do remember that stretching beforehand and even afterwards will help heaps too! the Stretching Guy

doing squats is one of the best exercises to tone your leg muscles. it is also easy to do and you can do it without going to the gym.

for me, i find the best way to exercise whole leg is with leg weights.. just wraps around each leg and fastened with Velcro.. then i walk around as normal :))) and up and down the stars is excellent..
You could just use the bottom 3 steps as stepping equipment.. walk up first 3 then backwards down stairs.. do this quite fast, repeating often.. it will also get your metabolism up.. Amd also exercises front and back of legs, its even better if you had leg weights for extra intensity.
There is also walking up hills and down.
