We always try to eat together during dinner.Thats the only time we are all at home.I do think eating together would bring the family altogether.Sharing the meal together gives everyone a sense of identity. It can help ease day-to-day conflicts, as well as establish traditions and memories that can last a lifetime.

Hi msedge, my husband and I always try our best to have our meals together. Most of the time we have our breakfast and lunch together. We seldom have our dinner together for my husband always comes back late from his jogging. It is around 8:30 in the evening. He normally will take his dinner after 9 pm after having his shower. I usually have my dinner at 8 pm so we don’t take our dinner together. Hehe ... most of the time I eat my dinner sitting in front of the tv.
During certain festivals my son will come back and we definitely will have our three meals together. Having meals together could promote the close relationship among the members of the family.
posting and take care.

Yes, we do. I believe it's a good time for letting each person know what is going on with another. A good talking time. We use this and watching movies as our family time.

hi msedge. here in our family, we only have time to eat together on weekdays, during lunch time. in the morning, my elder kids go to school early while my wife and the two younger kids are still on bed. i also go to work about 30 minutes later than the school kids. in lunch time, we all eat together. because their school is just a distance of walk, and i have a bike so i have no problem in transporting. but in dinner, i can eat with them because i still have to work.

When I lived with my grandparents, we always eat together. It is our family practice to eat together since it is part of our culture. But when I moved here in the city to live with my father, I can only count how many times we eat together with my older brother and uncles. But I talked to them about it and they try their best for us to eat together even they are busy with their own lives.

When I was still in the high school, I lived with my family in my hometown. And I had chances to eat with my parents everyday. But after I started my college life, and I moved to another city, I then eat at school. And my parents had to eat themselves. I would like to go back to my hometown to work now and for some reason, I will have to stay in another city to work and achieve my aims.

Hi MsEdge, Yes my family all eats together at the table, in fact since getting the new carpet in the lounge all food and drink is consimed at the kitchen table not just the main meal and this rule didn't take long to implement either and has become automatic. My daughters and I will quite often sit at the kitchen table and just chat anyway. It also encourages my little one to eat more if he is at the table and he always asks if it is okay to get down also. I am a very traditional mother in my views anyway and eating up at the table has always been one I stick to. Ellie :D
