I got up early this morning so that I could bake some cookies before the heat of the day!!
Does anyone else do this??
In the summer I bake either really late at night or really early in the morning. In the winter I try and bake everyday for the heat.

No I don't get up early to bake. If it is a really hot day and I want to bake cookies or muffins I put my toaster oven on my patio table out on my back deck and do my baking outside. I have done this several times this summer and it works great.

I made some chocolate chip cookies about an hour ago. I normally try to bake in the morning or the evening in the summer time too. I will sometimes bake in the middle of the day though. Like today. It was almost noon before I turned the oven on. It is a little bit cooler today though.

I baked some chocolate chip cookies yesterday and the house was hot all day (it was hot to begin with).
They didn't turn out well, they were mostly flat, and I'm not sure why. I wonder if the humidity had anything to do with it.

I was actually thinking about making cookies this morning, but I decided to make muffins instead. We have air conditioning and the oven vents outside, so baking doesn't really build up a lot of heat inside the house. I usually end up baking during the hottest time of the day, because that's when I've finished my 'morning' tasks.
