My phone takes horrible pictures...

This is the second time during my 11 mile walks in our local park that I've seen deer pretty close to me. So it's the second time I've stopped to take pictures with my phone. Well, this time the deer were like 5 feet away and you STILL can't tell that that's what I'm taking a picture of. I don't want to carry my camera with me, it's a bit big and bulky, but it looks like I might have to start doing that. And of course if I have my decent camera then the deer will never show up! If you can spot the 2 deer in this picture, you've got great eyesight.

I might try taking a small disposable with me tomorrow and see what happens. Of course then I'll have to get it developed and who knows when it'll get posted!! Or if it'll even turn out. Eh, maybe I'll carry my digital????

Right now I'm training for a 60-mile, 3-day walk so I've already got stuff I'm carrying. I didn't want to add any more too it, but I might have to until I can get a decent shot of the deer.

I don't have a camera phone. Never really thought I would ever find use for it. I didn't see the deer in the photo that you took. Bringing your camera along every time you venture for a walk or a ride is inconvenient. I have to agree with you on that one.

It's really hard to bring a camera on these walks. I'm training to do a 3-day/60-mile walk in October. It's not like I'm just strolling along, I'm WALKING, on a mission. But I think I might take the camera with me tomorrow, just to see. I'm sure the deer will not come out if they know I can get a decent pic of them.

Hello, Reinydawn!
I'm so sorry about your camera. It feels so bad when we have the chance to take a good shot and we miss it! I mean, you probably got so happy with the shot, but when you stopped to look at it, then you said: "Oh, I cannot believe!". And photographies are good aswell to prove that you are correct. Many people say: "I can't believe it. Only if you show me" and that's where the pictures appear. You said that you needed to have a great eyesight... Actually, I think I found both of the deers. Well, I will show you where. There is a big tree right in the middle of the screen, isn't there? The closest one to the camera. To the right, in the background, right next to that tree, there seems to be a deer in there. I can't tell you if his head is down or if his head is up, but it looks like a deer eating something in the grass. And, in the left of the tree, right next to the other deer, you can see the four legs. Am I right?
Respectfully,
Munhozmib.

Both deer are to the right of that tree, one very close to it, you can see it from the side. The other is a bit further to the left, but you can only see it's behind, he was facing away from me. I did post another dicsussion with the deer marked on the photo - I should have done that the first time!

The one in the pic that has it's butt toward me is just a baby, still got spots on him. I'm sure the other one - sideshot - is the mom. I've tried to take pictures with my phone before but they were even worse than these. I had to show my husband where the deer were in the pic and he barely saw them - and he's a trained hunter!! No wonder my freezer isn't full.

Mine is a camera phone but ive yet to work out how to use it properly!everytime I seem to try to snap something its always backfires on me and I end up with a blank or unusual picture!one day i will have to sit down and try to work it al out,how you actually use it,and especially how you download it from the phone!

I might not really know how to use mine either... That could very well be the problem. I've never had cell phone pics come out this bad before, just on this phone. Maybe I'll set down and play with it a bit.

Oh, how cute. It's amazing that you were able to get so close.
You must have been really quiet because they scare so easily.
We have alot of deer here in Westchester County in New York.
No so much where I live, but further upstate. They get spooked
very easily. They are so cute. Unfortunately, it is open season
for hunting soon and that really pisses me off! I am so against
that!Don't get me started!I don't know what kind
of camera you're using, but my girfriend takes the most
unbelievable pictures with those little disposable cameras. I've
never seen such clear pictures in my life. As for me, I haven't
tried it yet. She says you can't take bad pictures with them.
Don't go by me I do have very poor eyesight!

This is the camera from my phone, it's really horrible - unless it's me that has no clue how to use it!!! I think I'll take my real camera with me from now on, it gets great shots.
This deer jumped out right in front of me on the path, I almost ran right into it! Once it got off the path they both just sat there and stared at me "Hey, look at the human!"
Deer season is coming up here too - right after Thanskgiving. Our freezer is about empty from last season so I'm hoping my husband gets a couple deer this year. They have a bunch of acres - over 100 I think - that they hunt on. It actually does keep the deer population down so that less deer are left to die on the side of the road when a car hits them.

I'll definitely take the camera with me from now on. It'll be extra weight and all, but I would like to get some decent shots of the deer. They were barely 5 feet away from me. Of course if I take the camera the deer will never show up again...

I cannot see them. I can guess that one of them is a little besides on the right of the tree on the middle, but I am not sure. My eyesight is not good, I am a bit far sighted and regular depending. I have a Sony Ericsson 810! and that takes fair pictures, but they are mostly inside and not inside. So I guess the deer know what kind of cellphone you have, but I guess I do not. So what kind do you have? I am trying to go through what cellphones not to buy when my two year left on the contract of this one goes up and I cannot afford a camera either.

I have a Trio, which does great for what I need it for. I rarely need to take pictures with it and that was not one of the reasons I bought it - good thing eh?

My sister takes tons of pics with her phone, and they usually turn out ok. That way she can carry them all with her too.

I have not taken that many pictures. I had to get up enough nerve to do so, and most of them are of my granddaughter. She is the cutest little thing. Now I have to upload them into my computer and send them to my friend.

Any more, it's hard to buy a phone that DOESN'T take pictures. I do have a camera for picture-taking, but I don't carry it with me everywhere. This was a spur-of-the moment type thing, and unfortunately the pictures were terrible. When I do carry my camera - which is a bit bulky for my training walks - I never see any wildlife. Maybe after I'm done training, I'll relax a bit and walk through with my camera to see what I can get :)

I have a smart phone that hooks right up to the computer so I can transfer it real easily. A lot of times you can buy a cord that connects your phone to the computer, but not all phones do that.

It just looks like a but darker blob, an outline really. You can't see the spots on the one deer or the sharper features on the other one. I did post another discussion with the deer pointed out in the pic. I'm taking my real camera today, but probably wont see anything!
